Everything coming from nothing, “inflation”, the antimatter miraculously disappearing, stars miraculously forming as well as galaxies, planets and moons in retrograde - the exact opposite of what the secular theory states, magnetic fields supernaturally reenergizing themselves, the moon being here for “4.5 billion years” even though it couldn’t have been even 1.5 billion years ago, inanimate chemicals spontaneously generating life, etc. (ad nauseam).
That same thought has crossed my mind, and boy oh boy would I love to explore space. I've loved space and the things in it since I was quite young. GOD is so amazing and creative. Just look at the electromagnetic spectrum, we can only see a sliver of it. How amazing would it be if we could see the whole thing!? I can imagine being in a spiritual body capable of moving in any direction at speeds that would crush a normal mortal body, and we can travel to the outer edge of the universe and back in moments.
In late 2006 I had a crisis of faith and began studying through the sciences in response. Space quickly stood as the thing that brought me back to Jesus. The Lord taught me of a truth I’ve carried since…this limitless space that our human minds cannot comprehend is a mere grain of sand in God’s hands…yet he looks through all of it and says we’re his favorite creation...so much so that he chose to die on a cross so we could be together again. Now every time I see the stars in reminded that of truth.
I'd like to sign up for the club of people who are amazed by space. Whether it's becoming an astronaut or astrophysicist, my dream is to be involved in the space frontier. Maybe we need to be more creative and figure out how to bend the fabric of space, rather than trying to traverse those impossible distances directly. Maybe God made the universe so huge because he wants us to explore all those wonderful, colorful, spectacular worlds one day. We would never be bored. The entire cosmos would truly be the ultimate gift for God to give his children. Light is really amazing and beautiful. It's so easy to take God's creation for granted. I have a really crazy question. Sorry if this is too much. But given that we are created in God's image, do our words have the power to create an entire planet?
Lol! With all the evil we are capable of, perhaps ElElyon- the God of all gods, the Creator of everything- limited our powers. If you want to know what you WILL be able to do you must accept His payment for evil!
I don't get this: we could see distances with one telescope but then we get a better telescope and can suddenly see so much further - but that light etc didn't suddenly get that much closer
It is a matter of the quality and resolution that a telescope has. If you look at a pair of new, unwashed blue jeans from across the room they are blue and there is no variation of color. When you see it closer up, you can probably see some color variations. With a magnifying glass you will be able to see that not all the threads are the same color. Some are much darker blue than others. Some may even be white. Or, you can think about a bird flying in the sky. A friend might see it, but you can't. If they hand you their binoculars, then it is clear as day. You just didn't have the resolution capability without the binoculars that you had with the binoculars. For centuries we had to build bigger and bigger telescopes on earth, but we have the earth's atmosphere which can blur and hinder our view of the stars. You can also get dirt and smudges on the lenses. Eventually we got telescopes into space, which helped with the atmospheric distortions. Then, we built larger telescopes which are located further from the earth and have better resolution.
Its called light gathering. Typical mirrors on telescopes are circular. As you get larger you have more power to gather light. Area of circle is 3.1415×r^2 so as the radius increases you have a larger surface area. Stars are rated in magnitudes which is brightness. Bigger mirrors can see farther or less bright objects because they gather more light.
Has anyone seen papers or articles that consider the heavens being stretched out? That phrase is used many times in the Bible. It actually seems similar to the inflation that the evolutionist needs to use to explain the expansion of the universe. It would affect many things such as red shift and the size/age of the universe and may even cause a shift in radiometric dating. I haven’t run across any articles on this and would like to know explore it more.
Look up Barry Setterfield's TH-cam channel and he has a website also with lots of paperwork about astronomy. He has written science curriculum for high school, etc. Plus, he explains the problems with the currently taught cosmological models, and how the Plasma Universe model solves all the problems with the other models and how it is the only model where the scientific testing matches what we see in our universe! For instance, think about the sun. If it was a huge nuclear furnace that was 25 million degrees at its core. This huge furnace would be producing light at its core where it is fusing atomic matter together. But, when there is a sun spot, it is black/dark under the outer layer of the sun! It should be brighter the deeper inside the sun you can see. Also, why are the Umbra and Penumbra layers of the sun at 4,000 and 6,000 Kelvin, and the surface at 10,000 Kelvin, instead of being hotter the deeper inside the sun?? Then, just above the surface of the sun, it reaches 1 million degrees Kelvin. Scientists are just like the rest of us. If we have believed and taught a specific view for years, decades even, they have a very hard time being willing to accept that they might be wrong and their work and effort might have been wasted. This is why they say that it requires generations to die before new ideas will finally be accepted and taught. Enjoy Barry Setterfield's materials! He is one of the few Scientists that is willing to follow the evidence!!!
Expansion of the universe has two possible causes (hypothetically). Either space is expanding, or stars and galaxies are literally moving farther apart. Either way, the rate of apparent expansion is actually not what bb cosmology predicts or expects. It appears to be accelerating, not just expanding at a constant rate. as it turns out, very distant objects should appear larger than normal due to a lensing effect if space itself is expanding. But that isn’t what is actually observed. Instead, very distant objects look like what is expected if they are actually moving away from us in euclidean space (normal 3 dimensional space). Dr Jason Lisle has very recently published an article in the Answers Research Journal detailing how we can tell that the stars and galaxies are actually moving, and that space itself is not expanding. He calls this the doppler model, citing red shift as the result of actual physical movement, not spacial expansion. Dr Lisle demonstrates how the bb model actually misses the observable data by a glaring amount.
Russ Humphries many years ago used that reference as an element of his cosmogony. I think he's changed that over the years, but I agree it is an interesting description because it is repeated many times in scripture.

