This apology, the long bow, always stuck with me for some reason. Perhaps because it's rare to see humility like this these days. But it was also an interesting insight for me into Japanese culture and the respect they display.
I think it helps that they likely actually feel genuinely bad for what happened. That kind of empathy is almost unheard of for North American corporations.
i truly know they didn't need to do this but this just show how they were rise and admit to their mistake. I truly respect people like this. MS on the other land will never show and point finger.
I do give Sony praise for been honest about the know vulnerability. Yes, it should have been patched the second it was noticed, but I am sure if it was Microsoft, they would have just denied everything, and say they had no known faults, even if they did. Sony, I praise you for your honesty, and hope that for that reason, your customers stay loyal.
At least Sony have been humble, and shown their humility in spite of such an event. *Thinks of what MS will have done in the equivalent situation...* oh it's not our fault, we have the best service we just got breached... sound familiar? (Edward Snowden's Leaked files about NSA's scandals, except MS wasn't hacked, they sold their information, which I'd say is illegal and deceitful, but the court said otherwise... >:1)
They’re good developers, just pressured from stockholders and higher ups. I think they’ll pull a No Mans Sky and really fix the game but it’s gonna take time. Until then I’m not buying CP77
@@MoHimdi There are some good developers there, but company is to big to have a NMS effect because of those few that care. It's clear that the management and the board do not care about the game itself, they only care about business side of things. This is not a good thing for us. CDP joined the infamous club led by Bethesda :(
Doubt it, now they’re as boring as Microsoft. Hell, Microsoft may be slightly less anti consumer than Sony these days. I remember in the 80s, Sony was the apple of there day. Almost everyone loved them, and their slogan was “It’s a Sony!
It's back up, but in Mortal Kombat you can't redeem your Kombat Pass or get the alternate uniforms because the PlayStation Store isn't back up yet. But you can go to use free trail and play online.
And now after what they did with HELLDIVERS 2, you're potentially going to see another one. . . I even have a PS5 and currently pay for PSN despite their unjustifiable price hike. But pending how this goes, this could be it for me.
Nice gesture, but it doesn't cover up for the major oversights done by Sony. Not keeping the passwords and credit cards numbers encrypted is asking for trouble. Actually, buying a console made by a company whose music CD's infected computers with rootkits is asking for trouble.
I would love to see any european/american companies that would be so foolish as to put themselves in a situation so that they would have to show their humbleness like this.
technically sony shot themselves in the foot. if they kept linux compatibility this would have not happened. they also didnt let the users use the console the way that they see fit. anonymous did a really good job putting sony in there place. but i know that the bow was not sincere cause the ps4 was the biggest mistake in my eyes.
@malborshia agreed, when i saw this footage of the head honchos at sony bowing their heads i was shocked but at the same time appreciative of this gesture..heres hoping its all sorted soon
I asked some of my friends that play PS3 if it is an inconvenient for them that PSN is down. They said 'Oh no, how would it be', it's funny how they used to spend most of the time playing multiplayer. To me, they probably sit there waving back and forth, with a controller trying to log on.
Sony is rebuilding a free online service for its clients.. I can respect that they have taken total responsibility for everything.. who wants to spend more money on free service??
This was big news and I still remember it! It was songs fault and millions around the world were affected and couldn't play online for a month. Couldn't get on ps home either! Shame on you sony!
At first they said a couple of days, then like a week, now its 3 weeks and although Im mormally patient, my patience is wearing thin. How many people have been working round the clock, 2? If its not on by next thursday ( a month later) I think I might invest in an xbox, despite hating them immensely.
@WINxTEC Why to apology?Maybe because 77 million accounts were stolen including Credit Card information and the worst is that they admit they knew the hole in their security but they didnt bother fixing it.
