@@Av8Rmedic911Unreal is just the engine. They are doing the same thing as People of Newberry / Signiti in that they are using unreal store asset packs rather than making some of this stuff themselves. It is more polished though.
This game is produced by PlayWay - producers of Cooking Simulator, Car Mechanic Simulator etc. It means there's a great chance (bigger than I firstly thought) the game is real and will be released.

I understand you're all skeptical because it looks too good to be true and unlike Paralives there was no previous hype to it. First, right two days after the channel was created they posted this, and second, they have 0 information on the game studio or its devs, no Twitter, Instagram, or anything. I recommend waiting until it's released and seeing a TH-camr reviewing it before buying.

Idk I’m not a fan of the graphics tbh… By no means do I dislike nice looking graphics but this looks like it’s make my eyes hurt after playing for awhile. With the sims and paralives the cartoony look just looks good and is charming
I prefer the more realistic graphics, but I understand where you coming from. I hope Paralives updates their graphics a bit because it's too cartoony for me right now. I dislike the Sims 4 graphics quite a bit. I can take cartoony if it has a very realistic feel to it though. Not sure if that makes sense. lol
Almost everything's free assets, even the music used in this video is free royalty. If the developer has some real budget and effort to create something - anything from scratch, you'd think they'd put a bit of character, a bit of life into the teaser trailers, but even this video looks generic. The game itself looks too similar with People of The Newberry and other 'promising' simulation games. I won't cross my fingers but I sure hope there's one good game out there that is at the very least reflective of the visual quality they displayed early on.
Well, unlike "People of Newberry", this game is now listed on Steam. Unless.. they reworked the game into this, IF it's actually made by the same devs.
The game is in alpha it’s no where near done and these type of games take at least 2-6 years depending on the effort so I wouldn’t knock them for an introduction video to their game. It says at the bottom of the screen that the game is in its alpha stage, so in other words this is the concept they’re going for. So I wouldn’t knock them for the unity assets if they aren’t even in their beta stage yet

They're self publishing, so assuming they're start up indies but there no discord links, twitter or any other links to anything aside from youtube which only has one post the trailer. chrome fucking sucks i have a laptop that would over heat somethings when playing games and no joke chrome made it over heat just by being open wiith only one tab firefox on the other hand runs great even with 5 to 20 pus tabs open 24/7 yeah i always have a lot of tabs open

Honestly even if this isn't a mere scam, I doubt a simulation game could attract that many players with such graphics. The characters lowkey look like they came from gta 5, they look so emotionless and too detailed but in an unnecessary, lowkey unappealing way. What has shaped simulation games since the beginning isn't the realistic aspect, but how quirky, funny even totally unrealistic and crazy it is while still feeling relatable when it needs to. Making cartoonish characters (the sims obviously) definitely helped the most with that. Even TS4 which lacks depth in many areas still feels very lively and all thanks to the way it looks. Not to mention most sims players aren't gamers and might struggle with a game with too detailed graphics (that seems to sacrifice fps for it lmao), so even tho I'm 80% convinced this isn't real, just in case it is, I think it'd be for the best to stay away from hyper realistic characters, it strips away their charm.
I think it could attract a different market. What some people I know, who would never touch the sims, hate is the cartoony aspect and feeling that it’s too safe. I’ve played the sims franchise since it first cane out and even I’m beginning to find ts4 childish. So I welcome any type of interpretation that can make EA sweat.

I played life sims my whole life and I modded my sims games for years to achieve hyper realistic sims. Especially in Sims 3. There's quite a lot of simmers who prefer more realistic graphics.

Same here. I don't play Sims 4. Tried it twice and couldn't get into it. Been playing Sims 3 and hoping 5 will be better. I'm excited for this and Paralives.
If this is real, that will mean that the Sims franchise really needs to step up their game with the Sims 5. This and Paralives (if this is real) will completely change the life simulation genre.

Finally we will be freed from the limited control of Ea games and not only that but also expansions many of them with no purpose for players other than for the money they earn. That is, items that could come more or without the need for a 6-item pack, for example. I hope it comes soon as I am looking forward to venturing into this new game. What’s crazy is that those items are the exact brand items I see in real life, so are they allowed to do that? Like I thought you had to make things up unless your advertising. I just hope the gameplay part is detailed, the focus shouldn’t be too much on graphics. Being able to actually “go” to work would be great too
Can you address whether or not you have any affiliation with the project "People of Newberry"? And what do you plan on adding to AlterLife to make it unique and set it apart from other games in the genre? Any details you can share with us would be highly appreciated and would help to establish the legitimacy of AlterLife I want to believe that this is a legitimate game made by a legitimate new company, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. But like many others, I'm highly skeptical.
This does not look real in any way, shape or form, the characters look like basic character models you see in any third rate game and the blue balls look like the same ones paralives used for their furniture in early development, as well as the computer part of the trailer, plus the cloth on the couch looks like you used Daz3D to make place it.
Pre alpha, and yet there's so many weird little details like the cucumber slicing into individual slices? That seems like something you would add in after the more important programming. Very sketchy.

I hope the developer won't be intimidated by annoying Simmer mobs. I'm just gonna say cuz it's eventually gonna be common knowledge this is the same developer of People of Newbery that flopped when Simmers found out he purchased aspects of the game. Yes people indie game developers gotta do whatever it takes. As long as there is a great game in the end as an alternative to this insane Sims franchise that is ripping us all off then great! We should all be super supportive so that it has that potential please don't scare him away again. Also using vocabulary related to The Sims doesn't apply here either. Quit asking if there will be mods, custom content, this or that expansion. Let's just be supportive and talk about future development when it comes to that. Obviously this guy is legit about this game if he deleted everything about the previous and re-titled it. Let the guy finish the game and then ask him your bazillion questions once there's a release date.

Same here. I don't play Sims 4. Tried it twice and couldn't get into it. Been playing Sims 3 and hoping 5 will be better. I'm excited for this and Paralives.

If this is real, that will mean that the Sims franchise really needs to step up their game with the Sims 5. This and Paralives (if this is real) will completely change the life simulation genre.

no, People of Newbery (actually Signiti, the developer has changed the name) is made by Russian studio, this production is Polish
@@mattreef5269 They're using many of the same store-bought unreal engine packs, which is where the suspicions and similarities come from. Given the problems with Signiti, I'm not surprised people are skeptical.

Finally we will be freed from the limited control of Ea games and not only that but also expansions many of them with no purpose for players other than for the money they earn. That is, items that could come more or without the need for a 6-item pack, for example. I hope it comes soon as I am looking forward to venturing into this new game. Very successful in development. 😎👍

No more information after two years? I could be wrong, but I'm sure there are game designers that release a project video, then ask for grass roots investment. Then take what they can get and disappear.

Had this on my wishlist for almost a year now. Just waiting on something to happen.
What’s crazy is that those items are the exact brand items I see in real life, so are they allowed to do that? Like I thought you had to make things up unless your advertising. I just hope the gameplay part is detailed, the focus shouldn’t be too much on graphics. Being able to actually “go” to work would be great too

I want to believe that this is a legitimate game made by a legitimate new company, so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. But like many others, I'm highly skeptical.
It's like the afterlife team needs dopamine to keep on with production so they make thousands of trailers for us to hype them up
This does not look real in any way, shape or form, the characters look like basic character models you see in any third rate game and the blue balls look like the same ones paralives used for their furniture in early development, as well as the computer part of the trailer, plus the cloth on the couch looks like you used Daz3D to make place it.
Seems fake or an awful probably buggy game with stolen assets
