    That looks wonderful! I recently purchased the Crafters Choice Foaming bath whip and absolutely love it! I don't usually buy bases because I prefer to make everything from scratch and I will definitely be making it from scratch next time because I have so much SCI.
    Just as a friendly note, you mentioned Coco Betaine as your surfactants but it looks like you are using Cocamidopropyl Betaine. They are two different ingredients and so many people think they are the same, and I was one of them. I noticed that even the suppliers shorten cocoamidopropyl betaine to coco betaine. I try and tell people because Cocoamidopropyl Betaine is a lot more gentle than Coco Betaine. Which is a good example of natural doesn't mean more gentle. Cocoamidopropyl Betaine is a synthetic and Coco Betaine is natural. When I first started out making products I purchased Coco Betaine and I can tell a big difference between the two when I use them as a sub for the other.

    • @StoryTimeDIY
      @StoryTimeDIY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I cannot say how the milk will change how this comes together. It takes a long time for the powdered ingredients to melt and I think that may burn your milk. For most skin care, you can swap the milk for the water phase but I'm thinking this may be one product where that doesn't work. You can sure try. I'd reduce the batch size exponentially to try a test batch though. If you do, let us know how it turned out!

    I was just wondering How much whipped soap does this recipe yield both pre whip and after by weight and volume? Thank you so much for making the video I’m asking because 25 lbs of brand name is $125 and the ingredients seem more expensive to make this from scratch. I just can’t tell

    • @StoryTimeDIY
      @StoryTimeDIY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It would be 51 oz by weight. Volume depends how much air you whip in. My total cost is less than $12 in ingredients, but that also depends on you, and what supplier you use.

      If you're going to make products for sale, you'll need to educate yourself on ingredients and skin care. TH-cam is great for information and inspiration.

    • @StoryTimeDIY
      @StoryTimeDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It won't be thick until it cools completely. Other than that, you could add more steric acid.

    • @theluxlife
      @theluxlife 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StoryTimeDIY thanks so much! roughly for a batch similar size to yours how long would it take? I know different climates play on that, but i’ve left a batch overnight and it’s still not that thick at all! I was wondering if it’s due to my stearic acid being in tiny little bead form. but i’m unsure

    Wow I love the video. Since it’s vegetable based, is it safe to say it’s natural? Also Can I add Optiphen Plus instead of Liquid Germall Plus?

    • @StoryTimeDIY
      @StoryTimeDIY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Natural isn't a regulated term. So you can make that call.
      Optiphen works best for water based products. Optiphen ND for oil based. And Optiphen Plus works for both so you can absolutely use it. Follow the suggested useage rate per the manufacturer and adjust your recipe accordingly.

      Stearic acid will make for a stiffer texture. But this is something to dip your fingers in. If you want a whipped soap bar, that is a different product entirely

      Rot? I don't think you want any skincare product to rot. It does not have to cure but it needs to sit overnight.
