  • These are the best outdoor LED flood lights, they brighten up the entire backyard! Here's an unboxing, installing (in place of normal flood light fixture) them on the soffit, and comparison/review of them. I am very impressed with the light output of these Olafus lights! And they make even brighter ones (and also less bright/lower wattage). One 100W incandescent bulb puts out about 1100 lumens, so these 100W LED's are 10x brighter! Olafus sent me the lights for free in exchange for a review (but this is my honest opinion!).

    Nate, great video I've been looking at upgrading my exterior lights from the old yellowish dim lights to led , I just couldn't find some bright ones to replace my old ones with. I went to the link you have about the led flood lights, as I was looking at the pictures of the flood lights they seem to come with a 3 prong connector for a outlet, I noticed that the ones you have in your video do not come with the outlet connector but come with wiring (neutral, power, ground) wires.

    personally, I would've used electrical tape to further secure the twist connectors on wiring to prevent any moisture and further securing the connectors in place in case they try to unwind. I'm sure someone else in these comments probably said the same thing but you do you that's just my opinion.

    • @Nibbles53
      @Nibbles53 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Generally, I take my cutting pliers and twist the wires then use the wire nut. He shouldn't have to use electrical tape with it being under the eave as long as it is in a rain proof environment should be good. If he would have made his connections correctly they shouldn't back out. Putting the wires together and just putting on the wire nut isn't good enough in some cases so I agree with you, I was working in an old Warehouse installing new lights and taking down hazardous wiring and you could pull off some of those wire nuts because the wires were not twisted. Too much reliance on the wire nut. Same thing with outsets, never use the stab backs. Atleast this is my experience in the electrician field so far.

      most likely an induced voltage. LED lights need very little power to illuminate so they could be picking up a voltage simply from cabling running close to other live cables. I had some junky chinese ones. 3 are still working good after 3 years. One is toast. I am sick of chinese crap not working. I will switch to these and toss some PIR sensors in the line.

    Homeowners should be able to do their own work. Even electrical work. However Nater Tater you are doing much more than that. You are teaching others to do the same things you are doing. If you are going to teach people at least teach them properly. I am not going to go into detail but you just showed people how to do just about everything wrong. As mentioned no box is huge but so is ladder safety. Why make videos when you clearly have no idea how to do it properly?

    Man you should have a frend help you with your job better safe than sorry. Because now you have to install the receptacle box and taking down that one pice of soffit will be a pain go rent some scaffolding and make it looks like pro's did the JOb and you are safe and the wife might think you have brains

    Horrible video. Should be removed. Please don’t do this. Do not stuff live wires in your attic without a box.

      @chrislumbo6607 his Chris, thanks for watching and the feedback. As mentioned that was a bit of a surprise for me when I swapped out the lights. The builder or perhaps previous owner did that and it had been that way for 30+ years. I continued the video to get the finished lighting and went back to correct the electrical boxes afterwards.
