I benched on a homemade wood bench for years. Thousands of reps. Its not uncomfortable at all and is actually much better in alot of ways. Similar to wearing hard soles vs squishy to squat in. Not sure why people think its a joke. That bench is beautiful. With that said, its too pricey for me. Plus I can make one just as nice and sturdy for about a third what their charging.

It's narrow as fuck so your lats hang off the side rather than form a solid base, it's slick as hell if you use ANY legdrive you slip right off, it's heavy and awkward to move (particularly in a commercial environment). I'm honestly surprised he didn't loose his job over the acquisition as it now sits in the lobby as a bench to sit on rather than the gym for actual use. It's solid and well made for a sitting bench, but it is an absolute abomination for exercise.

At the time I purchased the material to make the bench, I also purchased material to pad it

All respect sir, but when you say “if you can’t do your 5 reps without a pad, etc” it demonstrates you aren’t listening to your customers. It’s not so much a pad we want, it’s the grip. For $240, customers would expect the product to include the features they want, not be convinced of features they don’t need. I don’t need to be able to put my car on my bench, and I don’t need to spend $240 on a block of wood on some steel tubing.

It’s not even an expensive bench... Maybe it’s 40 more than the entry level bench from Rogue, the dimensions of which are far too wide at 13”. Can you bench at 13”? Probably, but many will find their mobility during the bench is limited to the point where they’re compensating slightly, and may even have such a limited range of motion that they’re effectively doing a floor press from an elevated position and being charged good money for this imposed modification.

He has always been about " narrowcasting" and "getting big and strong " .Now he talks about the "small person" and "yes it slips a little bit but it teaches positioning" lmao get outta here.

reignator No; the logo makes no apparent difference in terms of performance, but it will in terms of profit & advertising. That’s what I meant.

Wait...this is an actual product for sale? It's not a joke? I'd use this to change my shoes at the door and not much else. No, I take that back...I'd chop some veggies on it because, butcher block.
