Shivsena was never started on basis of hindutva. It was founded for Marathi manus. Prabodhankar Thackeray was a social reformer who always criticised " shendi janvyache hindutva". Except Ram mandir they didn't have any stand of extreme hindutva. Shivsena has supported Congress many times in past.
