There's a lotta research on the ways that filler words invite more collaborative conversations whereas the more 'direct' (i.e. masculine, white, 'rational') tend to discourage others from joining in, honestly I don't have the background to verify this, but it seems true in my experience. i could totally be wrong but if its from platonic philosophy, the bit about "spooks of the mind" ive vaguely heard phrases like that and i believe its "spokes" as in like the fixed axel of a chariot wheel
