Yeah I had used one decades back but didn't dig too much into the synth bit. I downloaded the software editor last night, can adjust lots of things not on the front panel with it, 2 osc FM synth.
Imagine having mates that all had Yamaha PSS's & DD-5 drum machines and asking for one for your birthday and receiving a sodding Casio MT-70 with barcode reader pen instead. I can still remember swiping the barcodes to input the theme tune of the Godfather part 1 and having to make do with Bossonova or Waltz beats whilst me mates were bangin' out all sorts of 80's shizzle.
Great sounds and great reveal! PSS-680 FTW. I had one of these bad boys back in the day. Great to see you back and looking forward to more in this series!
@@RaveyStabs we had a Casio mt240 in the early 90s, was me older brothers. I'd have it again just for the dogshit nightbirds demo. Kiss the day goodbye.... Night birds
Yes, the bedroom kid with an Amiga, home keyboard, and zero budget, could coax a lot out, that was me! Gaining knowledge through experimentation with the minimal set up you had went a long way in those days and is something I want to try and capture in this series!
I'm getting an image of Mann Paris Talkin utter shit over the DJ at work. Can't beat the hardcore sound and for what it's worth can't beat a bit o Mann Paris haha, marmite for some people. How u doing anyway chief? Quality vid
Oh God, my mate who was pure into his grunge etc eventually gave hardcore a proper chance and ended up loving it but before that happened, with no other MCs to compare really, he could tell that Man Paris was *bad*. Genuinely can't tell if he's taking the piss sometimes or just really that rubbish haha
Love the rave stab, but LOVE the drums! So trancey and housey!!!
yep the drums are surprising good, especially distorted!
We had those Yamaha's at school, no one realised at the time how you could adjust all the parameters. Definitely an underrated synth! 👍😎

It's a cruel world! How many of them are still making music now though?

Thanks. I borrowed one in primary school from a friend but had a Casio, which I'm also going to use in the series!

Whooooooaaaa thats the one I started on!! Never would have guessed or remembered many of the patches except maybe the oboe haha
I like a good oboe, ultrasonic obsession has one!
Kays catalogue 🤣🤣
You always got some hotties in the swimwear section. I’ve said too much! 😂
@@RaveyStabs 🤣🤣🤣
I heard that the PSS-780 was the source of a famous jungle bass sound. The VSS-200 with its sample editing functions is no slouch either.
Interesting! It can do some common 2 op sounds like the metalic stab and donk bass from th-cam.com/video/aPrPemRAehY/w-d-xo.html
😢No more ravey stabs...
Wow amazing how many sounds you can coax from the less obvious sources hey ? ❤👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

I must listen! Not bad AB, just fighting life as usual!
