I just picked up prince of Persia on Thursday and started Rocksmith lis today what r the chances!! What level did u play in so I can b on the lookout. As far as Rocksmith as soon as I got rid of the latency it became a game changer for me. As a guitarist of 25 years this is absolutely incredible software and is expanding my musical genres as a musician and after years of stagnation it’s driven me to explore outside of my comfort zone.
As a bassist and guitar player, i enjoyed Rocksmith and Rocksmith 2014 immensely. A good way to learn and blow off steam. Of course, it sometimes felt like cheating when I already knew the song and mostly how to play it. Haven't tried the new subscription...
Boss Katana-Go + Rocksmith. Great travel setup for me. Though server stability could be better and at least for me it seems a bit american centric in the song selection, which is fine I guess, I mean Metallica ain't that bad and Paul Gilbert is great, etc
As someone who learned playing guitar in the 80s (yep, that old), I understand new toys make sense for new generations. Though I find the visual aspect overwhelming, and honestly. I learned by listening. You know. It's music. Listen to it. Try to duplicate whatever is being played. It is NOT about 100% accuracy (you get there with some exercises and a metronome). It is about getting a feel how players play. And work on your own feel and identity as a player. On the other hand. If it makes people play, good.
I had Rocksmith once for PC. There were songs that I knew how to play. But Rocksmith started with a few notes and simplified chords. So I played the song as I knew it, but Rocksmith noted it as wrong. It was so frustrating. So, then I played what was indicated by Rocksmith and it didn't feel like playing the song at all. It doesn't feel "natural".
You can increase the difficulty through Riff Repeater or the settings menu, it's a shame that wasn't apparent. Or maybe you played in 2011 with the first game
@@RiffRepeater yes, one of the first games. Also, Rocksmith is wrong with guitar parts. Some parts are played by another guiarist in a band. This is a pure commercial for Ubisoft. There are much better ways to learn guitar, theory, skill.
@@Guitarprincess284 I know. I guess I did not explain myself correctly. For example: Satisfaction, the song, started with playing 2 notes. That does not give the impression that you were playing the song. Then notes were added, but still not what is actually played. So, you still not played the song. The problem was that if you did know how the song is played, that Rocksmith penalised you for playing it correctly. That was the point where I lost interest, and I did not think that Rocksmith was a good tool to learn to play guitar. Listening to a song, have a tab sheet with you, and learn how to play it, was better in learning how to play guitar. In that case, you hear what it is being played, can try to figure out yourself what is being played, by not looking at the tab sheet, and actually learn to recognise minor and major keys, which chords are in that key, and start learning the neck of your guitar. For example: Teen Spirit by Nirvana is in 2 different keys. That is something that Rocksmith did not teach. I get that it is interesting to be able to play some songs for a campfire setting. But that is not learning to play guitar.
When the video is sponsored by the maker of the game and you are reviewing it, isn't that a huge over the top conflict of interest. This is a thumbs down for me.
Displaying the low strings on top is a no no tho, just keep the same orientation as tablature. The power chord looks like a minor third, pretty confusing.
If I'd have used this Rocksmith+ I'd have been more confused than using the "Guitar Handbook" I bought in the 80s , a few friends to exchange riffs with, and mags with tabs . I knew some great players for tips and the desire to play. The guitar was confusing enough without mastering a video game!🎸🎶✌️
It’s $99.99 per year, not $140, and yes the 2014 version had great content, but the 2014 UI interface is missing a ton of features the newer version offers.
@@IamMusicNerd I'm canadian so it's $145 with taxes a year. iIf they really have 5 million subs to service that's 500 million a year that's almost 4.5 times the total made from all the previous rocksmiths sales so I would expect it to have more features. I'm not against it the service I just want see it be better.
I feel like if you're watching a screen you can't learn where your fingers are. Also dots scrolling down are not a good way to improve learning. Music tabs are a thing since 1500 more or less. Why not gamify that specific thing
Yeah strange choice to stay so closely resembling guitar hero -I could barely see what’s going on. I literally already learn songs by playing alongside GuitarPro tabs, and having a gamified version of that seems way better. (As well as having options for doing the same with sheet music). I would eat that up, this I’m not so interested in.
Yousician is much better and more intuitive than the Rocksmith+ nonsense. Rocksmith doesn't even use tab as doesn't even invert the strings like on tab. It just seems to be made by people who have never played guitar. Plus its far too expensive. Rocksmith 2014 was ok for some of the technique games.
Better lessons, Piano, and instead of spending thousands of dollars on DLC, you spend thousands of dollars over the years in subscriptions Yeah, it has it's ups and it's downs. . Love the mobile options and interface support though.
I know a 4 year Rocksmith learner and his playing sounds weird. It's very unconvincing and weak and doesn't sound very good. He can get through the songs and just fine as far as the game rating his accuracy and probably 99% of people listening to him wouldn't notice but being a guitarist I can hear the weird.
Damn rocksmith sponsored every guitar youtubers
Because no one wants to play R+ and they're freaking out trying to throw money at influencers to solve the issue
Cheeky Coheed and Cambria riff there 🤘

I also picked that up!
Also came to comment this, nice catch~
Welcome home
Rocksmith is awesome! But get the 2014 version, there are tons of custom songs made by the community too, one time purchase no subscriptions needed.
How and where ? I want to learn songs from the community
@@jonflores5832 google "customs forge" for custom songs. you'll need to purchase "Cherub Rock" by Smashing Pumpkins DLC to use them.

I have this on ps4 and it has audio lag so I keep missing notes etc, very annoying when I'm trying to learn . Hopefully this app is better
There's a way to get around the lag, if you have an audio splitter and speaker system.
I had to look up solutions for my Xbox One
Is the lag just for consoles?
