Pilot floored it on take-off and left it that way could be mistaken but don't believe the autothrottle will override the pilot manually setting TOGA. It would be dangerous to do so imagine if you need to perform a go-around and set Take Off Go Around power and the system reduced throttle while you are trying to climb from just a couple of hundred feet above the ground. This setting is only to be used when you need to get away from the ground ASAP so it would be dangerous to override it.

As Maher Justice said earlier: The marshaller is signaling to continue forward until he spreads his arms where he would slowly bring his arms together above his head and crosses the marshalling wands together in which you should stop the aircraft. it works in the new MFS. For someone so knowledgeable about flying, I would expect you to know that.
For someone so knowledgeable about flying, there's still a lot he doesn't know, but he's not a professional pilot so we should give him a bit of slack. :)
That cruise montage is absolutely beautiful. The developers have really created a gem, one that is only going to get better as time goes on. Brilliant choice of music too Squirrel! (Trevor Kowalski - Gold amog the Sand, if anyone's wondering)
I worked at CWL back in the day (2003) and there's a number of inaccuracies here based on my own experiences: -There were three airbridges: Gates 5, 6, and 7 (7 was the largest, at the end of the pier). They did not use pneumatic tires. -Planes generally weren't parked where that King Air is visible at 45:06, that area was where the buses parked up when not in use. The Air Wales ATRs would go around the back of that side of the terminal where there were several gates to minimise the amount of time passengers spent walking on the apron. -Where they put you was almost exclusively used for cargo, as it was fairly close to the cargo area (the long white building). Unless something bigger was expected, you would probably gave been put onto Gate 6 or 7 with an A320 (if picking up passengers). One of the freighters that we'd see visiting was a Lockheed Electra, which was something else! -The enormous BA Maintenance hangar (across the former runway 21 from the terminal) is conspicuously absent. Whatever the sim has plonked down there is not nearly big enough. -The control tower is missing! Back in the bad old days of FS3 and 4, sometimes that was the only build an airport had, along with its runway! -The surrounding area is farmland, not forest. Not bad for autogen of a mostly forgotten airport (many in SE Wales go to Bristol for their flights anyway!)
Lights on taxiways are all over the place. Clearly lots of potential for 3rd parties to tidy up airports. Which is a good thing ! Maybe a user friendly tool will be released allowing us to tune up our local airports a bit.
Cardiff is my home Airport and as default it looks OK for a starter...the ground crew were way out and parked you way short of the gate 7 which is to the left of where they parked you but hey! this is a great start and things will get tidied up over time. Thank you Squirrel for the insight to the sim.
TH-cam seems to compress this aspect ratio way harsher than 16:9 and its very annoying to me. Could you try uploading to a different platform as a test to see how it looks?
Squirrel, if you read this, you can export your video as UHD to bypass the terrible codec applied to non 4k videos. You don't need to worry about changing your timeline, just however you want, get a 4k file. You'll then be using the VP9 codec after youtube's conversion. which is way better
@@Lukewillcreate That helps but I feel like the TH-cam transcoder does not like certain aspect ratios, it might not have a proper preset. 16:9 videos do not look as compressed to me.
@@NickyNiclas TH-cam's compression ratio is the same regardless of your aspect ratio. So if you have less pixels in total, it will still do the same reduction.
@@JJRicks TH-cam supports ultrawide and I doubt he uploaded too low of a bitrate, I'm still going to blame TH-cam, they could easily bump up the bitrate and make it look better.
Yeah, this plane isn't good for anything in its current state, it can't do basic vnav, constantly oscillating from side to side and far too many systems are inop. I really hope that FSLabs are porting their 320 over to FS2020 because this is painful to watch. The sim looks insanely good though, and with some more handcrafted airports and flying on vats this might be the best sim ever, in a year or two.
It is videos like this that are making be decide to only get the standard edition and use the money I save to get a decent third party aircraft. Although I watched another video previously where the A320 performed much better. Videos like this where the person doesn't know what they are doing are certainly not helping Microsoft sell it. The main attraction is definitely the graphics though.
@@escapedcops08 We all know it's a preview build. That means we have to be critical, so we can make sure Microsoft gets rid of these problems. I'm sure they will update and patch out all the problems, but watching this video makes me wonder what the state of the game will be on release. Right now, it looks super good and really promising, but I also feel like the game is gonna be released a little bit unfinished with problems like these. Still though, the game is miles ahead of xplane and Flight Simulator X and I really wanna see what the community can come up with in this game and how fun it would be to fly a PMDG in Flight Simulator 2020. Anyways, yes, we all understand this is a preview build.
