Cate Blanchett's noisy build in Mawgan Porth 'destroyed holidays and cost neighbour £60K'

A holiday let owner has accused Hollywood actor Cate Blanchett and husband Andrew Upton of having a "total disregard" for their neighours in Mawgan Porth, near Newquay, as they build their eco-home in the picturesque resort.
Karen Burgess, who owns a neighbouring holiday let, says the noise from construction last year had all but "destroyed" the holidays of her guests. But the architect for the property claims it's a case of mistaken identity - and the noise is not coming from the property she thinks it is.
Ms Burgess claims to have lost £60,000 in rental revenue to noisy works in the area and says to this day she is having to advertise her own bolthole, just steps from the construction site, as being impacted by building noise. It comes as the celebrity couple have been working on their four-bedroom, modern home since purchasing an old cottage in 2020 and demolishing it.

I lived next door to Jason Strathams and my mate lived next door to Cate Blanchets. To be fair it was 50 years before they lived there 🤣 I think it was a better place then.

Construction noise is annoying but did their homes get built overnight by quiet little pixies?

And i'm sure these holiday let owners had no regard for their neighbours when they built/improved their property. No sympathy from me.
