I feel like if Cirie would’ve been at any FTC she would’ve had this performance. Maryanne persuaded 7 people to vote for her instead of Mike and pretty much dominated and answered every single question honestly. She may be one of the best person EVER to dominate the FTC. I always say, it doesn’t matter how you start, but it’s how you finish.
She was an absolute rockstar! From someone who felt so misunderstood early on, or like she was "too much", she laid it all out at FTC. Her idol was the ace in her pocket. And the beauty is, this cast was so strong. A case could be made for any of them to win it. When the competition is that high, to come out on top just proves how deserving she is. This cast was so good. (*I'm still bitter Cirie never made to a FTC*)
Don't get me wrong, Maryanne's FTC was amazing, but you should see the FTC of the first season of Australian Survivor, the winner went from almost no one voting for them to basically sweeping the jury their performance was so good.
I've watched this multiple times over the last few months... and each time I sob. It's astonishing that she is only the second black female winner in the show's history, crowned 20 years after Vecepia. And so deserving! She was true to herself and played hard. She cemented her legacy in Survivor history.
Some fans don't get it. Survivor is all about TIMING. Maryanne's gift was perfect timing. For her quintessential move in getting out Omar. For her getting Mike to play the idol on her so she didn't have to reveal hers. For the coup de grace of revealing her idol at FTC. It was all perfectly timed. Many survivors forget good moves are nothing without timing.
You're saying it like it was her plan all along but he wouldn't make any move if not for Mike and Jonathan telling her about Lindsey's idol and wanting to go after them. Kudos for winning but if she ever comes back can be easily voted off at the beginning.
@Josh Kolbo i wouldnt say it was absolutely terrinle, just had some glaring issues, mainly the edit, some twists we saw this season, and people found some parts of the season to be too woke. Though I believe the cast itself is great and has some all star people many hope to see return one day
@Josh Kolbo it's not horrible bit yeah I also would say the edit is POORLY distributed. We got so much of beasts and movemakers and most of them were eliminated. Then the actual winner who playef the best game got an edit similar to Natalie White's except that Erika won challenges and reminded us about her lamb to lion story which was her highlight.

I feel bad for Mike. I think he was a little disappointed at the end, he thought he was going to win and I don’t blame him for that. Hope he comes back for another season in the future.

Truth be told, other than wanting someone out, he pretty much was a follower in my opinion. I don't think he came up with anything substantiable at all, but I could be wrong. He was however a really sweet adorable guy, his family is blessed.
Lindsey summed Mike up with her comments about how its okay for him to do certain things, but anybody else besides Johnathan, becomes a target with that guy. In other words he was cocky and arrogant as hell-o. The right person won

She was the ONLY person that saw how sneaky and back stabbing Omar was. In his off camera interviews, he ripped all the players apart, he wasn't a nice guy and the way he clowned Mike....classic!!
Saw her as annoying and probably a solid member of a alliance but she not only did what most players don’t have the balls to do by taking out her closest Allie who would definitely win but she also made great improvements to her game like her social game
She observed and she learned and what I found so enduring about her, she's sitting around with the others; just soaking up the moment, the atmosphere, the ambiance, the ppl, and she said this was the happiest she's been in a long time....Maryanne clearly has a story to tell us all someday and I hope despite her journey, things are gonna get a whole lot better for her and her family.
That is what I noticed too. Maryann was so young and wanted others to like her. She was nice and bubbly all the time. Her game improved with each vote and I could finally understand her game play at the end.

Brandon, I absolutely agree with you. From the moment she was introduced to fans, I saw something very special and engaging about her and the fact she had so much insecurities about herself and how the others found her annoying, made me root for her even more. But without a doubt, this by far was the best Survivor Ever....no back stabbing, no pettiness, just pure survival genre' to win. Hate seeing the season end!!
I liked her but there is no way she played a better game than Mike. Never won a challenge. Made one play the entire game. But We know why they voted for her. No one wanted to be the “racists” that voted for Mike.
Are you serious? This cast was pathetic. Couldn't finish challenges, crying constantly and used their race at every turn. Rocksroy was voted by a tribe of homosexuals and minority males and Drea still had the audacity to make a race issue.

The jury wanted him to justify his actions, his moves, his general gameplay. He couldn't. If you can't perform at final council, you won't win. Period! Mike was also Omar's puppet for a week or so. First time I’ve ever cried when the winner of Survivor is announced (and I’ve watched almost every season). Maryanne deserved this win so much. I am so happy and emotional at the same time. You did it Maryanne!

Can’t believe Mike didn’t win. I really liked Maryanne’s personality and character but I feel Mike did more throughout the game and outplayed everyone else. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to articulate his points very well and it cost him.

Truth be told, I don't remember Mike doing anything but protecting Johathon and himself and listening to everyone's game....he never really had anything going on for himself and like Mayanne, never won anything...The right person won, if not on personality alone.