@Nurullah1200 I just got an update on the situation. I heard that PSN won't be fully operational till May 31st. That's a ridiculous amount of time to wait. lol
@iHDGaming720 ikr. i saw somewhere they make $24 million a week from user spending... thats almost $48 million lost so far :( not to mention the money they put into finding the solution to this problem
Hab auch ne PlayStation (3) und ich Spiele normalerweise auch jeden Tag.. Jetzt ein wenig Pause kann auch nicht schaden.. Man kann ja mal "sinnvolles" tun...
@WINxTEC Sony DID have to apologize, they even admitted that they had a hole in the security system but never fixed it. they knew they were vulnerable, it was their fault.
Why is everybody blaming Sony???? Its those SOB's who live in their mothers basements who did this! Many people don't see the obvious and start talking shit towards Sony.
No in america it goes something more like this. "Oh god there is a toe on my McNuggets. I'm going to sue!" "Wait! we will pay you off not to make this public!" "No I can get more money and fame this way." "Fine we will just say you are lying and counter sue for defamation."
Damn u Sony u think u fixed everything but u haven't... When I press "ok" to changing my password to I can play it says "an server error has occurred" and closes...
At least Sony had the decency to apologize. Not many know this but Xbox live has been hacked which effect a small number of users, & Microsoft didn't even acknowledge it. They brushed it off like nothing happened.
See kids. This is the reason why you should not steal your parents credit cards.
exactly
That's why I always top up my PSN Wallet
Fax
This apology, the long bow, always stuck with me for some reason. Perhaps because it's rare to see humility like this these days. But it was also an interesting insight for me into Japanese culture and the respect they display.
Yeah. I agree
Chinese are similar. I worked with them for 5 years.
life is beautiful
Japanese culture. You won't see this much anymore, Jim Ryan has Westernized Sony and moved PlayStation HQ from Tokyo to California.
I think it helps that they likely actually feel genuinely bad for what happened. That kind of empathy is almost unheard of for North American corporations.
I respect sony for coming out and admitting their mistake
Let's just hope they stay up
+Sebastian Quintana ikr.....microsoft wouldn't have...they would have just put out an update
+Sebastian Quintana Steve Jobs would blame the users
why would you have a credit card in the first place thars the most unsafe way to pay
+respect
i truly know they didn't need to do this but this just show how they were rise and admit to their mistake. I truly respect people like this. MS on the other land will never show and point finger.
That's probably the first time I've heard Kaz speak Japanese
Kaz has really great hair. Lol

Sony forever. the fact that is a japanese company means alot. their humility is deep rooted into their culture. they never let me down
And now?
now changed because is not SCE in japan ,is SIE in US,SIE is american company
I would love to see any european/american company show their humbleness like this.
they have my respect
I love you.
At least Sony have been humble, and shown their humility in spite of such an event.

Sony is a Japanese company. They are SUPPOSED to be humble.
TheSonicfanx1 Wow, the racism is strong in this one.
Balram Shanker Trivedi
I'm American as well and I believe that most American COMPANIES are like that.
TheSonicfanx1 I can't say that I disagree. Good point lol.
***** I'm aware of that.
Japanese people are always kind.
I'm not japanese BTW.
That is such a nice comment. I didn't write it BTW.
Looking at your avatar (and your comment), you certainly want to be...
@Rana Shut up *RANA*
Umm they werent always.... pearl harbor.....
I love my waifu, she’s an angel from Japan. 🥰
Hey CD Projekt - this is how apology should look like

Its april 2024, and after all these years, This moment suddenly came to my mind at 11:52 PM, and here I am leaving my mark.
Wonder if the new Western Sony would ever do this level of apology.
Doubt it, now they’re as boring as Microsoft. Hell, Microsoft may be slightly less anti consumer than Sony these days. I remember in the 80s, Sony was the apple of there day. Almost everyone loved them, and their slogan was “It’s a Sony!
I remember this, I had to go back to the wii......
Yahooblue42 Wii took a wee
Too bad wii is now offline
Unless you use wiimmfi or something
This comment was 7 years ago. It's 2020 and the Wii is now a dead console that nobody uses but I remember 2013 the good ol days
It’s happening again 💀
PS I Love You XOXO brought me here.
