A big problem we have now Rypie is the Chronic Abuse Of The Amber Beacon/Strobe lamp . The Amber lamp is given to public service for one reason . Amber put out the Brightest light of the 4 colours used until Recent times when the LED hit the scene . Issue is No one Slows down any more for the Amber warning systems we use . i feel that Pro Rescue Recovery Should be Full Red But that Creates a problem in many states in the US .. England Red is only used by Ambulance and police .Some Heavy Rescue mechanics whom deal with the truck breakdowns have them too but that is it .

I'm sure it's normal for you, but it was nice to see you wearing gloves while emptying the air tank. I have a buddy who's hand is full of shrapnel from draining an air tank without gloves, and the accident happened over 2 years ago when he was 18.

I'm not a trucker. I've never driven a big truck. I'll probably never drive a big truck, much less tow one. But I watched it from beginning to end. Few things are more enjoyable than watching a professional do their job. This video is not just a good overview into the trucking and towing world. It's also a great video on how to interact with people and how to conduct yourself with patience, good humour, and professionalism while under pressure.

Sure brings back memories, must have put 500,000 miles on the road though the years. Starting driving big rigs in 1971, used to be very little traffic back then. Over 2 millions miles later, now I tow a 32 foot RV! Nice vid.

  • @JREwing78

Crazy that this stretch of road doesn't have a climbing lane for slower traffic. It's certainly heavy enough traffic to warrant one.

I doubt it will happen anytime soon. Riverside county is pretty slow when it comes to roadway upgrades. I-40, to the north in San Bernardino county, has truck lanes despite having far less traffic.

Surprised by the great respectful trainer! Normally they be screaming at the poor new guy for any little thing, or they be all pist off at life and they take it out on the new guy......but this trainer here was a breath of fresh air, the new guy also seemed very knowledgeable and looks like he will be a great worker, that can one day (with the proper grooming and training) become an important asset.

  • @ronsmith6662

That is one long ass hill to climb! The drivers don't move over to give you a safe space to work. In Ontario Canada there is a law that when you see ANY emergency vehicle, you must move over if possible or slow down as you pass. The fines are pretty stiff for not doing it. Too many emergency people were getting killed or injured especially at night. Great video and Alex is lucky to have such a patient teacher. That would be a tough job in winter when it's -20F and the wind and snow are whipping around you.
