Excellent. Les nuances que peut faire le clavecin y sont, entre notes piquées, tuilage et alternance de claviers, rythmes flexibles. Belle virtuosité..
I have played Byrd on everything from an 16th century Italian harpsichord copy, to a modern piano. Like Bach, Byrd transcends time and instruments well! ( I love the virginal and English bentside instuments, too!) Great observation, though, about the difference in sound from what Byrd played.
What you may havn’t taken the time to notice is that this was played in the same concert in which he played Bach and Haendel. I don’t think a virginal is appropriate to play this kind of 18 century pieces too. He just couldn’t travel with more than one instrument. Please stop pouring your anger.
Absolutely THRILLING!
Fantastic, works, performed by the "Prince" of the harpsichordists, certainly one of the greatest living artists!
Charming.
Exelente. Clavecinista. Gracias.

Ravishing. More of the virginalists please, M. Hantaï.
Diese Musik lässt mich vom Leben träumen.
Absolutely riveting stuff! Phenomenal finger technique, particularly at the end if the ground!
Absolutely glorious.Thank you so much!!
Sublime artistry from Pierre as always but let's spare a thought for the genius of Byrd.

awesome
... che bellezza! Bravo.
The Father of Musicke!
Lovely, just the aesthetically displeasing colour of the harpsichord 😂👀
wrong harpsichord for that literature.
True, but not everyone has a virginal. 😀

It is easier to play these mass of trills and gracements on a virginal. Master Pierre had more work than necessary.