+luciddre4m YUPP
+luciddre4m me too XD
Same here
Yeah same here lol beyond !!!!!!
same
This is how you produce polite generations with full of morals. They teach the next generation that if you want to become great, be humble.
Where can I see the full apology video?
Where can i find the full video?
It's back up, but in Mortal Kombat you can't redeem your Kombat Pass or get the alternate uniforms because the PlayStation Store isn't back up yet. But you can go to use free trail and play online.
Sony management is a class act.
Knowing the context, they fully deserved everything that happened and more.
What about the problems now with network
And now after what they did with HELLDIVERS 2, you're potentially going to see another one. . .
I even have a PS5 and currently pay for PSN despite their unjustifiable price hike. But pending how this goes, this could be it for me.
Cancel ps plus
What's to fix made it look longer this made it shorter
Nice gesture, but it doesn't cover up for the major oversights done by Sony. Not keeping the passwords and credit cards numbers encrypted is asking for trouble.
Actually, buying a console made by a company whose music CD's infected computers with rootkits is asking for trouble.
Those were the days, now Kaz is the honcho of Sony XD
it went from 77 mil to 101 mil
Does anyone know if they're using the money from PSN now that it's a paid service to strengthen their network?
Im pretty sure their network is alot more times more secured now. And they probably update the security more often.
Always remember, the first thing is to apologize, it helps a lot
Konami is going to be doing the same thing for Metal Gear fans in a few months or maybe weeks.
You're right, it was over 50 on the launch models...
I would love to see any european/american companies that would be so foolish as to put themselves in a situation so that they would have to show their humbleness like this.
That bow was sincere
technically sony shot themselves in the foot. if they kept linux compatibility this would have not happened. they also didnt let the users use the console the way that they see fit. anonymous did a really good job putting sony in there place. but i know that the bow was not sincere cause the ps4 was the biggest mistake in my eyes.
@@kennethloung3422 are you a xbox fan or something the ps4 is about to hit 100m in 6 years
@malborshia agreed, when i saw this footage of the head honchos at sony bowing their heads i was shocked but at the same time appreciative of this gesture..heres hoping its all sorted soon
when is it comming back up!?:O
I swear I wanted to cry when they bow....it's not their fault they got hacked,,T_T
we forgive you!!
where the hackers ever arrested?
Everyone (both regular and Plus) gets one free month (30 days) of Plus and Qriocity as well, on top of the selected free content.
I'm feeling the same way. I can't wait for that day to come.
It's out right now. ☹ ps4
Update: My game needed an update. Wasn't down.
sonybros never recovered from this
360 4ever

Sony is rebuilding a free online service for its clients.. I can respect that they have taken total responsibility for everything.. who wants to spend more money on free service??
how do you change your password when you go back online
Thumbs up if you forgive sony, there is no other company that did apologize like that
Never heard of Qriocity until now... I was fully aware of when this happened, though...
@dilliot2k in case you weren't aware bowing to show courtesy in Japan is common, and is a sign of respect.
my system is hacked what do i do.
what's the bottomleft game at 1:33
Who’s here after the 2023 attack?
Thank god its back up
This was big news and I still remember it! It was songs fault and millions around the world were affected and couldn't play online for a month. Couldn't get on ps home either! Shame on you sony!
Yes... Yes, bow before me. Now commit Harakiri, to preserve your honor!
yes
Why do they have PS3's for display
@Speardude123 me too, I turn my ps3 on just to see if the network is back up, and every time that message pops up... I get pissed!
At first they said a couple of days, then like a week, now its 3 weeks and although Im mormally patient, my patience is wearing thin. How many people have been working round the clock, 2? If its not on by next thursday ( a month later) I think I might invest in an xbox, despite hating them immensely.
Its weird how you really can't stay mad at someone bowing down to you
correct me if im wrong but its a sign of immense respect in japan.
