Post Human Measurement theory

Today, we delve into the intriguing concept of a post-human personhood measurement theory. But what exactly does that mean? Well, post-humanism challenges the traditional notion of personhood being solely based on one's species. Instead, it proposes a system of rights and privileges that transcends such boundaries. However, this raises an important question: how do we measure personhood in a po...

      @@simplypreposterous3093 I think the colour palette could be interesting. It reminds me of that cool 90s vibe, but it takes on minimalist styles which don't really blend together. Maybe try either keep clean straight lines and minimalist colour or go for a more bright and slightly detailed 90s approach? But don't stress about it too much! I don't get the example. You can spend infinitely but not a big sum? Makes no sense. One could never afford a car or house OR maybe the first one would be free if it's within the value one provides. That wouldn't work because it's not a constant value and saving isn't possible. But let's say it works like that, then it just would be confusing as to how much money you actually have. Account says 50 but it can be 1 or 5000.

    • @simplypreposterous3093
      @simplypreposterous3093 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Since it is a representation of labor and since that labor has a inverse relationship with need, it allows for theoretically infinite spending. The reason that infinine spending would not be practically possible is that in order for the relativistic spending to be maximized, one has to spend all of their money in one location before moving on to another location and repeating the process for infinity. Each new location reset their real account (not fiat generated from decentralized banking) to its original state at the most recent pay period. So theoretically a person could continue spending forever but that spending is limited by number of locations, size of original account, and the rate of pay. Effectively you account is like a repeating budget for every location you go to and you can extend it once or twice but that is it.

    Relativistic spending sounds stupid. As you describe it at 6:45, It's just money in a market in reverse. Money as we have it already motivates people to contribute to the best of their ability and it already pays according to time and quality of work. Basically the same as now with the remaining question how capital is paid.

    • @simplypreposterous3093
      @simplypreposterous3093 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "money as we have it already motivates people to contribute to the best of their ability and it already pays according to time and quality of work." This is factually incorrect. Anyone can see it simply by being in the workforce. If everyone was working to the best of their ability then there would not be an unemployment issue and there would not be a productivity issue. Also there is no country that is currently paying exactly what is deserving of a person's labor. Reason being that our currency is based on the perception of value without any consideration of labor that is creating value.

    I don't really see how authoritarian De-Leonism is authoritarian considering how those policies are necessary for that form of governance to survive long term (considering how all forms of non capitalist governments face international sabotage, E.G Chile). That aside the video is pretty good and unbiased, as a newcomer to this channel I was worried that authoritarian De-Leonism would be called authoritarian due to being anti electoral (which for anyone who needs to know means that they want to establish the ideology via revolution instead of bourgeoisie elections).

    I was randomly suggested this video. Your content subject looks interesting, but this video (at least) presupposes some knowledge for a "basics" video. What is the goal of Card Communism? What is a Fredonian currency? Maybe 30 seconds or description that gets someone up to speed would help. This feels like two minutes of information in a 6 minute video. But the idea that you can even have daily or weekly performance measured in an intellectual job is hard to take seriously. (Heck, it's hard to take seriously in a physical labor! Who is measuring it? How do you account for retaliation? Is there some sort of bell curve? What if you have some sort of injury or impact to performance? What happens when someone burns themselves out? How do you account for vacation? How do you account for larger goods or services that require saving? You're saying this resets every day - how would a trip to London work, for example? How do vacations work?

    My thoughts on the Political Compass: (1) The question shouldn't be whether the political compass is valid, but whether it's a better or worse way to describe political beliefs than other models (for example, the traditional left-right spectrum). The key thing to keep in mind is that the "political compass" doesn't describe objective reality but is just sort of a shorthand way of describing political views within a certain social/political/cultural context. (2) The original "world's smallest political quiz" was absolutely created as libertarian political propaganda; the questions are pretty vague and are worded in a way that encourages agreement, and the effect is that it vastly overestimates the importance/popularity of libertarian ideas. I don't think that invalidates the idea of thinking of political beliefs as being on different axes though. (3) My experience -- both in analyzing quantitative data and in just talking to people -- is that the "social freedom" and "economic freedom" axes are not really orthogonal, and that a single axis (left-right) actually describes most political belief and behavior. With that said, two, or three, or four axes may be useful. I think beyond that though the marginal utility of adding additional axes approaches zero. There may or may not be infinite axes but only the first few of them are actually useful in terms of sorting people into groups large enough to wield power in a democracy. (4) My experience has been that second most important axis is not so much about social liberty but about social progress vs traditional authority. As noted the first axis (more or less economic equality vs liberty axis) is the strongest signal most of the time. Though the relative importance of each axis probably varies quite a bit. (5) Furthermore, most people have ambiguous political beliefs that are not really ideologically consistent. In many cases, people's beliefs can be contradictory (for example, wanting universal health care but not wanting to pay taxes necessary to fund it). Beliefs can vary based on mood, who they are around/listening to what is in the news, etc; for example my own views on gun control tend to shift around depending on how recent/shocking the last mass shooting has been. That does not mean that people with inconsistent beliefs are "in the middle", but that their ideological belief system cannot be boiled down to a single point on a cartesian plane. I think it is better to describe people more as occupying a region than a single x,y (or x,y,z) point. Some people (particularly well-educated, high-information voters) tend to occupy a small region. Others tend to have more esoteric/inconsistent views and would occupy a larger region.

    • @texasyojimbo
      @texasyojimbo ปีที่แล้ว

      Additional thought: a lot of where people stand on a political issue is a function of reconciling/prioritizing different values, and this sometimes leads to people with different value paradigms agreeing on things. I was in the post office yesterday buying stamps and struck up a conversation with a guy who was applying for a passport. He mentioned that he had just gotten an ATF tax stamp. I said "glad to hear, I've heard there is a big backlog for ATF tax stamps; people shouldn't have to wait that long to get them." He obviously agreed on that, but went on to say that the ATF is "no bueno", an opinion I didn't agree with. In this case, my key value is that government should provide quality service to taxpayers; his value was individual liberty re: firearm ownership. We both agree that ATF backlogs are bad, but for different reasons, and those differences can become important when the topic shifts to other questions, like "should there be a federal regulatory agency for alcohol, tobacco and firearms?"

    I don't like the political compass. An authoritarian left-wing and a libertarian right-wing don't make any sense to me. If you're right-wing you want wealth and power concentrated for one reason or another, if you're left-wing you want it decentralized.

    • @simplypreposterous3093
      @simplypreposterous3093 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most arguments like that are simply a matter of perspective. That perspective is typically shaped by the familial system you grew up in. (Even if you did not grow up in a family the primary familial system of the society you live in applys) For example, the USA has a primary familial system of absolute nuclear. This means that not all family members are treated equal but all family members are given significant autonomy. What this does to their perspective is inherently tie competition to freedom in the minds of people raised in that system. To those same people equality is tied with authoritarianism. Even though we know none of this is true, and may even have evidence to back it up, there are many people who cannot easily comprehend it not being true. Thus these types of beliefs effect politics and these views exist in an unironic form.