I homeschool… one day I taught a lesson to help my children understand the truth about light, time and the age of the earth I held up a bran new lightbulb that had just been created the year we were actually in, I explained that to my children, then I said “as soon as I screw this in to our lamp (I did) and turn the lamp on (I did) this light will now take 1000 years to travel from earth in space 1000 light years, but this bulb is not 1000 years old, scientists use the length of time light takes to travel to determine the age of a thing they see in space, but just because light takes a certain length of time travel does not mean that thing is that age” Yes we see the light from these things we love in the night sky, and yes the light from these things takes a certain length of time to travel, but no, this does not mean the things we see are that old…
Thanks for confusing to your kids. The furthest stars in our Galaxy are 100,000 light years away, which means we are seeing what they were like 100, 000 years ago. The nearest galaxy to us is 2.4milllion light years away, so the Universe is at least that old.
@@StudentDad-mc3pu Speaking of galaxies, by about 1784 scientists recognized the universe as being the Milky Way of 8,000 x 1,500 Light Years (LY). By the beginning of the 1900s they decided that the Milky Way was actually 23,000 x 6,000 LY. (And they determined that the Andromeda Nebula was at a distance of 19 LY from us in the Milky Way.) About 90-100 years ago the dimensions of the galaxy were revised by scientists to 55,000 x 11,000 LY. (Now days it is estimated to be about 100,000 x 20,000) In 1924 it was discovered that the Andromeda Nebula was actually the Andromeda Galaxy!! and was at a distance of 750,000 LY - Obviously NOT in the Milky Way galaxy! In 1952 that distance was changed by scientists to 2,300,000 LY. They now state the distance to be over 2,500,000 LY and getting closer - they say that eventually the Andromeda Galaxy and Milky Way will collide.) The vast majority of scientists believed (and stated as proved,) these and many, many, many other various facts. Many people will respond with, “well, they didn’t have all the facts then, we’ve learned more since then, we just didn’t know enough then and have developed new instruments since then that have clarified things, that’s part of the process! Science changes!” To that I would answer : “Changes! Facts don’t change! Theories and stories do! So those "facts" weren’t facts to begin with!” Just because they didn't have all the data needed to present the truth time after time does not make me feel any better that they are changing the "facts".
@@1000DavidK The flaw in your argument is that science does not actually deal in facts. I was talking to a scientist on the way to a conference once and asked her if she believed in Evolution - her answer was: as a scientist we don't deal in absolutes, however I would agree Evolution is currently the theory that best explained the data. Scientists used to be adamant that disease was caused by "bad air" and that fire was caused by phlogiston. This does not negate science, and certainly does not give Religion any more credibility.

17:50 I've always considered the idea that we were meant to expand out to those stars, except that the Fall curbed that.
The BIBLE says the things GOD has prepared for us, we can't even imagine them. It's going to be so great. If I make it that is, if I have properly placed my faith. Praise the LORD!

You are entirely right. Our eternal body is spiritual, without the physical limits of this external, temporary physical body.
Can we detect if it is expanding? If so what exists on the edge of expansion? Is this the intersection of nothing into something?
I'd like to sign up for the club of people who are amazed by space. Whether it's becoming an astronaut or astrophysicist, my dream is to be involved in the space frontier. Maybe we need to be more creative and figure out how to bend the fabric of space, rather than trying to traverse those impossible distances directly.
Maybe God made the universe so huge because he wants us to explore all those wonderful, colorful, spectacular worlds one day. We would never be bored. The entire cosmos would truly be the ultimate gift for God to give his children.

The telescope has better optics or a better sensor.
I wonder if it is so unimaginably humongous because that is how much buffer we need between us and the realm of unapproachable light where HE dwells.

Man has no idea how big the universe is.
I homeschool… one day I taught a lesson to help my children understand the truth about light, time and the age of the earth
I held up a bran new lightbulb that had just been created the year we were actually in, I explained that to my children, then I said “as soon as I screw this in to our lamp (I did) and turn the lamp on (I did) this light will now take 1000 years to travel from earth in space 1000 light years, but this bulb is not 1000 years old, scientists use the length of time light takes to travel to determine the age of a thing they see in space, but just because light takes a certain length of time travel does not mean that thing is that age”
Yes we see the light from these things we love in the night sky, and yes the light from these things takes a certain length of time to travel, but no, this does not mean the things we see are that old…
Thanks for confusing to your kids. The furthest stars in our Galaxy are 100,000 light years away, which means we are seeing what they were like 100, 000 years ago. The nearest galaxy to us is 2.4milllion light years away, so the Universe is at least that old.
@@StudentDad-mc3pu Speaking of galaxies,
by about 1784 scientists recognized the universe as being the Milky Way of 8,000 x 1,500 Light Years (LY).
By the beginning of the 1900s they decided that the Milky Way was actually 23,000 x 6,000 LY. (And they determined that the Andromeda Nebula was at a distance of 19 LY from us in the Milky Way.)
About 90-100 years ago the dimensions of the galaxy were revised by scientists to 55,000 x 11,000 LY. (Now days it is estimated to be about 100,000 x 20,000)
In 1924 it was discovered that the Andromeda Nebula was actually the Andromeda Galaxy!! and was at a distance of 750,000 LY - Obviously NOT in the Milky Way galaxy!
