One Beer is not only hilarious, the message was quite clear with Buster and Hamptons exchange! Hampton: Buster! You dont Drink!! Buster: I know. But today im teaching the evils of Alcohol!😂
Honestly wish the ending where they made fun of the PSA episode was a ongoing joke in the episode instead where they keep mentioning the run time and studio heads keep annoying them to do it. But they probably had to hide it with the whispering at the end
The OG Tiny Toon Adventures series is something I can always come back to, for reasons that the Looniversity reboot lacks; Babs and Buster Bunny being an unrelated couple, variety in its episodes, characters, and locations, gag credits and end tags in the closing credits, not being afraid to do take thats to its competitors, and high-quality video games from Konami. If somebody competent were running Warner Bros., they'd bring Adventures to MAX and Konami's Tiny Toons games to modern consoles in a compilation. I did an entire video rant on the cancellation of the latter, specifically the downfall of Warner Bros. under the evil David Zaslav's thumb.
I remember an Episode of "Bravestarr" where a Boy was straight up un alived by taking substances. He did not come back through some miracle, didnt learn his lesson, no. Just gone. His younger Brother was even shown crying and all. Man, that felt so heavy to me as a Kid.
It’s debatable whether 1980s cartoons were universally perceived as purely children’s media. This perspective seems more applicable to the United States. In contrast, other regions, such as Europe and Japan, produced 1980s shows that, while aimed at children, often had mature themes. A great example is Alfred J. Kwak, a children’s show that tackled complex and mature subjects.
I remember this was one of my fav episodes bc of the animation and the humor and stuff, and I remember as a kid it was the kind of thing that would make me create stories with my own ocs, mentally bc I wasnt good enough to draw them, you know, settings you create at bed time to make yourself entertained while slowly getting to sleep. So as obsessed as I became with cartoon episodes in which they are drunk, as obsessed as I was, as a kid, with stories that include this theme, funnily I never got to drink as much as to get sooo drunk or alcoholic. I guess it depends on how each person is raised? Or the ppl they surround themselves of? Also OMG THAT FOOTLOOPS CEREAL AD 😂😂😂
This episode was never actually banned. There was a now-lost PopArena video where he looked through old TV listings and found out that it was rerun pretty frequently.
Its kinda funny One Beer was not only banned from Fox in later airings...but it was featured on The Hub! Quite a bit!! Also, its rhanks to this episode that the volume 3 DVD goes for a very hefty price!😢
The irony of execs thinking the message should come from characters who were supposed to be “Looniversity students”… 😆 Tiny Toons and Animaniacs seriously paved a lot of way for the cartoon resurgence!
The thing about cartoon characters like these is that they're only "children" when it's convenient for the writing. Otherwise the adult writers use them as avatars to make pop culture references and adult specific jokes that would fly over the heads of actual children watching but their parents will get.
Love how the looney tunes show got away with spargle having bugs being addicted and crazy on that stuff. It's how they should do and be able to get away with these themes in current day without being preachy
Hey Steve I got a recommendation for you. The Digimon movies. They released the redubbed versions which in the west was 3 movies crammed into one. They can be pretty dark as the first one has a giant parrot losing a wing and has its lower beak destroyed. Just saying 😁
I remember when the show Dinosaurs had to do an episode about drugs which involved a "Happy Plant" that makes any dinosaur that eats it extremely high, and a bunch of them end up getting addicted(up to and hilariously including Earl's hotheaded boss) and concludes with the son Robbie addressing the audience as the set's being disassembled where he pleads them to stay away from drugs so they won't need to make episodes with these PSAs anymore. It also definitely focused on the comedic angle.
I don't know about Fox, but when this series was airing on Nickelodeon in syndication I definitely remember watching it as a kid here in the US. Maybe it slipped by one time, or it was only banned in the UK.
UK viewer here, I have hazy memories of seeing this episode as a kid think it was on CITV... But it's really 50/50 it was that of CBBC, definitely wasn't a satellite channel, was surprised a few years ago when I heard it was a banned episode.
This episode actually wasn't really banned, there is evidence that it did air at least twice on Fox Kids & a few times on Nickelodeon & much later in the 2010's on The Hub.
I think I vaguely remember the episode. It was still the era of "Tonite, on a Very Special Episode of..." so it just came off as paar for the course. There was a cartoon I saw and keep trying to remember which show it was. The villian wanted an evil sorceress to devine info for him so she goes to a pit and summons dark messengers. A swarm of golden bees errupt out of the pit then surround her. They begin to sting her mercilessly and she shouts and cries out then falls to a heap on the floor cackling The bees return to the pit then she weakly gets up off of the floor and relays the info they imparted to her to the baddy. I remember thinking _"THIS"_ is a kids cartoon?!!
Hi! You could try this Czech creepy stop motion animation "Krabat" ("Sorcerer's apprentice"/"čerodějův učeň" - in Czech) it is based on a book that represents Hitler and soldiers in Germany. It is great. Or some other stuff from creator Karel Zeman
You should check out the animated ALF series episode titled "The Gut Squisher". Its the shows take on criticisms of over the top, violent films of actors like Arnie Shwartzenhimer (...can never spell his name). The whole show was morality plays chocked full of pop culture references.
I actually used to work in a bar and served all kinds of drinks but ironically I don’t drink the only time when I did was that wine on my 18th birthday and I hated the taste
I know they had a good intention of teaching about addiction, but I’m almost convinced that what got this episode banned is not the subject matter of alcohol, but because it was involved with characters who are confirmed to be children. Yikes. :/
Ok wtf the fuck does he say at the start of the video!?!? " death, taxes, and... something get ban" I don't understand that part I get if he said "some thing getting banned. But he said "something get ban"
pls you should do Electric Soldier Porygon next on the banned episode series as that episode not only got porygon along with its evolution forms banned in anime but it also caused the new anime tv guildliness to be made and thus anime with flashing seizure lights were no more as to prevent future similar from that ever happening again.
I dont remember this Being ban. Was it from a dvd? I know i might of seen a video on the episode but am very sure i watched it on tv. I seen a few of ban episodes before they were ban.
