Two additional bits of info: 1. Against a regular poli lead you do want to at least build up to the dynamic punch. Then it's up to you if you want to bait with the icy wind or full send it. 2. Against a jelli lead, it's advisable that you throw a counter with the poli first and then swap into your quagsire. This can force the jelli into throwing an additional hex, which gives your quag a two mud shot lead instead of 1 if they swap into a ferro. That additional mud shot can force a shield from the ferro that you might not be able to otherwise.
That's why I hate icy wind, that's all it's good for. I've saved countless shields not worrying about DP because I know they'll throw IW at my Pelipper. Another thing that's happened countless times is hitting Ferro with Power-up Punch, farming him down and using one shield, then waiting for them to throw their Poliwrath and blow through the mirror match. Icy Wind is pure bait. It's only useful as a revenge shot when they know they can't make it to DP.

@@bobbyrdayton9866 I actually watch Callum on Toast or itsaxn. itsaxn is quite good, but rarely goes to the level of detail that KPine does on specific mechanics and he plays in very specific Elo ranges with very specific metas, so his experience is hard to replicate. I wanna give a huge thanks for allowing me to recover my elo today. After 3 really crappy sets, I came across this video, dumped a ton of stardust and elite tm (for counter) to complete this team. 🙏
Literally came up with the same team. You have super effective coverage for all types available, so you can hit every pokemon for neutral at worst. A ferro in the back can be a problem. It's good to draw them out with the quag. Don't have the shadow so I always lose that fight. Will need to build one after learning that it wins the 2 shield. Very informative channel.
Even with shadow your not always gonna win. I tried this team with non shadow wrath everything else the exact same and I must say this player got lucky alot to make this team work. Way to may hard counter to wrath get lead for this team to be effective outs9de of getting lucky with the algorithm
Great video and team, referred to you by a friend of mine. I got only positive sets with this team today and climbed up to 2740 elo. Shadow quag on the safe swap is amazing and the knowledge about how to flip those ferro counter swaps is worth a ton of wins. It feels like I can push to legend with this team this week!
Had a terrible day yesterday and went 7-13, but went on a year today and went 20-10 including a couple 5-0 sets. Sitting at 2859 elo now and sticking with the team despite almost never winning switch. It’s nuts how many lost leads can turn into wins if played well with this team. Fingers crossed I can avoid the tap tap tap teams tomorrow I’ve started to see more.
Thanks for the team and the strategies on how to use it! Had to go to PvPoke to realize you need a whooping 114.35 atk and 106.41 def to ensure flipping the twos against ferro. Had to build a new Quag since my rank 5 couldn’t. 😅
It's a very high attack stat to guarantee the mud shot break point, but my quagsire has a decently lower attack than that and still reaches it against most. So while guaranteeing it is nice, it's not necessarily needed to reach it :) Hopefully the team treats you well!
I hit legend with it! after a fall of like 300 points in this stupid rps cup. Climbed all the way back with this team. Thanks a lot for your amazing videos bro
Omg THANK YOU!! I was about to hit expert for the first time during Fantasy Cup when Fossil Cup kicked in and I fell over 500 elo 💔 That shadow Quag tip was a game changer. Back in the 2400's. The game started throwing me a lot of Ludicolo leads for last set! How do you play those out?
Happy to hear the team is working out for you! Ludi leads are very tough but you have to stay in with the poli and build up to the dynamic punch. From there, it's your call to full send the dp or bait with the icy wind, but baiting with the icy wind tends to be the better call as they'll most likely shield your move :)
Replace Quag with Pelipper and then lead him off. You'll be algorithm proof. Also replace icy wind with Power-up Punch to handle mirror matches and opponents you match up poorly with.
It's better to go icy wind against lanturn especially if you're a shield up. It sounds stupid but it works. They end up with like barely an HP. The attack debuffs are so annoying for them to deal with. they'll do nothing against your ferro and have to swap out and eat power whips on the next pokemon.
@@GordonMandt-lf1ek It definitely has some viability, but with poli on the lead, I think the coverage with dp is just better. There’s a real solid argument for pup on poli as a closer tho
