I wonder how much of her perceived beauty came from her ability to write poetry? I have only read some of her works but she does talk about love often, which spurs the imagination. And to receive so many letters! Incredible.
Both the temple and the plums were amazingly beautiful! I only wish we had a realistic portait of Onono Komachi so we could see how she looked! Thank you for this video Samurai!!

Her ability to write poem must have been important factor of her beauty, I guess. In those days it was difficult to see women’s face directly.
