Perhaps it's Ai these new channels using it are just awful. Also whoever wrote it is funny as can be saying while Henry was married to Queen Catherine he only had a handful of mistresses and then goes on to blame his "prudish" behavior on his upbringing in the church! If that's prudish then WTH🤣🤣🤪🤪
Most didn't have 6 wives in their lifetime or execute any of them along with former friends. He treated all his kids like crap except for his son. He only was nice to Mary when she was young and he had hope of a son with Catherine. He made the entire country break from The Pope just so he could grant himself a divorce and rule an over 20 year marriage as invalid.
Unfortunately it's all the time the same clips from other documentaries or tv series.I know that nowdays it is really hard to come up with anythig new about Henry VIII but there is a lot more interesting historical characters from that period to be explored.
Instead of the title "The Ghost of Henry VIII", they should have called it "The History of Henry VIII". This was not what I was expecting by the title.
I personally think henry the 8th is the most fascinating king that we ever had im sorry it won't wash well with everyone but i think he was brilliant 😊
I suppose you must first acknowledge his time, but after that, I completely disagree. (1) He spent the fortune left to him by his father, AND the one stolen for him by the dissolution of the monasteries (many of which provided essential social services to his populace) in a foolheardy & irresponsible manner. (TAX THEM, rather than dissolve them; they were freakin' cash cows!!) (2) Not educated to be King (an idiotic custom of the British royal family's persued through at least Elizabeth II's reign), he was certainly young enough to PURSUE/DEMAND additional education in order to fulfill the RESPONSIBILITIES of his position. He did not; he hired others to do for him, & was therefore vulnerable to both paranoia & being manipulated. (3) He indulged in dangerous sport (not all sport was dangerous) DESPITE the fact that he had no legitimate male heir & couldn't/or wouldn't think to, use his considerable charm to influence the acceptance of his existing female heirs. (4) Selfish, entitled, & disloyal himself, he expected the opposite from others, but naturally easily became suspicious of other's motives. He took ridiculously drastic actions when lesser punishments would have been better for his realm/nation. I could go on, but I won't. Bad partner, disastrous king, though admittedly colorful, at a safe distance of 500 years. Saying Henry VIII was brilliant is like saying DJT was a great President.
I get it…. His insanity was rooted in desperation to continue his father’s line because he knew they weren’t really of royal birth!!! That jousting accident probably also cause some damage to the frontal lobe!! Even still, he was a horrible person to how he treated his wives and even though I despise Anne bolyen, because she was a home wrecker, she didn’t deserve the death she endured
Hmm, are you aware that Anne was forced by Thomas Wolsey under the kings orders to stop seeing the man she was in love with, planning to marry, Henry Percy, who was also forbidden to ever see Anne Boleyn, also threatened. Why? Because fat ba***rd wanted her for himself. Anne was livid, and heartbroken. She spent the next 7 years or so trying to avoid him before giving in. Know your history, go look it up.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, the actor voicing King Henry was a good touch, just how I would imagine King Henry to sound. King Henry 7th was the winter King and his claim to the thrown was not a strong one, father and son would have understood that, it was essential for Henry 8th to secure the dynasty. Henry 8th was a true renaissance King, admired in every respect so it was unfortunate, through no fault of her own, that his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, did not bring forth a son that would go on to become the next tudor King. Queen Cathetine would have been safe in her position, being the mother of the future king. Henry would have had mistresses, it was expected that Kings did but it is unlikely that divorce or beheading would have ever occurred in the way they did, Henry would have remained married to Cathetine. Not making excuses to the barbaric deaths ordered by Henry but the constant pain and lack of quality in the Kings life probably paid a hugh part in the 'monster' he became. It would be interesting to see how our history played out if Catherine and Henry's son had became a monarch. Our history would be very different indeed.....
*Actual ghost was at the end around **38:00** and lasts only a few minutes.* Scenes repeated numerous times, female speaking with a ghostly sound was irritating, and repeats from other documentaries. Overall a 1/10. 😣
With Henry dying without sincere guilt over the horrible thing's he did in life, it is just for him to face eternity stuck in a place where so much of his evil took place. It's interesting Henry's seen/felt alone when a few of his wives are famous hauntings, which say a lot. Killing makes a murderer, any praise (present/past) takes away from those who faced their horrible painful death. But like so many horrible crimes today, the horror the victim's faced get lost.
That virtual voice was really annoying. I couldn’t wait until the historians started to talk because they were natural rather than the AI robotic voice.
It seems it was narrated by a woman called Vivienne Pettitt, not AI. I wonder if it was given that echo as it was supposed to be about Henry as a ghost? Definitely annoying

It would be nice if they actually showed some of these ghostly experiences they are talking about. 👻

Why is the narrator speaking with an echo? It's very distracting.
Perhaps to give it a "ghostly" vibe?

horrible person just the same...
He is no more cruel, vicious or selfish than any any other king of the time
Was he fatter than the other kings of the time ?

Catherine Howard is the Queen who runs through the corridors of Hampton court, not Anne. Anne was kept in the Queens House at the tower
