Ruth Wilson and Michael Sheen? I am SO in.
When you need a biopic done right, you go to Michael Sheen
It was a privilege to work with Ruth & Michael on this production as Head Newsnight Cameraman.
And *Joanna Scalan!!!*
Hello! Legend!! 😃🤩
🫠
Michael Sheen is one of my favorites. This is a brave choice for him. Looking forward to this!
About as brave as Steve Coogan playing Saville
Ruth Wilson is unrecognizable
Lips look smaller
yh and why is she talking like that

Anything Netflix can do, Prime Video can do…
And amazon does it better
@@crixaliceGillian Anderson was phenomenal
its even got the same shots.

😂😂
It has Michael Sheen. I’m in.
I'm actually loving the fact we had Scoop the film earlier this year which is based on McCallisters point of view & now we have A Very Royal Scandal from Maitlis's point of view...
Just a great fictional cross-examination for all our viewing pleasure
Michael Sheen is so good with biopics for British public figures. He gets the mannerisms right down to the detail
"Scoop" was great on Netflix. This one doesnt look as good but I'll give it a shot.
Ruth really does sound like an uncanny version of Maitlis. Brava!!
Michael Sheen the amazing chameleon actor! 🤩😻💜
Does someone wanna tell Amazon Netflix got to this story first!? 😂
Micheal Sheen man. From Frost Nixon to here. Full circle moment for him.
Michael Sheen!
Terri Coverley doing Prince Andrew's PR? He didn't stand a chance
The difference between this production and Netflix production is that Emily is actually a producer on this! She was involved in this personally
...and Sam (former news producer) was involved in the previous film
Michael sheen eating another role up as expected
Michael Sheen is amazing!! I love him sm 💕💕
her voice omg. soo attractive
I swear I've already seen this shot for shot. There's a glitch in the streaming matrix.
MICHAEL SHEEN
Ruth Wilson is amazing❤️
Ruth Wilson is such an amazing actress.
Interesting that Michael Sheen once played a real life journalist (David Frost) who would question President Nixon actions, and now Michael is playing a real life figure being questioned by a journalist about his actions.
That was the first movie I saw with Michael and have loved him ever since. I was struck by the same switch in roles and I have to wonder if the chance to have another go at this type of story, this time in the role of the fallen public figure, played any role in his decision to take this on.
I'm here for Michael sheen
Ruth Wilson is amazing, as is Michael Sheen. Terrific cast, even though obviously anything not in the filmed interview is invented. Based on the characters of the people involved, but still fiction. I would love to have been a fly on the wall to watch Andrew and his team’s actual reactions before and after the debacle.
This again? Didn’t Netflix already made this?
The one netflix did was written by Sam McAlister, the then producer at new night, as is the Prince Andrew interview from her perspective. This is about the same interview but from Emily Maitlis's (the interviewer of said interview) perspective. As I understand it both women had very different perspectives on the whole situation due to various reasons and this trailer certainly shows that will be the case
I thought I might be interested in this but its kind of like, I've already seen this. Why don't film and tv producers have any ideas? They all just make the same story over and over again,
I suppose its not yet another Spiderman remake.
@@ktwashere5637 Fair enough if you don't want to watch it, but from what I can tell it will be very different. This version is from the perspective of the interviewer (Emily Maitlis) rather than the producer/booker (Sam McAlister) who was the center/focus of the netflix version.
Sam's perspective showed all of the actions and work people had done before she got involved and then everything she did before and during the interview. This version appears to be from Emily's perspective and looks more at the events after the interview (as well as the interview itself).
To my knowledge Sam and Emily didn't time these to happen the same year or anything it was just chance that Netflix and Amazon wanted to do a deeper dive into the circumstances surrounding the interview. Each company has clearly gone in different directions, whether that will make them feel very different, we'll have to see. At the end of the day it's the same events being told by two different women with very different backgrounds and I personally think that's interesting, but you don't have to
@@ktwashere5637new film ideas come out ALL the time. It’s you, who needs to look for them.
