DIY Foaming Bath Whip with Recipe

  • Hey, Beauties! Let's make whipped soap base aka foaming bath butter.... totally from scratch! I got this recipe from makeyourown.buzz and the recipe is directly from their website as follows. I will place the gram amount next to each weight for your convenience.
    5 oz (140g) Distilled Water
    5 oz (140g) Vegetable Glycerin
    3.5 oz (100g) Cocamidopropyl Betaine
    8 oz (227g) Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate Powder
    1 oz (28g) Stearic Acid
    .5 oz (14g) Culinox Salt
    3 g Tetrasodium EDTA (Provides stability with preservative to extend shelf life)
    Preservative, such as Germaben II, Optiphen, or Optiphen Plus (Use recommended directions from manufacturer)
    I personally skipped the Culinox Salt and tetrasodiom EDTA. I took the liberty of converting into grams because I feel this gives more accurate and consistent recipe outcomes. I also rounded the SCI amount up on this batch but, I honestly don't think it was necessary to do that because the final recipe wasn't quite the smooth, easy to pipe consistency I was aiming for. I also tripled the recipe as well. Here are the measurements I used in the video -
    420g Distilled Water
    420g Vegetable Glycerin
    300g Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Bubble Up)
    720g Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate Powder
    84g Stearic Acid
    10g Preservative
    I hope you found this video helpful and don't forget to like and subscribe! You can also find us on Instagram to check what we're working on this week @southernskyebeauty

    Good afternoon! Great recipe, I think I'd also put a tad bit more butter/oil for a creamier outcome but it's a beautiful product!! Saw where you said you had rounded up on the SCI, I'll take that into consideration too. This looks good enough to eat! LOL ; ) New subbie here...Yay!! Have a great day. Could you add your extra oils and butters into the original mix so you only have to add the sent and color you want when making your different products later on?

    • @southernskyebeauty6567
      @southernskyebeauty6567  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You could technically yes, but this is not my preference bc you’d have to whip the base to incorporate the extra butters. When you’re ready to add scent and colors, you will have to whip it again and it may get over whipped and deflate.

      Hi there! SLSA is much more expensive (at least the last time I purchased it) and wouldn’t be as cost effective to make. I’ve never done a one for one switch but I don’t see why not. I’d def test your own results if you decide to give it a go and keep us posted!

    • @kayla-rae4770
      @kayla-rae4770 3 ปีที่แล้ว
