Not only had the New Pope NOT visited Pius but, it hadn't even occurred to him to do so until Manson pointed it out. Also, very telling that New Pope 's main concern was that Marilyn Manson didn't recognize him. And this was after last week when he mentioned that meeting Marilyn Manson was to be one of the "perks of the Papacy ". He was mortified that Manson didn't recognize him. Great intense and telling scene. Much revealed about Pope JP III in those few seconds. I found it very powerful. Far from boring, for sure. Again, just my opinion of it. My only disappointment was that Manson didn't get a few more scenes.

It isn't so hard to see that underneath the persona is a considerate and well educated individual. I know he’s just acting, but Brian seems like he would be that nice in real life in that exact scenario. He wouldn’t spit in the pope’s face or be rude or give him a bunch of crap. He and the pope might be able to just have a nice civil conversation.
I met Marilyn Manson twice back in 1996. And, yes, he truly is nice in real life. A kind, thoughtful, and courteous gentleman, actually.
I have to assume he’s like every other human being with a lot of disposable income; willfully ignorant to things like the price of gas but capable of civil conversation with those that can further his lifestyle. Not taking anything away from the intelligence and wit he has shown in and to the media but that in itself is a point of interest given Manson’s self-admitted extreme dislike to the media cycle.
A friend of mine met him and said he talked to Brian for a long time and he said that Brian said he's only that extreme on stage because of his image that he loves conversation with anyone as long as they aren't disrespect to him and his beliefs and feelings and that he gives what he gets

Marilyn Manson is a fascinating and inspiring character. I think that most people have no idea how intelligent and friendly he is. Watch a few interviews. It isn't so hard to see that underneath the persona is a considerate and well educated individual. It is ironic, but given the chance to speak with the Pope (any Pope really) or Marilyn Manson, Jesus Christ would likely choose the latter rather than the former.