@@ktwashere5637 There are plenty of original films and series out there, you just have to search for them. These two films were made by different teams and from different perspectives so it's not the matter of ''not having new ideas''. I guess, at least they could have released those not so close from each other
I've seen the movie with Gilian anderson, it was really good. Great cast
Andrew never had a chance with Terri as his advisor.
So basically the same exact movie as Scoop?? Same shots, same dialogue, same jokes, same music 😂
This is a three-episode show.
This is so deja vu. i 'm sure i've seen this before.
Netflix released Scoop earlier this year that’s why lol
For the 500th time, and people say the royal family are irrelevant. Strange there’s such a demand that they keep needing to make content around Andrew.
Im sure the Royal family is going to love this.
This is a series and Netflix's "Scoop" is a movie, but... so soon?

Mr Sheen is always very polished
What are the chances that two major streaming services are releasing two biographical adaptations about Emily Maitlis interview with Prince Andrew about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein in the same year 2024?? The only difference is that this adaptation will be a mini series and the other one was a movie.
It feels like the time when we watched Emma Corrin as Princess Di in the viral the Crown fourth season and around at the same time, it was announced that Kristen Stewart will be Princess Di in the Spencer Movie. Remember Barbenheimer? yeah this is like that- but right now, it’s actually TWO completely same thing, same plot, same characters but difference is one is a miniseries and the other is a movie, both had different release dates but both are released in the same year. Yeah, we need a name for something like this too.
Well, I get your point and partially agree... But they are not completely the same since the previous film was from Sam's (former producer) perspective and this one is from Emily's (interviewer). They surely could have planned both releases farther apart from each other
Looks good. Ruth and Michael are brilliant in their roles. 👏🏻💯👍🏻
Ummm do they not realize Netflix already did this movie like a year ago?
Nothing is topping Gillian Anderson's performance
There are mistakes here, they're saying 'jeff-REY' but it's actually pronounced 'JEFF-rey'.
Ruth Wilson is spot on as Emily Matliss
What an impression of Emily Maitless
Anyone else hoping this will be a stealth Thick of It sequel? I’d love to see Malcolm Tucker tear Andrew to shreds.
Eh, just watch the interview. It's one of the best things I've ever seen
Agree the interview itself was so unexpectedly box office that these dramas risk falling flat.
@@RobinSmithio Very true. I do love Michael Sheen, but I hope anyone who watches the series takes the 50 minutes to watch the interview too
They've already made this.
I wish it were available for viewing in Japan🥺
Didn’t we see this movie already?
This is a three-episode series
The year is 21291.2 AD. The Human race has explored the reaches of the universe, made first contact with other alien races and still making projects based on one Newsnight interview in 2019.
The is like deja vu. Or was a version with Billie Piper in imagined on my part?
By the time Michael retires, he would have played all popular british personalities, including the queen at some point.
So basically this is Scoop but they wrote out the producer lol. This must be the one Emily Maitlis prefers since she and the producer lady are no longer friends
It's not unusual for the streamers to do their own take of something they saw do well on another platform, though I think it's usually Hulu vs Netflix. Fyre festival, WeWork, Dopesick, and the Mudaugh murder in South Carolina are some of the few that immediately come to mind, but I know there many more. Studios used to sometimes do this, like Dante's Peak vs Volcano or White House Down vs Olympus Has Fallen. But it feels like it happens all the time now.
Still surprised there were no protests about this in the UK or of the abuse that took place in the Catholic church and in the BBC
They only care when non white men do it
I had absolutely no interest in this until the point when the trailer turned the corner and... Michael Sheen!!! I'm in! 😂
I can’t find it on my Prime . Like it’s not there .
Haven’t I already seen this film, Scoop. It looks like it’s the exact same film!
I thought this was the Netflix one hahah
Hang on, haven’t I’ve seen that exact same movie on Netflix like 3 months ago?
I don’t know, so…
@@AndrewIndoChannel I did, it’s called Scoop
@@AndrewIndoChannel Perhaps you educate yourself further.
