I have to say, this is probably one of the most inspiring tracks in the game. As a matter of fact the story and cutscenes are handled so masterfully that I honestly was brought to tears for the first time in years by a game's story. The way they handled it as an alternative reality was a genius move and honestly led to one of the most climactic, empowering, emotional, heroic and cathartic endings in the entire series. I love this game
Age of Calamity goes to show the great potential that Zelda games, especially Breath of the Wild 2, can have in storytelling. I previously gave credit to Skyward Sword, but Age of Calamity is the one game that has topped it off for me. Powerful story, real connections to characters who we only knew little from Breath of the Wild, and emotional, dramatic music that amplifies what Breath of the Wild had. Age of Calamity will forever be one of my most favourite Zelda games to this day.
I agree. I still hope it is just that. An alternate reality to make a very fun game exploring "what if". The Ganon fight with this soundtrack ... even though I don't like the time travel, I friggin' loved every second of the ending. Also seeing Zelda regaining her confidence and leading her soldiers like a true Queen was awesome.
My sister and I were playing this last night. All four of our characters were down to one heart, so we decided to just cycle endlessly through them all while attacking. Poor Ganon didn't know who to target, it was beautiful (and yes we won haha)
Something similar happened to me: Link, Zelda and Hestu got beaten to within an inch of their lives by Ganon, so Sooga ended up carrying the team for most of the final boss fight. I like to think the royal family would’ve made him an honorary champion for squaring up to Ganon like that, if he wasn’t canonically dead of course.
@@FelixEvers06 Ok, so spoiler warning for Wave 2 of the DLC, but basically you have to do this: Sooga is unlocked by beating one of the memory quests in the DLC story mission called “The Yiga Clan’s retreat”. Specifically, the “Don’t let any ally flee quest”. There are 2 main things to keep in mind when attempting this quest. Firstly, one of the Yiga blademasters will attempt to sacrifice himself by closing a gate behind him and holding off the monsters. You won’t initially be able to reopen the gate and reach him, but when the first 3 Hollow Links appear on the other side of the boardwalk you will be able to go back the way you came until you reach the gate that was closed. This will cause the gate to open, allowing you to rescue the aforementioned blademaster from the monsters still attacking him, after which he’ll catch up with the rest of the group. Don’t kill the Hollows until you’ve rescued him, as doing so beforehand will cause him to automatically die. Avoid Windblight Ganon and Thunderblight Ganon as they are optional boss fights and your allies don’t have much health to begin with. Just make your way to the end of the level as quickly as possible whilst eliminating any enemies that get in your allies’ way. During the final confrontation with the other 2 Blight Ganons, Sooga will become playable, and if you can then keep the other 3 Yiga alive for the rest of the fight, you’ll unlock Sooga permanently.
When the part at 1:27 kicks in at the final battle while I was fighting along with the other champions!!!Damn! it gave me the chills!!!! An awesome track!! And an awesome game!!!
Easily one of my favorite moments from Zelda and it's just a side game. The cut scenes were so good and I just loved how they dealt with the alternate reality. It's nice to have a "what if" happy ending

One of the best tracks in the SERIES! I played as Revali cause I wanted some sweet multiversal revenge. The intensity of being on low health close to the end was so thrilling. One of the most memorable boss fights I’ve ever beaten.
This boss was actually goddamn amazing. This is how raid bosses in games SHOULD be. Playing this on splitscreen in hero mode was the challenge of a lifetime, but it was amazing. Even though calamity ganon here was massive, he didn't suffer from the issues that most massive bosses do. It just felt natural. And the MUSIC, my god! Beautiful. 11/10 boss, i wish i could fight it again for the first time
I love it too but I prefer the final boss of TOTK even more Ganondorf was badass he looked dead on like Demuse acted like him and transformed into a dragon
No joke I literally had my party decimated to the point to where if any of them got hit again they'd die and I'd have to start the boss fight all over again. I somehow with only a quarter of a heart left as Master Kogha managed to defeat Calamity Ganon
It's funny how Kohgs was one of the few characters to get fleshed in this game. Turning him from one of least favorite characters to my favorite character

