One of my favorite mindfulness activities is to take 10 mindful breaths when I get into bed each night and take 10 mindful breaths before I get out of bed each days. It is a great way to bookend each day.

My mindfulness is laying on the couch, in a quiet, dim lite room, (with a beer) watching various art paintings scroll across the smart TV, at the end of the day. ~ We are all different.

For mindfulness 🧘🏼‍♀️ I take my dog to the park. It’s got a 2.5km path one way so 5km in the end. He’s 15 so we go at a leisurely pace. Plus, you gross paths with some adorable floofs who love scritches! 🐾 Always the highlight of my day!

    Dr Boster,
Your 5 for 5 couldn’t have come along at a better time for me.
The New Year 🎉 is exactly when I was going to get my MS under control, or take more positive self advocacy steps forward.
I spent the first 2 years of Covid feeling sorry for myself like I was at everyone’s mercy, but I am looking forward to feeling more in control in 2023 while using your 5 for 5 ……
Merry Christmas to you and yours Dr. B🎄🎅🏼☃️🇨🇦
I thank you so much Dr. Boster 🙏❣️👍🏼🇨🇦😉

My favorite ways to practice mindfulness are gardening or sitting in the garden with a cup of tea. Walking on the beach is my favorite form of therapy. Riding my bicycle is my favorite exercise. I ride in BikeMS and will until I can't. Thank you for all of your videos. I've embraced making the most of my life despite my MS. I'm working on sharing my own journey more as an inspiration to others. Do you have a community of followers?

Thank you, Dr. Boster! As I strive towards being 5 for 5, one way that I practice mindfulness is a tip from you- I use a shower chair, so in the shower I clear my head and refocus while sitting and just listen and breathe.

Not sure if this fits your definition of mindfulness but every morning I do three sets of Wim Hof breathing. Each set consists of 30 deep breaths. Sometimes I get so lost in the moment that I lose count of my breaths. With each set, I live in the moment visualizing different things. Set 1 is my mind-muscle connection, set 2 I focus on white light healing my brain end body (true or not I believe I have no lesions) set 3 I focus on balance and energy. I actually visualize my entire balance routine. Studies show that visualizing works and my balance, while not 100% yet, has absolutely improved. thank you for the time and effort you put into your videos

My mindfulness is cold water swimming in either the pool or beach. Everyday, rain
hail or shine l take the plunge. It’s the thrill of the chill as the cold brings me into the present moment.

My old teacher Indra Devi Pandit, told me she felt hanging clothes on the line was a form of rajah yoga. Awareness in the moment and being of service to your family. I should add, cleaning stalls in the horse barn, is another.

Hello Dr. Boster; thanks for another awesome video. I have questions. What do you think about people with MS drinking beverages with caffeine? I understand that sodas and energy drinks are not good, but is drinking with natural caffeine, like tea and coffee, better?

First, Dr. Boster, thanks for all you do for so many. You are a phenomenal person! As of 12/3/22 I have been DX’d with RMS due to MRI brain lesions, spinal tap (7 bands) results and 14 years of “Fibromyalgia” symptoms. The MS Dr. stated all the on/off flares and symptoms I experience from my neck down (parathesia, muscle cramps, stiffness, spasm, fatigue, legs giving way, heavy leg/foot to name a few) in no way are related to MS because I have no spinal lesions (one thoracic spot was dismissed). My cognitive issues were even dismissed as MS. The statements perplex me due to all I’ve researched and all conditions, currently and previously, ruled out. Could you please shed light on the doctor’s statements? Your response is beyond appreciated. Thank you, Dr. Boster! 38/F/SC

Water water water... As a diabetic with insatiable thirst, i learned, once you flush your electrolytes, you CANNOT hydrate. Water is only the water part. Vitamin D flushes too. I pray you examine all the electrolytes < Potassium, magnesium, sodium, chloride, and soluble vitamins, D, B and C of your patients who can't hydrate.

You are gonna think I'm nuts, but my mindfulness is sitting in the living room with my rats in a cuddle around my neck. Feeling them running around and sticking their noses out for a kiss. Keeps me in the now, I think of nothing else but breathing.

Hi what’s a simple versus complex carb? Are u saying eat broccoli last?

    • @TXDHC
      @TXDHC ปีที่แล้ว

Simple would be a slice of Wonder Bread, complex would be a sweet potato. Not only is a sweet potato complex but it's also an insoluble fiber...it doesn't feed the body, it feeds the colon...goes through simply to nourish. That's just a simplistic explanation. Insoluble fibers tend to get thick and sticky when cold. Broccoli would be soluble fiber.

Increase water intake isn't easy because as soon as you drink it the urine pours out and it continues to pour. When you take the pills to control the bladder it swells the feet and block the bowels
