Thanks for checking out more Dreamcatcher!
We'll need to get y'all on an album reaction at some point so you can see just how divers they are. As someone who loves rock and metal, their title tracks really pulled me in, but their b-sides are what made me fall in love with the group. Their ability to take any genre, even genres that I never cared for, and deliver something that I not only enjoyed but loved as much or even more then their title tracks, sold me on how talented they really are.

Yes, we've heard so much about their diversity and we are totally here for it!! We love their full-on rock vibe, but we'd also love to check out everything they do. We asked this of another viewer, but have you seen the new BABYMONSTER "Sheesh" MV? We felt a strong Dreamcatcher influence in certain parts!

@@hallyureviewsus I've watched it a few times. It definitely feels like they're leaning into the creepy/horror vibes which fits the name. When DC debuted, there weren't really any girl groups doing a dark horror concept, especially with rock as their core sound, but over the years since then there have been several groups come out with that aesthetic. So, it's possible that some of that influence is from DC, even if indirectly.
As for the song, Sheesh, there are parts that I liked, but as a whole I felt like the song was missing something. My favorite song they've done so far is Stuck in the Middle. They've got incredible voices and the melodies in that song are really beautiful. I just hope that YG doesn't just stick them in the same box they had Blackpink, and before them 2NE1, in because I honestly think they've got a lot of talent and potential and deserve to do more than just the same thing the last two groups did. I say this as someone who loves Blackpink, they were the group who got me into K-Pop in 2020.

And we definitely hear what you are saying. You are not the first viewer to express this to us. We love BABYMONSTER and hope that - whatever direction they go - they are able to make music that makes them happy. ❤

    dreamcatcher \:D/
I guess you can interpret in other ways, but in the context of the trilogy it's essentially an anti-war song. they are giving a vision of a destroyed planet if war falls upon us. there's a lot of war imagery and even a giant neon peace sign ;). you did catch the peace hand gesture at the end. so environmental damage and war could bring about an 'apocalypse', name of the trilogy ;)

Oh, very interesting! Yes, we felt it was a call to action, but definitely a peaceful one.🕊

    Yay! More Dreamcatcher!
The girl in the blue is Yoo-hyeon, aka big dog (she has dog-like behaviour and when her hair was silver-grey, she looked like an afghan hound 😅), aka tree (she's the tallest), aka Tom (she and SuA are like Tom and Jerry).
Next reaction should indeed be the 3rd and last of the Apocalypse trilogy: Bon Voyage.

@hallyureviewsus I did. And I think I know what scenes you're talking about. Tbf dark(er) concept(s) have been around long before Dreamcatcher. But it's also true that Dreamcatcher has been doing it very consistently for many years now. So it's definitely possible they got inspired by them. There have been quite a few girlgroups with darker concepts the last years (Purple Kiss, Pixy, Craxy, PinkFantasy, etc), but it's always hard to tell where someone actually got their inspiration from.

@@crispychicken9298 - "[I]t's always hard to tell where someone actually got their inspiration from" - very true! And we love how much the world of entertainment is always in flux, where trends ebb and flow, and influence (like hallyu) can go both ways - mentees can influence mentors as much as they are influenced by them.
Thanks for letting us know about Purple Kiss, Pixy, Craxy, and PinkFantasy. We haven't heard of any of those and we'd love to check them out!

"Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things).
It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way.
So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace.
By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well.
Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release!

We LOVE your take on this video - and the Apocalypse Trilogy - and how you tied in current events in Ukraine. Not that it wasn't already, but that makes Dreamcatcher's message SO relevant.
And yes, we LOVE the duality of Dreamcatcher, captured in "Vision" perfectly. As you said, aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. Up next is "Bon Voyage!"