IM PISSED OFF TOO BUT PEOPLE NEED TO CALM DOWN
ITS JUST A GAME
YOU'LL LIVE
@WINxTEC Why to apology?Maybe because 77 million accounts were stolen including Credit Card information and the worst is that they admit they knew the hole in their security but they didnt bother fixing it.
The PSN is down, the sun is in my hair, I smell the fresh air, I have a life after all.
@Nurullah1200 I just got an update on the situation. I heard that PSN won't be fully operational till May 31st. That's a ridiculous amount of time to wait. lol
put only the first hacker in jail giving ass
that all these hackers disappear
I don't want "select games" for free... but I wouldn't mind a free credit to get some DLC for the games I actually like. :3
@iHDGaming720 ikr. i saw somewhere they make $24 million a week from user spending... thats almost $48 million lost so far :( not to mention the money they put into finding the solution to this problem
i didn't know sony apologized like this..
I remember this like it was yesterday I was 16 and all I wanted to play was cod and battlefield
damn i thought the bow wouldve been longer
when I was told it was a long bow I imagined it like a 30 minute bow xD
seriously, they shouldn't apologize like that. I mean yeah it was down, but we should have already forgave them with just one word.
they would keep it quiet
BP's aplogy wasn't too shabby
@Fuice1 it would take 1kid a whole year to break through, it was a team of hackers, and they had external help, read the chat logs they released.
the japanese apologize in a way tha breaks y heart :'(
I refuse to play console, but this makes me want to buy a Sony.
@RocketboyX
who said i had to be near your computer to access it ;-)
This is called a PR stunt, not a show of humbleness.
PlayStation is still the best console out there.
wow , the hackers made them bow.
Hab auch ne PlayStation (3) und ich Spiele normalerweise auch jeden Tag.. Jetzt ein wenig Pause kann auch nicht schaden.. Man kann ja mal "sinnvolles" tun...
This sickens me too much to keep watching.
i dont think sony should apologize for getting hacked...i think the apology should be more for the way they handled it....very poor
if the special downloadable content is a Black Ops map pack then im going to throw my controller at the tv
Oh, so what do you call Microsofts 40% fail rate on the 360? I can't even remember them giving an apology.
Wow did not expect this. Must be because I live in the west
if it comes back with no lagging issues and screen froze on black ops i will forgive them
No in america it goes something more like this.
"Oh god there is a toe on my McNuggets. I'm going to sue!"
"Wait! we will pay you off not to make this public!"
"No I can get more money and fame this way."
"Fine we will just say you are lying and counter sue for defamation."
Its ok Sony I will still be buying your systems when im 103.
Damn u Sony u think u fixed everything but u haven't... When I press "ok" to changing my password to I can play it says "an server error has occurred" and closes...
I seriously think that they didn't need to apologize or to give us ps plus and other stuff.
THE ONLY person who should apologize is the HACKER...
@MrQ8center This didn't take place in japan at all, earthquake has nothing to do with it. Was in california....
And it got breached again. By only about 3 people :/
it did not get breached lizard squad overloaded the server
Peter Hutchinson whats lizard squad
It wasn't breached. It was d.d.o.s attacked. Which means they just overwhelmed the server with bots until it crashed.
aargh so many days without hockey ultimate team on nhl11 . makes me crazy. hurry up
They have not shut down psn network is 2017 now
Mergim Ukaj pfttttt hahaha i can assure you, Japanese people are not always kind. At all, just like humans in general. What a riot.
Ive now recieved alot of "Lol see Xbox is better dey dun get hacked!" but still P2P is a bit lame in my opinion, especially for a console
so i can download fifa11 (no demo) for free?
At least Sony had the decency to apologize.
Not many know this but Xbox live has been hacked which effect a small number of users, & Microsoft didn't even acknowledge it. They brushed it off like nothing happened.
It was hacked but it also got ddosed attacked which means they overloaded the server
@MrQ8center
???
Yes, we should apologize to Sony even though they allowed our information to get leaked!!!!!