I was a Mike and Lindsay fan from the beginning, and neither one of them won. I am somewhat upset about that, but tis the game. Maryanne won, and I hope to see players like her, Omar, and Lindsay again. (And maybe Jonathon). ONWARD TO 43!
Congrats to Maryanne. When she had her _huge_ meltdown over Jackson, whom she'd only known for two days, getting evacuated, I doubted that she'd have the emotional fortitude needed for the game. I was especially bewildered when I read the spoiler saying that she would win. But she just proved me wrong week after week after week! Her moves as the game went on, particularly in the endgame, were excellent, and her jury performance was beyond expectations! Well-earned victory!
she didn’t know him only for two days, with the casting process, and quarantine. she’d probably knew him for a good 2-3 weeks. and knowing how hard it is to get casted in Survivor

Romeo Romeo Romeo…where art thou brain Romeo? Why wouldn’t you face off the 2 best liked competitors for the fire challenge and give yourself a better chance with the judges??? C’mon! I mean, fire challenge is unpredictable and Maryanne could’ve won it but that little bit of strategy could’ve helped win some points with the judges regardless of the turnout. As soon as Romeo saved Maryanne I knew she was gonna be the winner….but I gotta say that Maryanne taking out Omar was genius and she played a great social game.
I think Romeo knew he was a looser too. Especially after Maryann gave him a hug for picking her. It was as if MaryAnn knew being up agaisnt Romeo would secure her win.
Great job Maryanne! I knew it was gonna be her or Lindsay when they were both in the final 5! I also like how she reminded the jury of the fact that Zach, Swati, and Lydia were voted out before the jury, and they're all under 25 like her.
Not even close, Xander was perceived as a goat by F6 at least. Hell DeShawn even got 2nd over him. Mike HAD an opportunity to win, but he stupidly played his idol on an already safe Maryanne at F5. Was out of the FIC first within a minute and didn't own his game whatsoever at FTC. Terrible end game for Mike. Maryanne positioned herself so well after Omar went home she had a winning F3 combo with every person left (maybe not Lindsay)

I'm happy for Mary Anne. She somehow became A LOT LESS annoying in the past few episodes and really played the game well. Was it as good as Erika's last season? No where near close, but it's still a heartfelt moment to see her succeeding at a brutal social game, especially knowing her backstory that she wonderfully told in her final tribal speech. Mike also played a wonderful game, and I'm glad he at least received one vote has he does not deserved to be tied up with Romeo, who no doubt played one of the best third place games since Laurel in Ghost Island. This season overall was on par with the previous one, but there's still SO MUCH to fix.They need to go back to 39 days, live reunions, no more hour glass twist, and need to remove the lose your vote twists. Jenny was no doubt one of the most robbed players in history due to those omitted votes despite having the numbers. This might be a new era of Survivor, but it still feels no where near like the real thing when you watch better seasons like David vs Goliath and Cambodia.

How utterly stupid that Romeo didn't force maryanne to make fire. Odds are she would have lost and been a non factor. Romeo didn't stand a snowball's chance in Hades of winning and I believe Mike would have edged out Jonathan for the win. I've watched this show since it's inception and believe these last two (41 & 42) are it's worst. It's become overly complicated and far too politically correct for a huge portion of it's formerly loyal viewing audience. One last thing of note.....I believe the entire cast would have drowned if Jonathan hadn't pulled them all out of the drink. Too bad he couldn't solve a puzzle to save his life.

She observed and she learned and what I found so enduring about her, she's sitting around with the others; just soaking up the moment, the atmosphere, the ambiance, the ppl, and she said this was the happiest she's been in a long time....Maryanne clearly has a story to tell us all someday and I hope despite her journey, things are gonna get a whole lot better for her and her family.
That is what I noticed too. Maryann was so young and wanted others to like her. She was nice and bubbly all the time. Her game improved with each vote and I could finally understand her game play at the end.

Brandon, I absolutely agree with you. From the moment she was introduced to fans, I saw something very special and engaging about her and the fact she had so much insecurities about herself and how the others found her annoying, made me root for her even more. But without a doubt, this by far was the best Survivor Ever....no back stabbing, no pettiness, just pure survival genre' to win. Hate seeing the season end!!
I liked her but there is no way she played a better game than Mike. Never won a challenge. Made one play the entire game. But We know why they voted for her. No one wanted to be the “racists” that voted for Mike.

Congrats to Maryanne. When she had her _huge_ meltdown over Jackson, whom she'd only known for two days, getting evacuated, I doubted that she'd have the emotional fortitude needed for the game. I was especially bewildered when I read the spoiler saying that she would win. But she just proved me wrong week after week after week! Her moves as the game went on, particularly in the endgame, were excellent, and her jury performance was beyond expectations! Well-earned victory!

I'm happy for Mary Anne. She somehow became A LOT LESS annoying in the past few episodes and really played the game well. Was it as good as Erika's last season? No where near close, but it's still a heartfelt moment to see her succeeding at a brutal social game, especially knowing her backstory that she wonderfully told in her final tribal speech. Mike also played a wonderful game, and I'm glad he at least received one vote has he does not deserved to be tied up with Romeo, who no doubt played one of the best third place games since Laurel in Ghost Island.
This season overall was on par with the previous one, but there's still SO MUCH to fix.They need to go back to 39 days, live reunions, no more hour glass twist, and need to remove the lose your vote twists. Jenny was no doubt one of the most robbed players in history due to those omitted votes despite having the numbers. This might be a new era of Survivor, but it still feels no where near like the real thing when you watch better seasons like David vs Goliath and Cambodia.

How utterly stupid that Romeo didn't force maryanne to make fire. Odds are she would have lost and been a non factor. Romeo didn't stand a snowball's chance in Hades of winning and I believe Mike would have edged out Jonathan for the win. I've watched this show since it's inception and believe these last two (41 & 42) are it's worst. It's become overly complicated and far too politically correct for a huge portion of it's formerly loyal viewing audience. One last thing of note.....I believe the entire cast would have drowned if Jonathan hadn't pulled them all out of the drink. Too bad he couldn't solve a puzzle to save his life.