I really like the redesigns of the blights and ganon before they all looked the same but now each of the blights has its own color scheme to differentiate them and ganon himself looks great unlike the grotesque spider for from botw he looks more humanoid like ganondorf and actually also looks a lot like demise could this mean demise will be in botw 2 Idk but I still really like these designs way more than botw
A paralel of the Three Sacred Treasures of Japanese Myth. Terrako the Magatama, Link the Kusanagi Sword, and Zelda the Mirror to seal the Demon Orochi.
The first phase theme was Ganon winning. This phase theme is the heroes winning, but Ganon refuses to submit, his evil essence is still heard in the background, dominated, but not entirely choked out by the heroic overtone.
I’d have to disagree there, brother. Sure, this is fantastic, but imo there’s bosses and final bosses who have better themes (Colgera, literally every Sonic Frontiers boss, I could go on)
I played this with my brother, and all the game I used Hestu, probably see a gret tree with feets isn't the most epic thing for a final battle, but was fun
Makes me think of Ganondorf in all his appearances-Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Hyrule Warriors...and finally Breath of the Wild 2. Hopefully, BOTW2 will give us a glimpse into Ganondorf acknowledging himself as the reincarnation of Demise's hatred.

I first played this with my friend on hard difficulty... I was forced to play the character i was worst at,impa as my main at the time revali was pretty much dead and so i had to sit in the corner as impa spamming stasis for damage as my friend made sure i didnt get hit
Probably not, because (*minor spoilers*) his return in TOTK is not connected to Calamity Ganon, so it is perfectly reasonable that Ganondorf is still chillin' underneath the castle in the AoC timeline. With that said, I would love to see a sequel to AoC that involves Ganondorf's return & traveling between the past/Zonai and present timelines...

Now he has revived as a threat beyond the knowledge of any." So Ganondorf's revival is connected to Calamity, but other than that, agree with everything else you said.

Honestly, for anyone else who follows it, this song symbolizes the battle of Life steal, as players were slaughtered by not just the legions of Withers that awaited each terrified soul at every bend, but by themselves. Clownpierce himself, of course, was in the thick of the fight(in my imagination) strangling Roshambo in one hand, and swinging his blade wildly, and his jester's make shattered, revealing the true nightmare within
Now if only the story was better to justify this awesome battle. Like a proper tragic story where everyone still dies, but Zelda still has to go and face Ganon alone, where she almost wrecks shop but can't finish the job, instead locking Ganon and herself in an eternal deadlock. Something like... the actual prequel to BotW we see in the memory cutscenes. Oh well, story rarely matters to me, and while Astor and Terrako are the new worst Zelda characters, the gameplay is excellent and this battle in particular feels like an apology for the Ganon fight in BotW, so it all balances out. 8/10, please don't forget the modified enemies in BotW 2 Nintendo.
Just cuz there was a bait and switch def does not mean this story was bad. There were serious emotional stakes and amazing payoff. I like how the theme starts with what it was probably like during the original timeline, before it shifts to hopefulness to remind you that things are different this time around.

I wish I could relive that for the first time again! It caused to be so in tune with the game and finished it first try, it was so tense!

Honestly, for anyone else who follows it, this song symbolizes the battle of Life steal, as players were slaughtered by not just the legions of Withers that awaited each terrified soul at every bend, but by themselves. Clownpierce himself, of course, was in the thick of the fight(in my imagination) strangling Roshambo in one hand, and swinging his blade wildly, and his jester's make shattered, revealing the true nightmare within

Tbh, Zelda became number 1 in Nintendo at this point.

Now if only the story was better to justify this awesome battle. Like a proper tragic story where everyone still dies, but Zelda still has to go and face Ganon alone, where she almost wrecks shop but can't finish the job, instead locking Ganon and herself in an eternal deadlock. Something like... the actual prequel to BotW we see in the memory cutscenes.
Oh well, story rarely matters to me, and while Astor and Terrako are the new worst Zelda characters, the gameplay is excellent and this battle in particular feels like an apology for the Ganon fight in BotW, so it all balances out. 8/10, please don't forget the modified enemies in BotW 2 Nintendo.
Don't you worry. Nintendo designed these enemies themselves, so they are bound to reappear in Tears of the Kingdom.
Just cuz there was a bait and switch def does not mean this story was bad. There were serious emotional stakes and amazing payoff. I like how the theme starts with what it was probably like during the original timeline, before it shifts to hopefulness to remind you that things are different this time around.
