Thank you Becky. I have attempted Peyote & Brick stitch in the past but been distracted. This time, I think I've got it. I appreciate your teaching style & love to see the variety of shapes all in one video. Kim C.
I'm not a very good seed beader......my jewelry pieces are made using bead wire, leather, and memory wire, etc.. I do love to hoard seed beads (lol)....my intention with my collection of seed beads is to actual make beautiful seed bead jewelry. However, I lose my patience and put what I started away for another day!! But, I never go back to finish what I started. Lol 😋 I want you to know, This video has been the best BEZEL tutorial video I have ever watched!! Thank you for taking the time to show us "newbies" how to properly bezel different types of stones and pendants!! I truly appreciate you making this video!!! Love and Blessings to You and your Family!! ❤📿🐾🐾
I agree ! This is the best bezeling tutorial I have seen. I have a lot of experience with peyote stitch, but I learned volumes from you. Thank you so much for your clarity, your examples and your knowledge!
Hi Natalia. Using smaller beads for the later rows helps to cinch up the bezel around the stone. You could use the same size, but you would want to skip adding every other bead for the row to cinch up.
I'm lost at the 1st point where you are filling in the gaps and then come to the corner beads. Do I put an 11/0 through the 1st corner bead and then add 2 corner beads like I did with the 1st row?
Peyote bezels work better if you want to make a ring or want to add fringe to the bottom of the bezel. Bead embroidery bezels have a backing that might get in the way of those design elements. It can also be a design choice. Hope this helps!
Great question, Becky! Sometimes, you just have to check the fit, but we do provide some starting points in this video. 46 11/0 cylinders is a good amount for an 18mm rivoli. 66 11/0 cylinders fit around the 30x2mm oval stone. 64 11/0 cylinders fit around a 30mm pear-shaped stone. And for a rectangular focal 30x40mm in size, we would recommend 2 corner beads, 21 side beads, 2 corner beads, 29 side beads, 2 corner beads, 21 side beads, 2 corner beads, and 29 side beads. Again, you can adjust these numbers up or down depending on the size of the stone you are working with.
Also, we have a great chart for the amount of beads you'll need for different rivoli sizes here: artbeads.com/content/tutorial-pdfs/abt-20140814-02-open-back-bezel-diagram.pdf
The designers I learned from say "aught", which means the same as zero. Cynthia, one of the designers who taught me, is French, so maybe it's a European thing?
The word aught means zero. The O is also zero. It is how things are sized. Small crochet hooks for crocheting with thread can also be called three Os as beads are called 11 Os.
The best description of bezeling non traditional cabachons!
Thank you!
I like that you have peyote stitch bezel for all shapes in one video.
Your earrings are AMAZING! 😍😍😍
Thank you so much, Darla! The earrings have free instructions, too! Find them here: artbeads.com/design-studio/vipera-seed-bead-fringe-earrings/
@@ArtbeadsVideos ❤️ Thanks!
Thank you for making the peyote stitch look easy to do.
The more you do peyote stitch, the easier it gets!

I've been afraid to do a peyote stitch project but you make it look so easy

Incredible tutorial.thanks a lot.
Thanks for the great video tutorial, It was so easy to follow❣️ I’m in love with the stones as well as the color beads you used.
When doing a bezel around a rectangle, do you need to use tubular or delica beads instead of round seed beads
Very helpful. Also, love your earrings
❤ to follow your rectangle shape for hand painted bead. I have one I want to bezel! 😊

Also how do you determine how many beads you need for the sides and tops of the rectangle… looked like there was a lot of space
Thank you I love it . I am trying 🙏👍👏👏⭐️
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Do the beads have to be 2 different sizes? If I use all same size would there be a problem to fit?
Hi Natalia. Using smaller beads for the later rows helps to cinch up the bezel around the stone. You could use the same size, but you would want to skip adding every other bead for the row to cinch up.
This is awesome!

Hi there! Our text instructions for this type of bezel might help you further: artbeads.com/design-studio/dream-in-green-crystal-peyote-stitch-ring/
Is there a pattern for the earrings you are wearing?
Yes! artbeads.com/design-studio/vipera-seed-bead-fringe-earrings/
Hii why would someone choose peyote vs bead embroidery bezel, are there pros and cons to these techniques ?
Peyote bezels work better if you want to make a ring or want to add fringe to the bottom of the bezel. Bead embroidery bezels have a backing that might get in the way of those design elements. It can also be a design choice. Hope this helps!

Great tutorial but how do you know how many beads go around each stone?

Why are you calling bead sizes that weird thing.. it's called 15/O... just O ,, not that thing you are saying,,
