Spent many hours trying to find something as simple as this!!! lol If you don’t mind I’d like to ask you two questions that would really help, so if your able too thank you! I am going to copy your picture settings and see how that goes, never tried using “low contrast” mode because it would cause the whole screen to become greyish so it was either “High contrast” or OFF, and having it off while in game mode made it the brightness to low, but since you set the contrast to 34 maybe it will work and not give that greyish screen. Now my first question for you, while in game mode with HDR (Xbox series X) my Gamma becomes ST.2084 and I noticed in your video when you showed “TU700 Best color settings” picture the Gamma was BT.1886 instead, were you still in game mode or just showing the best color settings? Just wondering because Samsung chooses ST.2084 for HDR while in game mode lol And last question is, do you have another video like this but for Xbox series X instead of PS5 in this video? you have hdr on and when it's on the gamma defaults to ST.2084, his settings are for sdr. Hdr calibration is a bit more complicated so just reset it to default settings and leave it at that
Yeah, I have the Samsung crystal uhd 8 series, tried your settings, and the color is way to high, and contrast slightly low to me, most the colors, way to non saturated and just hurts to watch, cause it doesn't look right. My settings is natural preset, contrast 45, color 15 to 20, gives same effect as your color setting, but still looks more natural and vivd

How should I calibrate hdr on this tv, should I go one step above barely visible? And at the last calebration screen should I go to the darkest or do the same as the previous screens? Btw: I can't get the symbol to barely visible really so that's why I'm a little concerned!
Steve I have kept all the adjustment and the only thing I have changed is that I have set the brightness to 0 and raised the st.2084 and the shading detail to the above level

Hello tech steve, i have this tv and i have it set up just like your video 👍 I use this tv heavily for gaming only, My son was playing astrobot on the ps5 and I noticed that it started to develop shadowing in the screen is that normal?
It is not all that bad but once i see it i cant un see it now very annoying! Lol, but it’s like a line up of shadow circles across the screen like from near the top, centre, and bottom of the whole screen… like dimmed circles.. haha 😂 very annoying, if you know what this might be i would like an explanation. That's so accurate to how I have my settings already. But one thing that's bothering me is when I disable HDR the colour seems more vibrant? I have the exact settings set for non HDR and HDR and still colours pop more with HDR off. I was wondering if you noticed that and know why? I have tried everything lol maybe am just being way to fussy.
@@Jordan_X91 if you want a more vibrant display set ur color setting to 45 when hdr is on. On the ps5 hdr should always be on so set the color to 45 and it looks alot better also in my opinion contrast enhancer also makes the tv display more vibrant
@@ggs9556 yeah that's true you can do that and it does pop more but I learnt the issue was my TV only had 300 nits so due to that I just have hdr off. Plus keep contact enhancer off and colour at 30 sometimes it looks better higher but it blows the picture out of natural look. Keep settings mostly default and sharpness down low and picture looks so good

I have a few questions: At present, I can't do more than a 43" Screen. 1) I'm looking for a Television that has 4 HDMI inputs (I do have a Rocketfish Switcher, but still prefer 4 HDMI inputs on the Television. 2) Bluetooth, but still having a 3.5mm Headphone input. 3) 1 or 2 USB inputs (and possibly an input for microSD. What's better: Smart TV or Android TV (My phone is Android and my computer is PC). I don't want Insignia. Am I asking for the impossible? Thank You Very Much!!!

It does this auto adjust for dark colors while gaming and it's annoying cause there's no way to turn it off. Gaming mode on the TV is sometimes not the best option for dark lit games cause the brightness jumps a little. 6/10
@@TheEdrec what does it auto adjust? I have a samsung mu 7400 and when i pan the camera the trees and bushes are getting slighly darker. When i stop moving the camera it stops to get darker. This is what you are talking about? ( Sorry for my English it is not my native language)

Whenever I launch a game my gamma changes from ST. 2084 to BT. 1886. This causes the screen to go black for a few seconds when I launch a game. Please tell me a way to fix this

