Harry Miller built front drive race cars that DOMINATED the Indy 500 during the 20s and early 30s. He also designed the initial engine that he sold to Fred Offenhauser. The Cord L29 was the first FWD car available to the public. The Cord 810 and 812 are legends. The Oldsmobile Toronado pioneered GM's FWD luxury cars and bore the brunt of development. The Eldorado, while great, adapted what Olds had pioneered. The original Morris Mini Minor, renamed the Mini, absolutely revolutionized small car design by using a transverse engine and FWD. The Citroen DS series were groundbreaking when they debuted in 1955, so far ahead of their time. They weren't even Citroen's first FWD cars. That would be the Traction Avant. This list, while interesting, is flawed.
Understeer vs Oversteer? Understeer is FAR safer! High performance AWD cars should heavily favor the front wheels because when traction is lost, the car is far more predictable and controllable. I owned a '92 Corrado SLC with the VR6 engine and it handled VERY well, while being completely predictable. There's a video where a Corrado SLC with 178 hp beats a similar year Toyota MR2 turbo around a track because the MR2 spun out. Those cars are twitchy, while the Corrado has been called the best handling FWD car ever built, and the car that should have been sold as a Porsche. The problem with FWD is the transfer of weight to the rear springs during acceleration. This invariably results in less traction and slower 0-60 and quarter mile times. Torque steer in some cars is an issue as well, though the Corrado and several other FWD cars have tamed that effect to the point where it isn't an issue. Great video! PS: When I had my '92 Corrado SLC I wound up meeting on a road outside Orlando with a guy that I recognized who had a Type R and wanted to race. I screwed up the launch, but caught him half way through the quarter mile and passed him right at the end. I was about 3 mph faster....
I would, unironically, LOVE a Neon SRT4. IDK why (maybe because it was in NFS UG when I had a PC that couldn't even run it at the time), but that car just speaks to me, I love it's design. Big-A*S wing from the factory? hell yea brother!
205 GTI the best of the hot hatches money wise. However the Renault 5 Turbo was supreme. It was driving like on rails. Getting a visit to the "Turbo Doctor" it became even faster to the point of scary but still like glued to the road. Analog no digital restrictions - all drivers cars - not better than the driver...
Honestly front wheel drive is extremely fun if you know what your doing with your throttle inputs around corners with a mind that the car is very front heavy. No, it'll never be a supercar but you'd be surprised how quickly you can get a small front drive hatchback around a tight low speed corner if you enter it the right way. It has its place
No mention of Infiniti G20 or Nissan Primera? This is probably the best FWD car out there, second only to Honda family of FWDs (Integra, Civic, etc.). It’s got double-wishbones all around, solid engine, what else could you ask for? Third place goes to AE101/111 Corolla’s with their super-strut suspension.

@@TopCarsTVWell opinions are subjective of course but I can understand your reasoning.I think those cars are just a bit more unique (Busso V6,great drivability and a Turbo 5 cylinder)and useable (arguably better in almost every way) but that’s just how I look at it.:))
He's back
You missed the GM W body cars with the LS4 V8. Impala SS Monte carlo SS Grand Prix GXP and Lacrosse/Allure Super. Those cars are beasts!
I hate Hondas sometimes, but this video reminded me that some of them deserve respect 😤🙏
They are literally meant to be reliable A to B commuters . Some people just make them fart cans and drive them like they are the fastest cars on earth
@@Tonyscasa yeah, that’s like many cars, I blame fast and furious for that 😂
Thanks man I've been looking for something like this for so long 👍
1. Kia Elan
2. Mini JCW GP
3. Oldsmobile Toronado
Blade's Corvette cameo? Like!
3:32 Activa is a completely different experience. I had the opportunity to ride it a few times. It was a sports car on curves and a complete comfort vehicle on straight bumpy roads. I used my own sub-version Hydractive 2 Xantia for 9 years. I just changed the timing belt and clutch pads. Other than that, it was a very trouble-free vehicle. Unfortunately, I sold it to its new owner after being advertised for exactly 1 day.
Thanks god there’s a new vedieo ♥️
1:40: Ah yes, our Stype talked again. Who even let him cook?
I knew i subscribed for a reason keep it up lmao I love it
My 05 Corolla might not be the most exciting car in the world, but it's a good daily driver regardless.
I like how fwd cars cutely screech
Disagree all you want, but I'll say the 2012 Impala is a good choice too. Dull sleeperized look, dullsile owners, dull looks, 300 horsepower V6, and a FWD agile feel, (My opinion) and a 140+ mph top speed. It shows it's speed, really it does.
300hp V8, not V6.
I've talked about it in one of my recent videos so I wanted to give other cars some spotlight too
@@TopCarsTV no no I've seen it.
I don't think the 2012 Impala SS exists. But the 2012 Impalas do have a 300 horsepower V6 VVT. I've researched this car more than I can say lol
Aaaah, the newer one. Yeah, that's a V6. Sorry
@@TopCarsTVno worries. It is kinda dullsile looking though lmao
Too bad the Renault Megane R26.R didn’t make it, but this list was tight as-is
Would have liked to see the 90's F2 Kit Cars that were just as competitive, if not more, on the tarmac against the AWD WRC cars
I'm totally okay with a classic RWD drivetrain concept, but to forget about that the Mini Cooper S won the Rallye Monte Carlo four times in a row from 1964 to 67 with its 101 hp 1300ccm FWD drivetrain, well, now THAT is a really impressive tiny little whoopsie, you made a "Mini whoopsie" so to say 😄
Jao Stipe... najbolji ti je kanal...
Only love this Channel. #1
finally i always for him to upload
That road-sign car was hilarious!
Papa finally uploaded
NFS U had a regular Neon. Not the SRT4
@@TopCarsTV yeah, I was thinking about the regular Neon.
Great video. Instant like for the “flatter than Taylor Swift” comment 🤣👌🏼
Although, I was really expecting a SAAB to be in there!!!!
Lesgoo bro uploaded💥💥💥
I own a toyota yaris t-sport from 2002, most fun ive had in any car.
Dont forget the Peugeot GTIs and 508 PSE
205 GTI the best of the hot hatches money wise. However the Renault 5 Turbo was supreme. It was driving like on rails. Getting a visit to the "Turbo Doctor" it became even faster to the point of scary but still like glued to the road. Analog no digital restrictions - all drivers cars - not better than the driver...
Need a part 2 for sure
Hey, atleast its good that Left Wheel Drive And Right Wheel Drive can't exist😄
diagonal wheel drive
Subbed! These videos are entertaining and well made!
Thanks man 👍
Glad the neon got some props
Finally a new video 🤩
Lancia Fulvia HF not being on the list is crazy
What about the Toyota Sera?
7:52 Oh my! That is very nice!
you cant mention fwd without thinking of the civic type R honestly that car is a masterpiece❤
Civic, integra, golf GTI, all I can think of..
Finally new video :D
I still can't believe how they fit a 8L V8 to FWD
Bro violated Taylor Swift (be ready for the stans), Lizzo, and Bladed Angel.
your videos are Godsent!