Considering the landing approach, you done it really well and got back on track and handled the touchdown great. I was in awe tbf 👏👏👏👏👏👏 well done mate
because it is not ludicrous simmers tend to completely overstante or understate things here and there it looks a bit off but even the off scenarion look 100 times better than any sim offered up to now
After take-off, gear & flap retraction, REDUCE power to climb power (approx 90% N1 RPM). An aircraft reduces from take-off to climb power after gear & flaps retracted. This will get your speed under control, as well as less water & tear on engines. Airspeed can also be controlled by vertical speed (for aircraft without FMS). Happy Flying!
Really really fascinating clip this. Much appreciated. The combination of a real pilot trying to really fly a real plane, and the game(simulator) responding to that, is unbeatable.
@Necramonium I've seen it in one of the videos. It works fine. You can ask for pushback left-right-stop, connect/disconnect jetway, baggage, service and fuel truck that actually fills your tanks.
I remember back when the first videos came out after you guys got invited to see the preview of this sim. In one of the videos the pilot was going to try an ILS approach. He was told by one of the developers that for some reason the ILS was bringing people in, well to the left of the runway. Now, if that was something easy to fix, you would think they would have taken care of it by now. If it is not something easy to fix, lets hope they figure it out in the next two weeks.
Well, I thought you did very well considering the Bugs in they team, you managed to overcome them. Nice commentary lo throughout the flight, explaining exactly was going on. Thank you very much for your time and effort hoping us this.
Waving hi to my cousin in Cardiff - very nice video... This program is going to force me to build a whole new computer . Hope that Honeycomb yoke and throttle are supported well.
Totally agree. I think I'm just gonna spend the first couple months in Cessnas, so that hopefully they work the kinks out of the A320 and B748 in an update before I dare to jump in those cockpits.
There are some illusion-breaking things in there for sure. The autopilot barely does what you're trying to tell it to, and the ground crew seems completely random, they don't know what they're doing. There's a lot of work to be done on this sim for sure. It still looks absolutely amazing.
Great video! That forward slip during the last half-mile forced that sink. Typically, just easing in the rudder correction along with the flare works well. If it's a very strong xwind, the correction may need to start when crossing the threshold.
Makes me feel better some of these flight simulators. Such a real effect of sunny skies and detail all around actually lifts the spirit if you feel a bit flat...as some are prone to do. This is great 👍
The one thing that's missing is louder ambient audio - and it would be amazing if your voice came through a headset effect. It would really feel as though the audience is on the flight deck being given a running commentary in the real world. Would really up the authenticity level.
It's actually crazy to me that someone who used to fly the actual airplane can hop in and even being rusty, just do all of that as well as you did. This simulator might need some work to make everything exactly right, but seriously, this is cool as hell.
those "pressurization" noises are actually the "Power Transfer Unit." It pressurizes the yellow hydraulics during a very brief period during which the blue hydraulics are pressurized and the yellow are not yet pressurized **and** the PTU is not inhibited (which it is during engine start)

I'd love to see the full use of what the sim has to offer. Checklists, ATC, all of that.
I worked at CWL back in the day (2003) and there's a number of inaccuracies here based on my own experiences:
-There were three airbridges: Gates 5, 6, and 7 (7 was the largest, at the end of the pier).
"A warm welcome aboard from the flight deck ladies and gentlemen; my name is Captain Squirrel......" *gets off plane
Lights on taxiways are all over the place. Clearly lots of potential for 3rd parties to tidy up airports. Which is a good thing !
Maybe a user friendly tool will be released allowing us to tune up our local airports a bit.
I can't wait to play it!
My PC: I be heading out.
Whats your specs thoo
@@cofeemugs9733 I not sure.
The more of these videos I see from you, the more excited I am to be able to fly around in this sim when it’s released.
Aside from the VNAV, I hope they fix those yaw and roll oscillations. Pretty distracting seeing that rocking of the wings at cruise.
Tought it was turbulence but I guess autopilot is dumb.
The clouds in this game are incredible
Cardiff, My home airport!!!!! Dreary weather as per usual 🤣
Those graphics are stunning. The water & clouds are photo realistic.
The 'left' wasnt your main problem. You landed short. You were under the GS.
Love what you did with the Cruise sequence. Good form.
hopefully they fixed that landing.. seems to be no bounce as though the tires are made out of rock.
@@NickyNiclas looks like he exported as ultrawide, it's not youtube's fault :P
@@JJRicks TH-cam supports ultrawide and I doubt he uploaded too low of a bitrate, I'm still going to blame TH-cam, they could easily bump up the bitrate and make it look better.
Love that middle section with that gentle piano. Exhilarating! Great work. Many thanks.
It's a beta, this kind of version are made to find bugs and fix them before the release of the game.
PREVIEW BUILD
What part of that statement did you NOT understand?