@zerokura "Elephant Issues" has indeed been released on DVD, on Tiny Toon Adventures Volume 3: Crazy Crew Rescues in 2013. Originally, Warner Bros. wanted to exclude the episode from the DVD release because of the "One Beer" segment, but added it in the final product due to popular demand. I'm glad they did, too, since if they hadn't, we would have missed out on "Why Dizzy Can't Read" and "C.L.I.D.E. and Prejudice" (which honestly don't get talked about enough in favor of "One Beer").
I didn't watch the original, but I think I must have seen the clips in a yt video, and I think I assumed it was a lot darker as a child so it sorta traumatised me 😭
Even though they warned me about the evils of alcohol, I still ended up becoming an alcoholic. (Don't worry, I've been sober for a few years now. Feels great!)
Weird, I remember watching this episode so many times when I was a kid, it was one of the funniest! I'm from Brazil so maybe it skipped being banned here? 🤔
I still think that the episode could have had it's beer and drink it at the same time! Have one of the trio dislike the taste, tried getting the other two to stop and they still die at the end. Also, having responsible drinkers ingage with them at some loint would have helped teach that beer isn't the problem, but the drinker. Other than that, yeah... snappy art design and animation!
ironically in the original transformers Megatron and the deceptions get drunk in an episode and Megs i swear says "didn't have to sneak around in these ugly ass disguises" im sure its supposed to be earth but with him slurring his voice, But yeah each generation of cartoons took things differenty, like the old flintstones and jetsons the 60s run, not 80s, had smoking often, so I think episode bans are time period wise.
There's only one beer left Rappers screaming all in our ears like we're deaf Tempt me, do a number on the label Eat up all they emcees and drink 'em under the table
I feel like I caught this on its initial run. BUT what would that put me at, never mind. NO, there's no way I would have seen this. Came to the states in 1991 from a Romanian Orphanage, so, season 2 would have aired in 1991. I wouldn't register it as a 3 year old. But I do feel like I caught this on air. Adult me has definitely sought it out.
What a great video to watch after a hard busy day a video review of the banned episode of tiny toon adventures Great video as always Steve your videos always makes me happy I definitely recommend Code Lyoko next Steve that show was my childhood from the plot the characters and the animation and music the theme never gets old and want to know what your thoughts are on the show Great review as always Steve and merry Christmas to one of my favourite reviewers 🙂🎄
i fully understand the ban cause think about the situation of this airing on normal tv kids come in mid episode or stop before the end and just see drunken silky cartoon antics without the clear warning of the ending it work ok as a while but with the amount of things they cover befor egrytjng to the consequences if you miss that it is kind of glorifying
I hope You’ll do a review on The Transformers: The Movie. Back in the day, it was criticized for The violent deaths depicted in it (probably an entire generation is traumatized by Death of Optimus Prime) But now, it has a status of a cult film.
*Attempt #24* Would you consider reviewing the Redwall animated series?❤️ The show revolves around various woodland animals defending their home, Redwall Abby, from several evil factions who seek to control it. One of Steve’s famous quotes “cheers Sonic”
He must Review the 2005 film *Hoodwinked*
One Beer is not only hilarious, the message was quite clear with Buster and Hamptons exchange!
Hampton: Buster! You dont Drink!!
Buster: I know. But today im teaching the evils of Alcohol!😂
"Early to rise, early to bed; makes a man healthy but socially dead." That's... huh, very adult. Definitely missed that as a child.
Honestly wish the ending where they made fun of the PSA episode was a ongoing joke in the episode instead where they keep mentioning the run time and studio heads keep annoying them to do it.
But they probably had to hide it with the whispering at the end
"These are children" yeah and that opens a whole other can of worms regarding many scenes.
Children attending a _university_ , yeah. So clearly meant to be a bit older than their stature would indicate.
Massive respect for including G1 S2 intro
Paul Dini wrote a lot of the stuff for Tiny Toons which is crazy seeing as he was one of the best writers for Batman TAS years later.
This video reinforced my want to have a beer with my boy Steve.
Awesome and hilarious as usual, brother.
Cheers!
I find it funny how so many things can be banned over fear that the children watching have neglectful parents
I remember an Episode of "Bravestarr" where a Boy was straight up un alived by taking substances. He did not come back through some miracle, didnt learn his lesson, no. Just gone. His younger Brother was even shown crying and all. Man, that felt so heavy to me as a Kid.
It's wild how as a kid i was more bothered by the kids driving under the influence on a public road got to go to heaven at the end.
The irony is Tiny Toons had a PSA about cigarettes that was done better, without going over the top with the message.
As a matter of fact, this was aired since i was a kid. Boy, what a cartoon for kids...
That show even had this dictator that has some parallels to a certain one responsible for WWII....
Also OMG THAT FOOTLOOPS CEREAL AD 😂😂😂
How dare TH-cam hide this from me for 22 seconds.
How dare they hide this from me for 10 minutes.
@ThreeXKrazie03 Shocking!
My farts are better than Steve’s farts
I really don't like that TH-cam does that it's very annoying
Check the banned Captain Planet episode about drugs, it's legendary
I was just watching the episode One Bear earlier today and now Steve is reviewing it
I love your videos! They always make my day a lot better! Thank you so much Steve!
YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR ANOTHER ''BANNED EPISODE'' REVIEW!
This episode was never actually banned. There was a now-lost PopArena video where he looked through old TV listings and found out that it was rerun pretty frequently.
Thanks for mentioning that video.
The video is being blocked due to copyright issues.
It can actually still be found on the Internet Archive.
One beer: insert MF Doom lyrics here!
Gonna watch this before it gets banned
@justinsabino8535 Specifically by the evil David Zaslav.
Its kinda funny One Beer was not only banned from Fox in later airings...but it was featured on The Hub! Quite a bit!! Also, its rhanks to this episode that the volume 3 DVD goes for a very hefty price!😢
It actually wasn't banned, there is evidence that it did air at least a couple more times on Fox Kids as well as on Nickelodeon a few times as well!
@r66fplaysgames yeah I remember. I think it's kind of cool that the hub actually had no problems airing it whatsoever 😂
Not sure how but I believe I saw this ep when I was a kid in TV (I'm from Poland btw)
I saw it on Kids WB in 1999 one morning and still wish I could find proof that it aired

