You may have noticed that the song ends rather abruptly. It's on purpose. The lyrics up to that point are "Turn into the stone", while the last line is "I think I turn into the...". (It ends abruptly because they've turned into stone).
We did notice that. So cool!
Shatter had to grow on me originally, but it's become one of my favorite b-sides from them. The choreography really elevates the song IMO. Thanks for checking out more of their work!
The choreography really does elevate the song! And we have not seen any other performances - is there an MV? - but this dance video is really well done. The lighting, the location, the styling - it's all spot on ⭐
@@hallyureviewsus there's a live showcase that they did on the day the album dropped which is when the choreo was first shown. The dance video dropped a few days later. There are also some concert fancams and a partial performance at AAA where they did the first part of shatter and OOTD
@@majinzane - Thank you for sharing that information with us! Maybe we can track down the live showcase and have a look!
dreamcatcher \:D/
you got the lore how medusa was once so beautiful even gods lusted for her, then cursed for the same reason. in a sense, men who look at medusa and turned into stone are also betrayed by her beauty. the theme of the album appears to be that beauty is dangerous, which is an actual line in another song on the same album. this time around, it appears they are making a social commentary about society, perhaps even more specifically korean society and how there is an over-emphasis on beauty. the choreo is actually pretty interesting. the starting scene you see hands waving behind jiu's head, mimicking 🐍lol.
Wow - we love this breakdown, thank you! Dreamcatcher songs and MVs are always so meaningful, and "Shatter" is clearly no exception!
We missed the waving hands behind Jiu's head, so now we are going to go back and watch closer!!
Notice that there is only one member (Siyeon) with a cross on her outfit and green eye make up. It kinda indicates she herself is the medusa. Due to her looks and ability to turn people into stone, medusa is often considered a demon to the public...so putting a cross on her is sort of a way to restrain her power. The rest of the members were simultaneously turned into stones at the end of the choreo while Siyeon was still moving and doing a gesture instructing the audience to look her in the eyes
Oh, so cool! Thank you for sharing that with us. We have to go back and look for those details 🤗
Chasing the crown of celebrity will cause you to lose everything that is genuine and true about you, as you step on anyone who gets in your way. You will turn to stone and become a beautiful statue to suit whatever the Kpop industry and the internet decides is the flavor of the day (the OOTD). The jacket shoot video reveals a lot about the concept and as expected, Sua understands the concept best. th-cam.com/video/73-o3bXjCHk/w-d-xo.html A few months before the comeback Sua was asked what kind of concept she wanted for the next release. She replied she was thinking about '30 Sexy' since both her and Jiu would be turning 30 in 2024. The company was obviously listening.
That's awesome, thanks for sharing!
