@@AnonYmous-hu7jo the 350 is one of the best looking Z cars IMO. Might not be as legendary as the 240 years, but it definitely has the 280 & 300ZX beat.
I'm in Canada Craig and we did basically the same shit growing up. Buy a cool car for the summer the get rid of it come colder weather. Finally got a nice rsx I may keep for a while
even for sheer driveability, going with a nice set of wheels, good tires, and a high quality set of springs and shocks, it improves the car a LOT. simple exhaust mods, like to change the tone or sound, is great as well (READ: NOT MUFFLER DELETE, IT SOUNDS LIKE CRAP 100% OF THE TIME).
@Craig Lieberman Hi Craig. Man hearing you talk about your firebirds. Makes we wish I was able to have gotten my hands on one. I came close to owning a 1968 Firebird. Dark green, convertible, AC, engine wasn't original it had a basic 327 from a 1967 Corvette. Wasn't show quality or a rust bucket either, a good driver.
16:36 That is actually insane, of all the cars, makes and models, you literally NAILED my mindset when I was 19. I had a 2004 Mustang V6 (Charcoal gray) that I put a bunch of money, time and effort into and right before pulling the trigger on the supercharger, I realized that I could sell the V6, and use that same money to get a V8. I ended up in a 2000 GT (Atlantic blue). The sound ALONE was more than enough to make me realize that I had made the right call. My insurance went up 30$.
Been busting my ass, doing alot of side hustle gigs to help pay for my dream bike, as well as working mad Overtime, 7 day weeks. Needed this wisdom and encouragement. Respect Craig, thank you.
Gotta wonder if Craig won the race in the Mustang against the Supra, if he would have bought one or not. Then, if he didn't and still owned the Mustang would it have got the attention to be in the Fast and the Furious.
Late but I honestly ask myself what if I never got into Go Karts. I would've never gotten into racing (which I have talent for) I was born a car guy so I already loved the automobile, heck my first word was truck.
You know Craig you actually remind me of my dad, he bought a 6th gen 2SS convertible Camaro and within a few days we had the ECU cracked and a 500 shot fitted to it. We did a pull with it one night and we actually did a pull with a catfish Camaro and ended up hitting about 200 when we let off. Gotta say hitting that speed, was a unique experience (also funny I'm trying to remake your E46 M3 in Forza; think I've seen the real thing once too)
Thank you Mr. Craig for the inspiring advice. Wouldn’t it be so cool for you to be a cameo in the last installment of the Fast&Furious Franchise. After all, you are part of the inspiration that makes the movies great!
I had an 81 I-Mark for a few years, and countless Chevy LUVs. I loved them all. The I-Mark was gutless but it handled and cornered very well and was comfortable for its size. The LUVs were super easy to work on, there' s nothing I haven't done with a LUV truck, The 4x4s were badass little machines and could go just about anywhere with a cheapo lift.
I love the fact that his first car was a "distant cousin" of my first car 🤣, my first car was a 1986 chevrolet chevette, same platform with some differences the power train and the design, mine was 2 doors (very common in the Brazilian market) with 71hp 1.6L engine, Brazil never had DOHC versions or 1.8L versions :(
I started modding a 1990 Integra RS a year after getting my license in the 90’s. Thinking back now, man if I had a set of coil overs and some blingy wheels on a car with the performance of a Tesla M3P back in the day… I’d be like a god among men😆
If I heard of someone who has that experience with tons of cars over the years in a S.E.Asian setting I'd say they are very rich given the flow of their hobby. Thanks for sharing, it was nice seeing your progression, experiences and tastes through the years.
Just gotta say watching this vid a year later sorry, but the isuzu I-mark, known as the holden gemini here in aus, was such a legend of a car and a hit here. Great video but also in the end great motivation video thanks craig for that
Glad you enjoyed it
You gotta pick a car you're truly in love with.

Hey your story is an inspiration to kids who weren’t born with a silver spoon in their mouth. God bless. Great job.
I had a 88 NX Pulsar. Had a CA18DE. But auto. So at least in Canada they got the CA.
Didn't realize till recently you are the flagger at race wars in fast and furious

Really good video and good advice to the young people. You had some interresting cars up the years bjt costly he he.
By the time I'm his age (I'm 34) I'll probably end up owning more than him.
I've owned 16 cars since I bought my first car at 16. I love vehicles, I love working on them. I just wish I could do it more often.
Great tips for people starting off.
Glad it was helpful!
Would have been more helpful 20 years ago, but I wouldn’t have listened! ow I feel old now 😂
Wish we could go back to when old Datsun Z’s were cheap
Honestly how often did you trade in/buy new cars on average?
I am ALLLLLL! about that Isuzu, oh so cool and obscure
Pretty sick line-up!
Actually interesting to see your list
I think you should have more modded car then Nissan. Because you have a lot of experience, connections and money.

"It's not how you stand by your car. It's how you race your car. You better learn that" - Edwin
I want to hear more about that 67 Chevelle
Sir, what do you think about the SN95 mustang? Do you think you could have built one that can beat the Supra that have you sell your Foxbody?
The SN95 looked the Mustang that should have come before the 88-93 Mustang.
Great advice .
Craig I’m in my late 30’s and still can’t afford 90’s Honda. What can I do? 😅