I think it would be cool to see you review Jim Carry's A Christmas Carol for the holidays. Love your videos!
I remember the beer episode I swear to god I remember
LOVE banned episodes! Thanks For this! This one wa great 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Why don't the Tiny Toon characters get more attention its like they were confined to there own show accept Elmira for some reason.
That's right Elmira Duff was added to the last season of Pinky and the Brain
I remember seeing it when i was young. So they probably showed it once, and never again(in my area that is).
Love how the looney tunes show got away with spargle having bugs being addicted and crazy on that stuff. It's how they should do and be able to get away with these themes in current day without being preachy
I think it's stupit that this one was banned, it scares kids in all the right ways: Alkohol is wrong and shouldn't be consume, or people can die.
Life's all about dying. Ain't no straight path really.
We do as best we're able to manage our progress and our vices...
Hey Steve I got a recommendation for you. The Digimon movies. They released the redubbed versions which in the west was 3 movies crammed into one. They can be pretty dark as the first one has a giant parrot losing a wing and has its lower beak destroyed. Just saying 😁
5:04 So are Buster, Plucky, and Hampton
The original title was "The Banned Epsisode of TinyToons"
It's still called the banned episode of Tiny Toons
@CrAzYGAMINGWOLF "epsisode" instead of "episode"
@@knezzo1646 Oh I see.
It's still showing up like that for me
babe he uploaded
I remember when the show Dinosaurs had to do an episode about drugs which involved a "Happy Plant" that makes any dinosaur that eats it extremely high, and a bunch of them end up getting addicted(up to and hilariously including Earl's hotheaded boss) and concludes with the son Robbie addressing the audience as the set's being disassembled where he pleads them to stay away from drugs so they won't need to make episodes with these PSAs anymore. I remember watching that episode in the morning when I was a kid but I'm also from Denmark. We weren't as quick to ban things back then as we are now.
Please do the Disney's gargoyles banned episode
I remember this episode being air here in Mexico
Hope you can reupload the videos of the banned Tom and Jerry episodes and the Dinosaur anime movie.
Since you reviewed the 90s Sonic shows, are you also planning to do the modern Sonic shows?
I think I vaguely remember the episode. It was still the era of "Tonite, on a Very Special Episode of..." so it just came off as paar for the course.

