This is one of the best videos Stephanie has ever done on bezeling Cabs! I've learned more from Stephanie in just a couple of vids than I did from 50 or so beading books.. She's a brilliant teacher! ❤️ 💐

Happy Summer Days Stefi!!! I am thrilled and over the moon that today we get to start this new series!!! I find I watch alot of videos, however, I only actually learn from a couple of artist, you are one of them and I also have a Native American artist I learn from, but for the most part you are the one teaching me how to bead and all that it entails. I am so appreciated by your generosity of sharing your knowledge of this wonderful medium!!! Hugs from Vancouver, Canada xo Lynn :)

I've been beading on and off for 60 years - since I was 8 years old. I learned from a young native/american boy, my age, who had a crush on me & wanted to teach me. I've been wanting to learn this technique for a long time. When I first wanted to use cabs as focal beads, I could find more info using wire than beads so that is when I started using wire. I'm so grateful to see this being taught here - thank you! 😉

Thanks, Stephanie, for guiding us through bezeling a cabachon. I had to laugh, at about 16:30, where you encourage us to "hold it gently" is usually where I have a freakin' death grip on the cab! Thanks for sharing your beading experiences with us.

Before bezelling a Lunasoft cab, be sure to apply a thin layer of resin or clear nail polish to the back. Otherwise, the metallic backing will easily scratch

Recently I bought a book which was recommended to me on bezelling cabochons. What a waste of money! Your video was so much more instructive and so inspirational. Your choice of beads is always so beautiful and inspiring. This book was the complete opposite in choice of beads - delicas didn’t even get a mention - and there was very little there that I found inspiring.

OMGosh! As much as I love your "Mother Earth" pendant and your "Turquoise Love" pendant from 4 years ago, both gemstone cabochons, I really appreciate this tutorial. You've shown me that I'm on the right track with figuring out how to bezel my flat-back stones and crystals. Takes a little trial and error sometimes.
One thing I really like about this design is how you used 2 different colors to create a stripe that goes up the sides of the stone. Then by reversing your 2 colors when you down-size to the 15's, it differentiates the top ring/rim from the side part. So beautiful.
One thing I'd love for you to show us is how you get the scalloped edge on the top. I think I can figure it out, but it's always nice to see how.
Thanks so much for this awesome tutorial! Really appreciate your time and efforts.

Hi there. I just wanted to thank you so much for showing us how to bezel a cabochon. I'm a self taught artist. I do gemstones, crystals, wire wrapping and beadweaving jewelry and special ornaments meant to be displayed. I sell at craft fairs and poshmark. I've been beading for about 4 years but never knew how to bezel a cabochon. I can bezel a round swarovski rivoli. I'm super excited to try this out on 1 of my ten thousand cabs. Lol. I appreciate your taking the time to share this with us. Once again, I can't thank you enough. Sincerely, Melissa Doucette p.s you're a super teacher.

Watched this and THEN bought the cabachons I liked best of Perles.UK. Now have a lovely collection of Gemstone, Lunasoft, Swarovski, Czech Glass Perle Puca cabachons, all waiting to be bezelled! It’s been an exercise in finding Myuki colours to match that correspond to my love of blue, black, green, French Grey (third from the left in the pile) silver and pale gold. Worth it though.

Hi Stephanie! Always love your tutorials but this one I really needed. I tried doing this months ago and my natural stone was thicker. I tried doing the normal bezeling and it pooched in the back so I tried another round of 15s still bad so I did another. Couldn’t get it to look like your beauties. 🥺 I gave up which is not my nature. What could/should I have done to make this work? Maybe this was too thick for bezeling? Thank you for sharing all your talents! I enjoy your tutorials and you were one of my first teachers here several years ago when I started this rewarding journey. 😬😍💐

Hello, I know, I'm not Stephanie, 🙂 but maybe try a different size/type of seed bead? Instead of an 11/0 Delica, maybe an 8/0 or 11/0 round will work?

Thank you so much. Which bezel? The oval Lunasoft one or the round stone as in the necklace?

Stephanie how did you learn to do all of this. It’s taken me over a year to get a bezel half way decent. I will say it again you r my favorite teacher and you r amazing!

Thank you so much Rene 🌻😊🙏 I learned the same way most of us learn beading. Trial and error, ripping out a thousand times, gaining a certain degree of mastery only to start the whole process over with another beading technique 😆😆😆 It took me a few years of bezeling to get it right and I still mess them up 🥰 I just love the process ❤️

These bezel making videos are awesome! I keep watching and re-watching! I tried this technique on my half drilled pearls ( I really don't want to use glue on anything). The pearls are sort of cabochon shape - flat back where the hole is but then they round out. Perhaps the sides are just too round to stay in place, it kept twisting and turning inside the bezel, which was quite tight. Do you have any suggestions or should I just give up hope to be able to bezel half drilled pearls with beads?

Stephanie I love this video. I learned so much. Did you post a video making the larger cabochon with the super duo necklace? I would love to make it and was wondering the size of the Stone beneath the 25 mm. Also did you leave the super duo chain open on one side? I'm looking for the video but I can't find it. If not I'll be waiting patiently. 😊💞

I don’t usually count those little beads 😆 Very few for a 13x18mm Stone. Less than a gram, maybe?
