Back in the day we did a protest on the 77. Protesting Ohio's 55mph speed limit for trucks. Everyone did 55mph & the freeway quickly backed up. Out of state truckers were tired of getting pulled over for 1 or 2 mphs over while cars & local trucks would have too do 5 to 10 over to even get looked at. We showed that if everyone did the speed limit in a split speed state the traffic would back up quick due to the terrain and volume alone. Now even Ohio & Oregon have raised their limits, leaving I think California as the only state with a 55mph limit which out in the desert is pure stupidity.
Wow Jack we all enjoyed the ride down 77 like also the camera shots very interesting just like we were there. Oh and yes that SINGER reminds me of the 60's trucking songs very very good we sure miss the old times and the Rickety click of the old cement highways. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks Jack. That really is a film, more in the traditional sense. And some well done road music. Reminds me of Jim Croce; Rollin' Me Down the Highway...movin' ahead so life don't----------pass me by. So glad to see u retain the "Spirit of your Youth".
I'm old enough to remember Charlie Douglas and The Road Gang on WWL, the 50,000-watt, clear channel powerhouse in New Orleans. Charlie started the Road Gang in the late 70's and gave late-night/early-morning road & weather conditions from New Orleans to Little Rock to Denver to Billings to Seattle!! Yes! Truckers from all over the country tuned in and connected with Charlie's wonderful humor and his genuine love of truckers. Craig's song is exactly the kind of music Charlie would play... Usually from a lonely trucker on the road to his wife back home. Besides... It don't take more than a pedal steel guitar to turn ME into a blubbering mass of weepiness just remembering those late night drives home from my own radio gig in Alabama! Thanks for sharing that and, as always: Keep th' greasy side down and keep it 'tweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen th' ditches, Y'All!! ;) [Another Charlie-ism!]
Stop watching net phlix and d/l them instead. you can repeat when you want and save data if you need it . Sometimes I watch a movie twice so I can fall asleep faster. Not sure how that works but it does. Safe trips Jack, truck music is just "GEARING UP AGAIN". This new song is really the best, good job Greg. Well done! I stopped driving (layoff) so music is back in focus for me. ...as ya go Jack. a brother _/ Looking forward to the next new Video :)
Jack, in case you were wondering if anyone would notice at 7:26 that the bridge to WV changed to another bridge for that shot from the right side of Old Red...um...yeah. I want to say it is a Louisiana bridge, but I'm not sure.
Nice trucking song! Ripley WV is where I grew up. Now living in Parkersburg WV. Nice communities and people. I really enjoy your videos! Keep up the good work!
good choice for a song, love the different camera views and scenery shots. thanks for your efforts, from one truck driver to another-be safe and thank you.
Another masterpiece vid. Using your data on Netflix is better than using data on that evil PORN !!! Ya did well to match trucking footage with the song "Just a few more miles" nice relaxing tone of voice & words. Easy listening. ( really do not know why some like the hard heavy metal songs/music ... Migraine head ache crazy music ) Of all the movies & songs Elvis did do not think he made a trucking song !!! He missed out with that one. Col Parker should of got the idea Elvis should of sang a trucker song. Elvis did own a bus which he sometimes took over the wheel. Memphis to California / Cali to Tennessee . He owned homes in both places at the same time. Maybe truckers like the Elvis song "Are ya lonesome tonight?" That is cold for May !!!! In the 20's crazy. Farmers have to wait till June to plant ??? in that area. Ya think ya were in Alaska.
Jack, I agree Craig Donaldson is a hit! Even thought I am a CDL Class B, driving lately a refrigerated straight rig, I could listen to him as I make my way along for deliveries. Roll on!
Driving that rig to glory is also another good trucking song by creig, thanks for playing the song so good to hear a fresh voice, today's country music isn't what it use to be. So i dont listen to the so called country music.
Hi Jack...loved the music by Craig Donaldson with your video on the road. Reminded me of videos Allie Knight made when she was trucking. Nice to just watch the miles roll by.
Great run down I-77 Jack. Miles and miles of beautiful highway. Really good trucken music with Craig Donaldson. Thank you for sharing once again. Always top notch.
I wonder if that's the same West Virginian bridge that Mothman warned about. LOL I agree, that singer's voice is Kenny Rogers-esque and the music kinda reminds me of the Eagles.
As a old retired trucker Jack I just loved that music , I turned up the volume and watched it three times , grate can we have some more sometime thanks AL
For someone that doesn't like ohio.you go there alot...its not so bad.it grows on ya my friend..i live in the Akron area..safe travels.i keep a eye out for ya. My friend.
Merle Haggard, White line fever, I’m sure you know that one, Garth Brooks, “ cold shoulder”, that is about the loneliness of a OTR Driver, 18 miles and a dozen roses, Kathy Mateo ? Good stuff, I’m drinking a bourbon 🥃 whilst watching this..Cheers !

bunch of my family lives within 20 miles of that intersection. I-77 used to be known as the 'Hillbilly' highway. When the tire factories were running full bore, workers from WV would come up every sunday, and head south every friday.

Hey Jack thanks for the ride through my home state always good to be back home again. I grew up in a town name Oceana about 50 miles from Beckley. Loved the song.See you on the next run
You missed a few fantastic stops for food on your way south on I 77. #1 I 77 exit 1. EOR TLft @ 1 mile to the Go Mart on the RHS. Plenty of parking and great food. # 2 Beckly I 77 exit 44 Go Mart before the svc plaza. They had the best fried chicken and catfish along with all of the fixin's. You also bypassed the old Mt.Airy Brintel Travel Plaza @ I 77exit 100. The best restaurant @!I encourage drivers to buy a truckstop guide and quit relying on the major chains. You don't know what you are missing out on and it makes your adventure memorable!
As always I enjoy your videos Jack, I am down in southern calif. great song a a real country song, which u can’t say about most songs. Thanks for the ride, be safe out there Jack. Keep them coming