If you buy a Google TV it works via HDMI input, you can turn off the HDR on it so your TV never use hdr, if you use the built in apps you have no choice but to watch HDR because you can’t turn it off in the menu

Hi, Anybody have problem with contrast setting on tu7100(tu7000). Everytime I'm starting the test patern from avs hd 709 with different contrast setting the correct value is different. (I'mean for example when I'm starting with 35 and then runing patern the correct value seems 45 but when I'm starting with 45 after that the test looks different and correct value seems to be 35, when I'm starting with other values the resoults are different). Mine eco settings, dynamic contrast etc are off

My TV is showing some really weird behavior on dark scenes, when a dark cutscene from a videogame starts you can tell the black parts get pixelated/blocky effect I cannot explain it very well. Even when I'm not in a game, for example when I'm in the menu of the PS5 you can see the weird pixelated parts on darker areas. This is really enfuriating because I think the TV has a problem. I have connected my PS5 to my other LG TV (that is brand new) and I cannot see the same, the dark areas look normal. What do you think it can be happening? The thing here is that I want to explain what it is but I don't know how to properly explain.
@@TechSteve sir... Nothing in what I described in my original comment seems to match with your "that's why it looks better" response. Am I not understanding something here? I just noticed now that after turning OFF the HDR on my PS5 the pixelated blacks are much less noticable now... For example yesterday I was playing Need For Speed Heat which is a PS4 game running on PS5. I think the PS5 is forcing HDR into games that don't have HDR and that is ruining my quality on darker scenes.

It’s because HDR is based on a nits system normally 1000, budget TVs has a low nits low as 400

It does this auto adjust for dark colors while gaming and it's annoying cause there's no way to turn it off. Gaming mode on the TV is sometimes not the best option for dark lit games cause the brightness jumps a little. 6/10
@@TheEdrec what does it auto adjust? I have a samsung mu 7400 and when i pan the camera the trees and bushes are getting slighly darker. When i stop moving the camera it stops to get darker. This is what you are talking about? ( Sorry for my English it is not my native language)

I still have the Q60 and I’ll do one on that one, each TV requires it’s own settings. After the video is uploaded you can try on your Q70T but I have 4-6 of these to make so I can bring in more products

It’s automatically done, you can use a google TV and it has a feature to turn off hdr

I want to turn it off because I was watching a Netflix movie earlier that was streamed in 4k hdr and it was way to dark for this TV. Thanks for you time I really appreciate it
If you buy a Google TV it works via HDMI input, you can turn off the HDR on it so your TV never use hdr, if you use the built in apps you have no choice but to watch HDR because you can’t turn it off in the menu

Hi, Anybody have problem with contrast setting on tu7100(tu7000). Everytime I'm starting the test patern from avs hd 709 with different contrast setting the correct value is different. (I'mean for example when I'm starting with 35 and then runing patern the correct value seems 45 but when I'm starting with 45 after that the test looks different and correct value seems to be 35, when I'm starting with other values the resoults are different). Mine eco settings, dynamic contrast etc are off

My TV is showing some really weird behavior on dark scenes, when a dark cutscene from a videogame starts you can tell the black parts get pixelated/blocky effect I cannot explain it very well. Even when I'm not in a game, for example when I'm in the menu of the PS5 you can see the weird pixelated parts on darker areas. This is really enfuriating because I think the TV has a problem. I have connected my PS5 to my other LG TV (that is brand new) and I cannot see the same, the dark areas look normal.
What do you think it can be happening? The thing here is that I want to explain what it is but I don't know how to properly explain.

@@TechSteve sir... Nothing in what I described in my original comment seems to match with your "that's why it looks better" response. Am I not understanding something here? I just noticed now that after turning OFF the HDR on my PS5 the pixelated blacks are much less noticable now... For example yesterday I was playing Need For Speed Heat which is a PS4 game running on PS5. I think the PS5 is forcing HDR into games that don't have HDR and that is ruining my quality on darker scenes.

Out of the 2 the Sony is a higher performing TV. The Q70T would be idea because it supports 120Hz but it’s a lot more money
