    Thanks so much. I searched and watched over 20 videos on how to register in the state of Texas but your video was the only video that made any sense.

      it's on your business docs. Search your business on the SIS website and view or download your business docs. Also check your email when you first set up the bui
      business. It will have your business details

    i have been looking and looking on this SOSDirect site and i dont see anywhere the 503 form to submit online

    • @John-by2vv
      @John-by2vv 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      SOSDirect site doesn't make this easy to find. I finally found it by going to Business Organizations. Under "Change Documents", you have to enter your "File Number" for your entity and click the "File Document" button. From there, you can select "Certificate of Assumed Business Name" and the continue button to file the 503 form. Hope that helps!

    if I file sole p, what do I put for entity? I don't have any of the ones listed. Do I just put other and type my name?

      That is a good question. Unfortunately, we cannot give legal advice over TH-cam or social media, however, we can direct you to the Texas Secretary of State's helpline which should be able to assist you with that question: 512-463-5555.
      Also, we would highly recommend that you consult with a business lawyer in your area. While a sole proprietorship is an option, it may not limit your personal liability. We hope this helps and best of luck with your business.

      That's done through the county clerk. Here is the info for Harris county Texas. www.cclerk.hctx.net/PersonalRecords.aspx#ANInfo

    Do we need to mail a copy of our identification with the application? Does this need to be notarized? If not, it seems like anyone can submit a dba under anyone's name without verification. Can you please confirm? I'm trying to fill mine out as we speak.

    So a DBA becomes an LLC when registered or is it just a now registered DBA?

  • @E_Dubb75

    My business entity is incorporated. If I file for an assumed business name under my incorporated business entity, am I permitted to use "Inc." at the end of my assumed business name? I'm in Texas.

    Once the assumed name is on file, does this mean the dba is actually registered with the state, or is that a separate step?? Thanks

    • @mastellerlaw
      @mastellerlaw  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Correct. Once you file your assumed name with the Texas Secretary of State, it is registered with the state for purposes of doing business under that name. Best of luck with your business.
