Love butterfly bushes, bluegrass music. What fun, watching Ben collect the bugs for you!
Thanks for watching 😊
Hahaha! Okay, so about June bugs.. the first year my husband and I had gotten our in ground garden established, by 4th of July a swarm would be an understatement for what I witnessed in my backyard and they stayed for almost 2 weeks . I remember freaking out and grabbing bird netting and covering what I was growing and getting DE like a chicken with its head cut off 😂 After that first time, I learned they just wanted the grass or clover who knows and didn't even bother with my tomatoes and peppers fortunately. So every year I make sure to have at least 1 morning glory growing because they'll ravage it for sure 😆
Yes I noticed that too. They stayed close to my what is now dead grass lawn but I still haven’t seen any in my garden thankfully so for about 3-4 days they flew around and numbed into me but no harm no foul so I just coexisted until they moved on.
Dang, I’m putting my peppers in the greenhouse next summer. The ones I have outside look so sick. Puny. What a great guy Ben is! Putting his very life on the line (are those killer bees??🐝 😮) so you can get to your garden. I’ve been chuckling all day seeing him covered from head to toe, scooping up bugs and hoping they aren’t bees!😂 your tomatoes look fantastic! Hope you get some relief from the heat wave soon!
Yes Ben truly is the best. And no what I thought were bumble bees were just June bugs. Not sure what caused them to swarm like this. I read it could have been my dead dead grass but they slowly dwindled down and in about a week they were all gone. Thanks for watching and supporting me.
I have noticed that also, I have peppers in high tunnel with 50% shade cloth and some in raised beds and the ones in high tunnel are bigger now that the shade cloth has been up for about 3 weeks, before they were all basically the same size.
Yes so I’ve put shade cloth over all of them outside too now. I just need to get over to Pepperville and cover those too. We’re in a nasty drought and heat wave right now as well.
@@jencordial same here 98 degrees today
The peppers are driving me nuts! And the birds have not relented one bit!
Oh no. I’m so sorry. If it’s not one problem it’s another. Gardening is a test in perseverance for sure.
Thumb nail made me think there was a mater burgler or a yeti spotting
I know right. I just had to use that. He always know how to make me laugh.
100% my peppers love having some shade. It's almost 100 today. I'm going to have to figure out how to do what the millennial gardener is doing.
This heat and drought is definitely taking its toll. The shade cloth I think is going to be saving a lot of my plants.