Ah my favorite episode of tiny toons as a kid, the one where the three main characters become alcoholics and fuckin die.
As far i remember in German release in VHS. they actually also included the Episode, maybe even on TV to my theory
4:59 oh yes remember when Buster and Babs weren't related and actually had romantic feelings towards eachother goodtimes
I districtly remember seeing this as a kid, and thought it was odd. Seeing it as an adult, it's funny.
He misspelled the title of the video as well
You should check out the animated ALF series episode titled "The Gut Squisher". Its the shows take on criticisms of over the top, violent films of actors like Arnie Shwartzenhimer (...can never spell his name). The whole show was morality plays chocked full of pop culture references.

And it’s still not the Godzilla minus one review!!!!!!!!
You should review banned episodes of South Park they’re fascinating to watch
Ok wtf the fuck does he say at the start of the video!?!? " death, taxes, and... something get ban" I don't understand that part

90s cartoons were out of control back then...
This was an episode you can tell was aimed at adults. If it was a from a show that was aimed at adults you know it would air no problem.
I didn't watch the original, but I think I must have seen the clips in a yt video, and I think I assumed it was a lot darker as a child so it sorta traumatised me 😭
"These are children, btw"
... Looniversity. These are University students, brah.
You should check out "Man's best friend" (the banned Ren and Stimpy episode).

Ah tiny toons... good times :'3
There's only one beer left
Rappers screaming all in our ears like we're deaf
Tempt me, do a number on the label
Eat up all they emcees and drink 'em under the table

Do You Take Ideas or Requests. If So I got Great Ideas for The Future.
Would have been perfectly acceptable in the 90's.
What a great video to watch after a hard busy day a video review of the banned episode of tiny toon adventures

Heh, yeah.
Fox banning this gem of an episode and yet Nickelodeon looking at
Ren & Stimpy
LET ER RIP!!!
They literally said in the segment that they were showing the evils of alcohol so how was showing all of that got it banned
Quick heads up, I'm gonna keep reccomending Belladonna Of Sadness for every new video you do until you eventually review it.
There was a lot of weird stuff about feet back then. Was Dan Schneider already about?
Rude Removal. U should definitely check out that banned episode of Dexter's Laboratory.
No worse than Dumbo and the Pink Elephants.
*Attempt #24*
Would you consider reviewing the Redwall animated series?❤️
The show revolves around various woodland animals defending their home, Redwall Abby, from several evil factions who seek to control it.
Its a childhood favorite of mine, but its a show with dark and depressing elements sprinkled in...that was broadcasted on PBS (being one of the few animated series to focus on story, rather than education).

Getting obsessed with sex seems to just be a part of growing up/ maturing.
So it's not a surprise that the beer makes them that way.
I'll say these mature episodes were the most realistic.
Golden Boy, please.
You should review raggedy Ann and Andy a musical adventure!!!
Also do a review of the banned porygon pokemon episode
Please review the magic roundabout and the blue cat please
steve word of advice put these banned epsisodes videos on google drive and put them on 1 of your youtube post