@@JEdwarrd How about you shut your mouth?
@@AndrewIndoChannel
Why are you so emotional?
I think ruth is a better emily, but i keep ruffus sewell as prince andrew. He was stunning
Well well well scandal it is ladies & gentleman 🎉
No wonder Andrew was dumb enough to do this interview, he had Terri advising him 😂
From playing Frost who interviewed a maligned Political figure. To now playing a maligned Figure
Wait, wasn’t this on Netflix?
she'd play an incredible liz truss
I have already seen scoop feel like this is going to be the same thing. Gillian Anderson was amazing in scoop think I will pass on this
That piano
Uh….netflix did it first
Isn't an exact thing exist already?
Ruth Wilson sounds like the female equivalent of Joseph Gordon-Levitt in "Snowden"
If you’re going to be second, you also have to be better. Truth is this doesn’t look as good as Netflix’s.
So, this is the second film about the Andrew interview....the first being with Gillian Anderson.
This looks 10x better than the other one already
I liked the other one actually. I am looking forward to this being more expansive.
Hasn't this been done already. 🤷🏻♂️
It looks the exact same as the netflix one.
Didn't they already make this movie last year?
Idk if its just me but ruth wilson looks so much like halle berry to me here 😂 i thought halle got in her british bag for this movie 💀
Netflix and Amazon making the same film on the same subject but differently interesting
Gillian Anderson didn’t do a great job as Emily. Ruth sounds great as her!
Looks good but we literally had a movie about this less than a year ago....
It's weird to see Blair playing as Prince Nounce
It's weird you don't know Michael Sheen has played many other roles besides Tony Blair
stop me if youve seen this one before
*I wonder how this will compare to the Gillian Anderson movie*
Sorry… big fan… but Rufus Sewell knocked this one out of the park
Unfortunately, Gillian Anderson was so good in scoop - this just doesn’t compare.
This looks like the B grade version of SCOOP. Why do these streaming platforms insist on making duplicates of bio-pics... Oh right. GREED.
Also.the fact that Andrew isn't in jail tells us that these "bio-pics" are designed to launder legacies.
didn't I just watch this on netflix?
No this is a three-episode series.
We are all going to be comparing it to the Netflix one…
What is wrong with Ruth Wilson's voice?
1:40 is that Edward VIII?
Yep
Alex Jennings! He’s such a great character actor. He stayed at the hotel I work at recently and is a genuinely lovely bloke, as is his partner. Love it when he crops up in stuff!
I don’t know what thing she’s doing with her voice but I don’t like it at all also Gillian Anderson is the better version of this anchors portrayal she looked better sounded better and her speaking voice was a bit deeper in Netflix’s scoop but it wasn’t so deep that you could tell she was faking it
Unlike this actress who sounds absolutely ridiculous 🙄🙄🙄🙄
But they've done this already
Odd casting
Huh...wasn't this already made with Gillian Anderson????
Prime you’re a little late to the party… Netflix did this a year ago
Se vira e DUBLA PRA NOIS PRIME
Those filmmakers are never going to tell the whole story - his accuser Giuffre has a long & shocking history of telling things that were not true, endless inconsistencies & she falsely accused others - but those filmmakers will not even mention this. Some commented that Giuffre destroyed also other people's lives - she accused so many who deny it... but this is often not even reported... to make her look credible
Tells us you work for the palace without telling us.
This film just came out but it’s called scoop on Netflix with Gillian Anderson playing the lead reporter on the whole prince andrew and the Epstein issue
I don’t understand what’s going on with Hollywood why do they keep making doubles of tv shows and films that are literally about the same thing and acted the same way
They did this with the tv shows candy 2022 about the housewife who killed her neighbor and then love and death 2023 with Elizabeth Olsen playing the same role just being produced by a different studio
They should not be allowed to do this it just wastes the public’s time
But they told this story already?
That really high class English accent seems to come from the lowest part of the esophagus possible.
