idk if i'd say the box art is based on the 87 turtles.. looks more like the 2003 turtles to me.. missing pupils in the mask, no letters on their belts, actually holding weapons..
You're not the first person to say that to me, but I think I made my argument for it pretty well, especially since the other 03 turtles games use the art from the series. Honestly its the heads. Those are not the 03 heads.
@InfiniteComboReviews That’s definitely not the 87 Turtles on the box. It's a completely unique art style. The logo is certainly inspired by the original cartoon but was also used for the Smash Bros. clone game TMNT: Smash Up. Despite ripping designs from the 2007 movie and 2003 series respectfully, neither Smash Up nor Arcade Attack were based on any particular incarnation of the TMNT. As far as I'm aware, Konami is the only company that ever made games based on the 2003 series. Ubisoft got the rights to the IP for the 2007 CG film and outside of its direct adaptations, also worked on a remake of Turtles in Time, Smash Up, and Arcade Attack which all synergized with the identity of the brand at the time to varying degrees. For example, the 2007 movie, despite being a pseudo-sequel to the original live action trilogy, featured Karai, a prominent character from the 2003 series, in a role informed only by the show. Season 7 of the 2003 series also revised its art style to resemble the 2007 movie more closely. Even both Smash Up and Turtles in Time featured the 2003 voice actors despite clearly representing different incarnations of the TMNT. The series alone wasn't going to resonate with a mass audience so they unified everything hoping they could catch more flies by using a more familiar logo to older fans, with familiar voices and characters for younger fans, and using either ambiguous or mainstream movie designs, all while grabbing the attention of comic book fans by having original artwork from popular TMNT artists as part of their "storytelling."
@@Turo602 Yeah... that was basically what I said. The cover looks like the 87 turtles at first glance, but upon further inspection it becomes clear that it's not. That said though, the whole Ubisoft line following that trend is an interesting observation. I 100%'ed ReShelled back when it dropped and just figured the new voices and bulkier models was just them using the newer iteration of the turtles. I haven't played Smash Up yet, but based on the cover, I always assumed it was based on the cg movie.
I like the corporate subplot XD. But on a serious note pretty awesome work on the video overall! I've actually been watching a few of your videos and just learning some cool stuff on how to make a video from your work.
It got such terrible contemporary reviews that by the time I finally got around to playing it years later, it wasn't "as bad" as I expected. It's just altogether unremarkable. Somewhat inspired by the post-Fast Forward era of the 4Kids Turtles show. I enjoyed seeing some of the lesser known characters in boss battles, but it's just one of those things where you play through it quickly and forget about it.
Less than 2 minutes in and you are already misrepresenting information so I'm all set on this one, and as a first time viewer will be hesitant to click on any other videos from your channel that I come across. You really must think your viewers are that dim witted that you can try and pass the turtles on that cover off as the "87 turtles, as well as thinking that any kid in 2009 when the game released would even know what the '87 turtles would look like let alone be fooled into thinking that was them on the cover. You need to put more thought behind your videos if this is the way they normally are.

Thanks, though I'm not sure I've I'm the best person to be emulating.

Good way to summarize it. I've practically forgotten it already, which is a shame. The turtles deserve better.
if they made this a good game, I would have loved this game as a kid, I love to watch the show back in 2003😊
Yeah. It's a real shame, though the GBA 2003 TMNT game is pretty good from what I remember.
I've never heard of this game-- I thought at first a TMNT game on DS was a good thing but holy moley look at that bait and switch
And just think. If coop online had been an option, guess who would have taken the AI's spot?
Nice Video ! Sub & Big Like ! And Love Ds Tmnt Games !
Thank you!

So I'm guessing you didn't watch past the 2 minute mark as I address exactly what you're upset about with two separate reasons.
