I've been in a number of situations like that - living in Minnesota they are part of your life. One thing I quickly learned was - better the parking spot you had than sitting on the freeway, getting stressed right out of your air ride seat and moving at best one mile/hour..:)

Wow Jack! You are really patient. I'd have gone elsewhere to fuel/whatever rather than wait in all that. Rand McNally hasn't updated the GPS for I-22 for the same reason they don't overlap the map when a state is split between pages. Too much Info missing! Are they lazy or what?
I really love snyders honey, mustard, onion pretzel pieces, but they are sooooo rare here in Europe. Yes I could order them via the internet, but that would take away the joy of finding the stuff once in a decade in a shop over here :)
Hey Jack...FOR YOUR INFORMATION Coming out of the FJ, you can also turn right, go to the first red light, turn right again and it will also take you to I22. There will be a Freightliner dealer at the light. Just in case turning left from the FJ is not an option. That's at the FJ in Birmingham Al. Thx for the cool videos and drive safe sir

What do you like about the route through Atlanta opposed to the route through Nashville? There's only about 8 miles difference according to Google. But, I know a lot of people hate going through Atlanta, so I was wondering what is it about the I-40. I'm just half-way through my CDL School here in Alabama, so I'm trying to glean as much information as I can about the different routes.

I can really recommend Waze Social Driving app for you Jack (and you guys watching). It sure has helped me when the roads ahead are filled with red tail lights

+Davjo Ciestanski you have to plan ahead so you don't get stranded like that. Although In This Storm I heard many drivers further north were stranded on the freeway for that reason.
Another good one, Jack. What is the deal with Swift? I know they are not well respected in the trucking community but I've never known the reason why they got that bad reputation to begin with.
If a trucker get no extra compensation for heavy loads, someone else does. The transport company you are driving for? If you own the truck, the trailer and you are your own transport company then the compensation would be a quite different I guess, but that is a different situation.
Arizona Mike my son drove a older FL model freightliner, think a yr 2000. Anyhow that thing had MANY rattles and SQEAKS in the dash. He got so irritated, he took a can of WD-40 and sprayed all around the dashboard up under where it meets the firewall. I told him, bet that smells nice in your cab now!? He got rid of that rattletrap. No matter what someone says..Freightliner is a cheaply made truck. Not saying that all manufacturers are perfect. But park a Pete, or KW with a 700000 or one million miles beside a Freightliner and you can see the difference.

It's rare for us Canadian truckers to have problems like this. But then again we're used to the freezing temps. This morning it was -40. No problem.

Hope it clears up a little next week, I am flying to Toronto then driving to Rochester. Hopefully they are used to it and roads will be ok.

That Pilot is always jammed up. I use to drive for CT and our main office was just down the road from there.Stopped there once and never again.

It's an eLog nightmare. Noticed drivers parking any old place, especially in upper PA, VT, NH last fall. Just not enough rest areas open for parking!!

Your ELD doesnt have a provision for personal conveyance when bobtailing to get food etc?
