    Perfect. I have temporarily focused only on tension because I wasn't sure how to calculate buckling in members under compression in a truss. I can manually calculate cross sectional requirements in different materials in members under tension (no simultaneous equation solving needed for my design) but I can see how calculations for members under compression would quickly cause mental trauma. Looks like your s/w is a perfect fit for my requirements. Thanks for the exceptionally clear explanation of the maths.

    Thank you Trevor and SkyCiv team for this great video. It is quite informative. I had idea about yield force and critical buckling force but couldn't understand the big picture. In this video I understood that why we need to calculate buckling force is because we want it to be greater than member's yield force so that member can use its full potential. Otherwise member fails before reaching its full potential(yield point).
