I really like the 5 Series and especially the fact that the navigation screen is still integrated into the the dash instead of sitting on top like a misplaced tablet in their other models.
Great review. My parents own the Xdrive model with the cold weather and luxury packages. They have owned several high end cars and they swear nothing comes close to this car. They are now BMW enthusiasts haha. You really have to drive one to believe the hype.
I absolutely love my bmw 5 series. The amount of power the engine has is outstanding. It roars on the highway. Very classy car, definitely worth every penny.
Joshua Thomas It’s expensive because of the parts and maintenance. For the most part they are pretty reliable but just know that when something does go wrong, it will cost a pretty penny.
Ali khan it's been 4 years now since you posted this. I wanted to ask you how is the car performing so far I REALLY like this car but at the same time scare of the reliability and maintenance costs.
I just brought home my 2nd 535i X-Drive. First was a 2012. What I love about this car, at least for me, it's the perfect balance between luxury and performance. The '15 seems to lean a little more toward a luxury ride than the '12. But I absolutely love this car. The interior feels like a sports car, the exterior looks like a luxury car. I can't imagine needing any more horsepower (and still retain a drivers license) than what this thing delivers. Next one (I hope) will be the M-Sport version. Nice review too, BTW.
The previous BMW 5-series that this generation BMW 5-series has replaced was actually nice and aged quite well. I have seen several 2008-2010 that turned my head because they are really nice and the performance even with the inline-six cylinder is actually fast with 240 horsepower. Very nifty cars.
One thing I have heard regarding the 5 series is that the 528 feels better balanced than the other models because it's uses the lighter 4 cylinder. What do you think Soyfan?
German cars are the best for performance and comfort but their reliability...I'd go for Japanese just for reliability but to me NOTHING beats German performance & comfort
A Japanese car is what I'd have for my commuter car because they're the most reliable. A German car (or any European car) would be my fun/luxury car because they're the most enjoyable to drive.
Get the 535i M-Sport it's a must, whole different manly kick ass look especially in rare Carbon Black Metallic which looks black when the sun hits it but looks Mid-Night blue in the shade! Slap some black 20" Niche wheels on it and you will never look back... Totally a dream car! Also they are easy to fix yourself when you need too but these 5 series are very reliable of all BMW models..... With the black interiors also just makes the M-Sport model very slick and manly looking! It always turns heads and vehicles behind you always keep their distance! Make sure you get it with the Premium Hi-Fi sound system if you can it's worth it! Mine is a 2012 M-Sport and paid 10K cash only and it freakin' rocks!
Yes, I know I'm an old So and So. I used to take my car to this place for a GREAT car wash at a super price. I used to go more than once a week sometimes. Then they got this young fellow that would drive the vehicles from station to station. (washing, drying, interior and polish) He would crank up the stereos and rev-up the engines. He would also re-adjust the seat, the mirrors and change your radio stations. ALL to move the car 15 feet. Of course he could not hear your protest because of the LOUD music coming from inside the car. I complained to management ONCE and he kept it up. I NEVER went back there again.
FYI I have a 2011 full loaded but mine has had headlight issues, and guess how much a used one costs just for one !? $900 ya …. I was shocked but regardless I love it.
automatically shifts as it has the best 8 speed automatic Machatronic transmission a car can have. But if you put it in manual mode you can shift with the Hand driving knob shifter or the paddle shifters on the wheel...
Recently i have become more interested in BMW automobiles. I am going to do some thorough research before i buy one. In your opinion which is the best all around BMW (car) that you would recommend someone to purchase.
The exterior has some minor differences such as some different lines you can get (m sport, luxury, modern, and base). The 2011 model just has a basic line and an M sport line. The most notable change for me are the headlamps as now they can be full LED or bixenon. The 2011 model only offered bixenons. Also not to mention in the 2014 model they changed the idrive controller so you can write on it with your finger. So far those are the only changes to the 5 series. The 2011 and the 2014 models are still very similar.
highly recommend. worth it and you will get tons of features which u never seen before. at the end BMW is all about Rolls-Royce. so no one can beat them. Try it that ultimate driving machine. thank you
Am I the only one who doesn't like the M Sport steering wheel? I much prefer the 5 Series (non M Sport) steering wheel. Does anyone else agree? I am also deciding on if I should get the M Sport package or not? Please share you opinions.
+Andy Kaladjian Personally I love the M Sport steering wheel, I wouldn't get a new Bimmer without it. And the M Sport package as well, even though it adds more than $3k to the price. This is my family hauler/daily driver but I don't want it looking like a grandpa car LOL. I think it gives just the right amount of attitude without being over-the-top.
Thank you for your review of this 5 Series. I was looking at the old body series something of the 2010 or 2009. But your review of this Base Luxury Model is really nice...Yes, I am a tall guy ( 6'2") so, I am looking for larger mid-size. And thanks I would like the real wood inside of the car...Thank you..
5 series or e class ? I'm having a hard time choosing....I enjoy the agressive look of the bmw...dislike the rear though, e class is luxury interior and sweet front. But not as agressive looking...I'm leaning towards e class right now
MultiSavetheplanet1 The Audi A6 is sporty like a BMW and luxurious like a Mercedes. It's the best of both worlds. You also can't beat quattro all wheel drive for confident driving in any weather. Also, the Audi will make you stand out and be different. Look how many BMW's and Mercedes you see on the streets. It's like everyone is a robot who just buys the same car all because of the badge on the front. Stand out, be different from the rest, buy an Audi.
Breaking Cycles "Stand out, be different from the rest, buy an Audi." If you really wanted to be different you would be getting a Jaguar XF or a Volvo S80 :P
Who else is here a couple years later bc they can afford this car now
nah bro still cant afford it
Ahhh hahaha. Yes...
Can you afford the maintainence though. Not likely.
@Lou got one Infiniti M35S
Was actually here to compare its competitor the 2014 Cadillac CTS.
Guys, if you switch it to 720p, the video shows up just fine :)
Seems to be all fixed now. Weird.
it's just fine in 1080 :)
Thanks....

