    Use a small makeup brush dipped in a tiny bit of distilled water and brush where you want your parts to stick. Works like a glue so you don’t have to try and MOLD the brim onto the top part of your hat

    Could you add your extra oils and butters into the original mix so you only have to add the sent and color you want when making your different products later on?

    • @southernskyebeauty6567
      @southernskyebeauty6567 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could technically yes, but this is not my preference bc you’d have to whip the base to incorporate the extra butters. When you’re ready to add scent and colors, you will have to whip it again and it may get over whipped and deflate.

    Hi there! Quick question. In one of your 2017 videos you explained how you pre-bloomed dyes and kept them in squirt bottles. In this video though, you bloomed the dye right before adding to the mix. Why the change? Just super curious if one method works better than another. Thank you! - Kerry

    • @southernskyebeauty6567
      @southernskyebeauty6567 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good eye!! Yes I found that to get super intense color with the dye mixed in bottles wasn’t working well for me bc it was making my mix too wet. I hate waiting so I switched up how I use my colors. I much prefer the updated method.

      You’re very welcome. You can use dye in lotions but I‘d only recommend one or 2 colors that will blend well because they will eventually become one color over time. I’d also use it sparingly - but basically mix some dye with a small amount of water and add to the lotion. Hope this helps!

    Great recipe, I'm definitely going to give it a go! I must mention though, the higher the percentage of alcohol the less effective as an disinfectant. Ethanol range of disinfection is between 60-90%, being 70% the most effective. 99% ethanol is actually used to "seal" bacteria into microscope slides and study them. I believe this is an important consideration for those making products to sell. Thanks again for sharing this recipe!

    • @miattamustapha2007

      So if you want to use alcohol as a disinfection it’s better to use 70% ?

    • @FOODFOREYESjajagenau
      @FOODFOREYESjajagenau 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@miattamustapha2007 yes, Sophia is right. Isopropylalcohol (IPA) 70% works best as an disinfectant, at least that‘s what I learned at the Tisserand Institute. The reason: a higher percentage of alcohol evaporates too quickly and may not do the job of killing germs and bacteria , for exactly this reason.

    I'd love to try to make this into a thinner pumpable lotion as well. I see that you said that you've also made it with 3600g water as well. I know that the water:Emulsifying wax ratio is very important, so if you increase the water by that much do you also need to increase the emulsifying wax? Thanks so much
