    Katherine of Aragon was named after her great-grandmother, Katherine of Lancaster - daughter of John of Gaunt and his second wife, Infanta Constance of Castile.
    Henry VII also descended from John of Gaunt by his third wife, Katherine Swynford. John of Gaunt was son of King Edward III. Technically speaking, Katherine of Aragon had a stronger claim to the throne of England than her father in law, Henry VII

      This is not true. Henry took Richard's crown by killing him. No Plantagenet had a claim to a Tudor crown except by conquest. Especially no Plantagenet woman, ever, as they couldn't reign only bequeath their father's claim to their sons.

    It is *absolutely INACCURATE* to say that “a liaison with the King could compromise Anne Boleyn’s future marriage prospects.” Both Bessie Blount *and* Anne’s own sister, Mary, had been royal mistresses, and were well-wed afterward at the King’s “encouragement.” Both seem to have lived wealthy, comfortable lives.

      Henry had one child with Lady Blount and she was highly regarded for that, because it proved Henry was capable of fathering male children. Henry Fitzroy was acknowledged by Henry, exhibited at least once at court and eventually made a Duke.

    • @babalonbarbie7352
      @babalonbarbie7352 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No. Mary was not well wed after Henry. She was married when he met her. Her husband died not long after her time with Henry ended. She later eloped for her second marriage, for which Anne banned her from Court for a time. She got very lucky to have ended up with the obscure country life. And Bessie died in her 30s of the same consumption that took Henry Fitzroy.

    Wolseley was too good at his job and became an object of great jealousy to other nobles. It was up to Henry V111 to curtail any actions which Cromwell was pushing too fast.
    When Cromwell began to realise he had many enemies, he also found that he had no protector, which should have been the king.
    Cromwell’s actions and plans for Anne Boleyn’s and her family’s downfall showed the true desperation of how unsafe he was feeling.
    In this entire sad and tragic saga was Henry who had an agenda of his own and Cromwell who was desperate to regain a grasp on his life and kings favour… thus resorted to drastic measures to please his mercurial ways.
    Cromwell was brilliant and would have been wise to keep more of a low down on his ambitions.
    I don’t condone some of his actions, however as a puppet of his unhinged king… he did what he did to survive, remembering Wolseley’ swift fall from grace.

    It seems very likely that Henry VIII had McLeod syndrome, being Kell antigen positive, a rare genetic disease. This meant his wives were essentially 'allergic' to him (his sperm and fluids) resulting in deformities, miscarriages,, stillbirth or very small sickly children, unlikely to live beyond a few weeks or months. That he had any children at all that survived is probably close to miraculous. Mary was notoriously frail and sickly all her life and also infertile.

I suspect history would have been very different had Arthur not died, or better yet, had Henry Tudor not triumphed at Bosworth field!

    Considering Henry had so many wives. I would say Henry had some sort of sexually transmitted disease. At first you can say it’s Catherine then it’s Anne. But it’s a stretch to say all 6 was the women. Remember Edward was a very sick child and his first boy out of marriage died of sickness too. His seed was diseased in some way. Syphilis is often theorised

      There is also a theory that his blood type was one of those tricky ones which, if it meets a group antagonistic to it, creates either very weak offspring, or

    • @stephaniechristensen6018
      @stephaniechristensen6018 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      There were probably at least two major things at play and one more minor. First, I believe the theory is that Henry was Kell positive in terms of his blood group, which is rare and can cause an antagonistic immune response in women and fetuses that are Kell negative. (Take that all those idiots who blamed these issues on the ladies.) A first pregnancy can go largely without trouble, but subsequent pregnancies tend to be plagued with issues unless the fetus miraculously inherits the recessive Kell positivity. This seems to fit the pattern that played out. Second, Tudor England was horrible in terms of its understanding of pregnancy and what pregnant women and children in utero need. Very little in the way of rest and recuperation between pregnancies and a bad understanding of nutrition...especially the value of fruits and vegetables in the diet. Finally, there was the issue of mental health. These poor women were under incredible pressure in terms of their lifestyle, constant public scrutiny, pressure to provide an heir, and private emotional turmoil dealing with Henry and all kinds of other things. At the time, any issue with a pregnancy was blamed on the woman. That kind of stress and pressure is not kind on mothers or developing children. And fatally, in the case of Anne Boleyn, there was the shock of Henry's jousting accident, which probably caused her to miscarry a fetus that was, reportedly, a boy.

    A massive whitewash of Cromwell's vicious crimes. He destroyed England's archetectural heritage by physically destroying hundreds of beautiful monastic buildings, looting the thousands of priceless works of art within them, and destroying the even more priceless written records contained in them, which dated back all the way to the Anglo-Saxon period. Everything from wills, contracts, land grants and literary masterpieces lost forever. Tens of thousands of monks and tens of thousands of the invalids and chronically ill that the monks had cared for in the monasteries were dumped onto the roads with no employment or means of support and the sick left to die without anyone to care for them. This was Cromwell's "humane" care for the poor. His strengthening of British rule in Ireland led to 500 years of Anglo-Irish conflict which is still ongoing today. When Henry had no more need for Cromwell's services he had him executed. That is what tyrants always do with their secret poplice chiefs when their services are no longer required. It is always dangerous for a tyrant to let their hatchet men live once their work is complete, since they may then conspire with the tyrant's surviving enemies.

    Why do you call Richard III a usurper when he was asked by parlement to be king. And why keep saying that he killed the two princess when there is no evidence of their death.

    • @monicalynn7187
      @monicalynn7187 หลายเดือนก่อน +66

      Well, you don't need a body or direct witnesses to prove that a crime was committed. Circumstantial evidence that they "disappeared" during his watch, and there weren't any sightings of them by any credible human. Add in the fact that the motive is clearly beyond a reasonable doubt with logical deductive reasoning skills.

    • @hannytierlierblaauw192
      @hannytierlierblaauw192 หลายเดือนก่อน +19

      @ But you do need proof and there is no proof at all. Not of a murder nor who would be a murderer.The only thing we know is that nobody saw them anymore. This means you can’t accuse somebody until proven. And why would he kill the princess but not the son of his brother Clarence.Sorry but your answer doesn’t convince me at all.They could have vanished for a good reason.

    • @PeopleProfilesExtra
      @PeopleProfilesExtra  หลายเดือนก่อน +94

      Richard III was tasked with the Prince's protection by his brother Edward IV. Given that fact he is responsible for their deaths, directly or indirectly. Also given he was their "protector" only he could have ordered their deaths. He's 100 per cent guilty.

    • @hannytierlierblaauw192
      @hannytierlierblaauw192 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      @ yes he was the protector but that does not proof that the two princess died. He was responsible for them but also doesn’t proof that he killed them. We have absolutely not a single piece of evidence of murder. If we would do this nowadays we could be going to court for slender. We don’t know what happened to them and that is final. You can’t call someone a murderer without proof. That is the problem with most historians there like parrots if one is saying it they all do. A protector was the protector of the country not the king. It was his job to fight for the country instead of the king because he was to young. It has nothing to do with a personal bodyguard of the king.
