To this day I giggle every time a member of Sorted says "But first..." Picturing Ben and Jamie entering the restaurant hopping backwards. Father time can make me grow older, but he can't make me grow up.
As a wayward Scot living in Texas, I LOVED this series. So much good food to be had here, and even better people to meet. Kicking myself that I didn't get to run into you lads when you were in DFW!
Fairs and festivals are such a phenomenal way to experience American culture. They're truly one of our most wonderful traditions imo. Their only purpose is just to exist to the community can come and enjoy being together and I think that's wonderful

I love how the crew got to be part of the end. I hope they got to experience the good food and wine too. I've never been to Texas and I love seeing it through your experiences. Thank you and I look forward to next year's destination

I'll 2nd that. I love bay, though you have to be careful not to use too many as it can overpower a dish. Also call me old fashioned but "Old Bay Rum" is still my favourite aftershave, it has a brilliant smell.
@@Getpojke There's a traditional Icelandic recipe for halibut soup, where the main flavors come from soured whey, prunes and a ton of bay leaves. It's very delicious and refreshing.

I grew up in Round Rock and I knew y’all were going to get that donut! Also, for all of you that don’t know, the rock that they showed in the intro to the RR section is THE round rock that the city is named after.
This summer was particularly hot, hottest ever in Austin. Since they went to the Watermelon Festival, that's early July so it was probably 100+ every day.

Texas is one of the places outside of central-Europe where German is natively spoken. Texas German is spoken by descendants of immigrants who settled there in the mid-19th century. Sounds really interesting, as newer words (like computer or television) did not exist back then and they introduced them differently than all other German language dialects.
I was just in visiting Austin from the east coast this past weekend and Loro is so good and relatively affordable for the quality of food, I'll have to hit some of these other spots the next time I'm there!