@@kemro5461 We're two weeks before release. Don't be naive. There's no magical build that is fixing most of this stuff.
Dude! This is an absolutely gorgeous video! Wish I had preview build access! Can’t wait for the 18th!!
“Just a preview bug I’m sure they’ll get that sorted “ with 10 days to go 🤔
paul walton hope they fix the rocking during flight
This preview build could have been completed months ago.
@@Sam-pn2kc It was rocking people to sleep.
User bugs seem to never go away...
Considering the landing approach, you done it really well and got back on track and handled the touchdown great. I was in awe tbf 👏👏👏👏👏👏 well done mate
31:51 HOW IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THESE LUDICROUS CLOUDS
because it is not ludicrous
simmers tend to completely overstante or understate things
here and there it looks a bit off but even the off scenarion look 100 times better than any sim offered up to now
@@pieterduplessis6906 i agree at some points its photorealistic and better than anything seen before. But sometimes it also reminds me of older sims.
27:18 looks so stunning.
Next episode on Microsoft Flight Sim: Cardiff to Rostock
These videos are so chilled out and relaxing, especially before bed. I love the shots of you cruising with the music. Thank you
"Now notice the way that roll works"
Plane: I'm going to throw you into the other side of the aisle
You have a super chill voice. Something that's chill enough to just have on. But also good content to pay attention to
Me: Damn icing looks real
Also me: realizing it was a crack in my screen
After take-off, gear & flap retraction, REDUCE power to climb power (approx 90% N1 RPM). An aircraft reduces from take-off to climb power after gear & flaps retracted. This will get your speed under control, as well as less water & tear on engines. Airspeed can also be controlled by vertical speed (for aircraft without FMS). Happy Flying!
"Seems like he's just waving" - lol - no, you need to go ahead till he brings up a stop sign.
Really really fascinating clip this. Much appreciated. The combination of a real pilot trying to really fly a real plane, and the game(simulator) responding to that, is unbeatable.
Is it possible to programme the mcdu from scratch instead of putting it in the menu?
yes you can program it manually
@@TheBabie113 will it show your flight plan or do you have to use 3rd party to do it
Yes it will no 3rd party add on needed
TheBabie113 so how will you know your route/airways?
Noah Henshaw simbrief is one way to do it. Free online and pretty awesome
The crazy climb rate is because you have expedite mode on, the button is below the altitude selector, very entertaining video with it on though lol
Hi Squirrel next time try if pushback work from ATC, and other stuff like GPU, jetway
Jim Jasutis let's hope I think they will do a lot of fixes after release they have 10 days to go they said fixing in progress
can you fly over Tokyo at evening or night? i would love to see the amazing view
Well, I thought you did very well considering the Bugs in they team, you managed to overcome them. Nice commentary lo throughout the flight, explaining exactly was going on. Thank you very much for your time and effort hoping us this.
The plane on the whole flight: Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle
Waving hi to my cousin in Cardiff - very nice video... This program is going to force me to build a whole new computer . Hope that Honeycomb yoke and throttle are supported well.
They have got a lot of bugs to work out in 2 weeks. I'd be sick if I was rocking side to side like that on that flight.
Totally agree. I think I'm just gonna spend the first couple months in Cessnas, so that hopefully they work the kinks out of the A320 and B748 in an update before I dare to jump in those cockpits.
I will be suprised if they can make it till the 18th.. I dont think so. This will need more development for at least 6 months..
I was always surprised the release date was so soon to be honest.
zombi111980 yeah especially the terrain.Big mistake using bing
The fs2020 was launched in beta just as it was on the xplane 11
There are some illusion-breaking things in there for sure. The autopilot barely does what you're trying to tell it to, and the ground crew seems completely random, they don't know what they're doing. There's a lot of work to be done on this sim for sure. It still looks absolutely amazing.
-I'm gonna show you the weather changing from good to bad.
>he doesn't
Great video!
That forward slip during the last half-mile forced that sink. Typically, just easing in the rudder correction along with the flare works well. If it's a very strong xwind, the correction may need to start when crossing the threshold.
In the future can u pls do more full flights. For example 1 hour flights or 2 hour flights. I would definitely watch those
Makes me feel better some of these flight simulators.
Just imagining what the passengers are thinking during that take-off lol.
I'm a rocket maaaaaaaan!
those "pressurization" noises are actually the "Power Transfer Unit." It pressurizes the yellow hydraulics during a very brief period during which the blue hydraulics are pressurized and the yellow are not yet pressurized **and** the PTU is not inhibited (which it is during engine start)
5:30 for a new pilot to know all these buttons in game, they need a thorough, and i mean intense tutorial😂😂
I will be posting a video shortly.