@Yemi That's really the stupidest design trend of recent years. integrated is the way to go
Yea the 5 series is by far the best interior in their class for that time. The new e class is a lot nicer than the new 5 series interior though
They tacked the screen on the new 5
My Lexus GS is in the dash and I freaking love it man
@@SalamiCheeks screen style is preference but overall the E class interior is better than this i could name reasons why
That ZF 8-speed in this car is perfect. ZF knows how to build an amazing 8-speed, and BMW just knows how to tune it perfectly.

I absolutely love my bmw 5 series. The amount of power the engine has is outstanding. It roars on the highway. Very classy car, definitely worth every penny.
Any problems I'm interested in bmw but so many people say its expensive to own
Joshua Thomas It’s expensive because of the parts and maintenance. For the most part they are pretty reliable but just know that when something does go wrong, it will cost a pretty penny.

Nice review. I just bought a new 535i and absolutely love it. I was torn between an Audi A6, Mercedes E350 and am VERY glad went with the 5 series.
Good choice!! Gotta love those Beemers, right??

Damn, 10k miles until its first service, if I were to own one I'd do it at the least every 5k miles.

The BMW 5 Series is worth every penny... Great review of the 2014 BMW 535i. #2014BMW535i #BMW5Series #BMW
My mentor drives this car, it's an amazing car and it defiantly made me to give BMW a second look
This guy gives the best reviews. Thinking about either this or the A6.

A luxury bmw is like a sexy woman, so seductive that you just cannot resist, but you know you're going to pay for it later! :)
Best comment ever lol
😂😂😂😂😅 so true
BMW vastly underrates the amount of power their engines make. This 535i must have close to 370 HP
no its not remotely close to 370 wtf, 306 +/- 2 hp

I love my 5 series best sedan for sure.
getting this in a month 👌 so excited

Never really liked the old 5 series but I love these ones.

Much better looking than the redesigned E Class for 2014, much younger looking than its competition too.

also, i think the entire gauge cluster is LCD, it just has physical sections placed on top of it to give the illusion of a physical dial

The wood is standard on 5 Series. You only pay extra for the "Individual" trims
What does gunning (revving it while in park) the engine do or accomplish? Is it a 12 year old driver?
Yes, I know I'm an old So and So.
I used to take my car to this place for a GREAT car wash at a super price.
I used to go more than once a week sometimes. Then they got this young fellow that would drive the vehicles from station to station. Pressing the gas while the engine is in park is reviving the engine so the person who is watching can get a nice sound from it.
I guess that revving sound is BIG with the pre-teen crowd? They can do it to THEIR engines.
Most drivers want to know what the engine sounds like. How about you piss off with your attitude.
Also 'pre-teens' don't like cars.
BarakaObama2012 That's a pretty strong statement to make. Have you personally surveyed every pre-teen.
Damn your intro reminds me of a CVT lol nice review though man it's really informative but concise.
Keep the videos coming! They're great and are always so fun to watch!
When he closed the back door, I felt safe lol 😂 Love that sound.
bmw 550i and m5 are just awsome, new headlights tech, parking itself ect ect

Does the steering wheel stiff?
What doesn't BMW charge u for? I'm surprise they don't charge people for just walking into their dealerships.
LA Sports ok but how much does every other car company charge for maintenance?? BMW is the best you get taken care of
"Hi, that will be 10$ for your entry fee"
LA Sports wait until you see Porsche options
Believe it or not.
Their customer service inside is Great!
Pricey with Manners.
Nootch!
maybe you shouldn’t worry about the cost broke boy and worry bout getting your bands up
I like it more than the CTS, GS, and RLX.
wow that thing looked boring until you put your foot down. it revs so fast...
You should never judge a cars potential by the way it looks :)
2theRedline Unless you're looking at the Prius, Cube, or Pontiac Aztec. Then run far away.
It revs fast because of the short gearing I think.

BMW interiors may be pretty simple and not that interesting, but hey, it's still a BMW, so the interior quality is not going to be compromised :)

11,1l per 100km is little to much for this engine, or you love high rpm? :)
beautiful interior color!
