Followed this tutorial to refurbish an n64 I bought that was wrapped in saran wrap in the back of a store. Happy to give that console new life and to have saved myself some money. Thanks 🙏

Wow.. Just by watching this, I feel like I can replicate what your doing. Great demonstration! Maybe I can play my n64 without it bugging out 5-10 seconds later lmfao. Just ordered a phillips #2 to complete this. Thank you =)

    Hi.
I kind of replicated what you did. Not totally, but about 95% of it.
My N64 was freezing games not longer than 10mins after powering on.
It works fine now. Maybe some dust in contacts.
    Thanks a lot mate.

Very cool videos. I was looking on restoring a Japanese version and changing it to read NTSC versions. Now I feel comfortable doing both. Thanks.

How would you recommend to clean the insert cartridge reader? 🤔

    • @totalfix877

There are multiple ways, to me the easiest is just to get a brush with medium strength bristles and dip the brush head or pour a bit of Isopropyl Alcohol on the bristles, then start going through the cartridge reader. Make sure that the alcohol % is 91% or higher, otherwise you can corrode your components.

Great job. Took mine apart and was scared I wouldn't be able to put it back together. Yikes

It’s not too bad, luckily! Glad you were able to take it apart 😅

    What's that work board called?

    • @totalfix877
      @totalfix877  ปีที่แล้ว

Are you referring to the blue mat? If so, that is called a silicone soldering mat.

Yeah, I worked it out. It was a late night question 👍
      Cheers 🍻

Also after watching these video I might do my own TH-cam channel. I'll show myself hunting for these systems, restoring them, and I'll post them on eBay with the link in the video so people know they're truly restored and should pay what a restored system should cost. Still less than DKoldies. That place is a ripoff.

That's awesome! I would definitely love to take a look at some of the restoration processes. Thanks for watching!
