Love your Videos, and have become a little obsessed with your Channel. Great Stuff! Question, Turbine beginner, sorry, about tubing and fitting sizes. How to tell when mean OD or ID? And secondly (Somewhat related to the first question) regarding tubing and UAT sizes. I have a Swiwin 140B going into a TopRC Hawker Hunter, and am thinking of the following setup: 6mm Vent - 6mm Tank fittings- 6mm to UAT (MAP 4oz Hi-Flow) - 6mm reduced to 4mm just before Pump (140B Pump input appears to be 4mm - then 4mm to Valve - Filter - 140B. Or just 4mm all the way through. 140B seems to be on tipping point from standard to Hi-Flow? Thank you, Jim Reay Dunedin, NZ
Hey Jim! Thanks so much for watching! I truly appreciate it! So the tubing commonly used in our turbine setups is 3mm, 4mm, 6mm and 8mm. 3 isn't really common any more. Typically even the small turbines now use 4mm as standard. 8mm is for high flow setups so you wouldn't generally see that till your in the upper size. For your setup you are on the right track but here is what I would change. install a 4mm piece on the intake nipple of the pump. cut it off flush with the nipple. then fit your 6mm coming from the UAT feed over top of the 4mm piece on the pump intake. Safety wire this connection. Now your pump is un restricted. Generally the MAP UAT's come with a brass step down adapter. That works too but the method I mentioned is simple and works. Always keep the pump intake short and as large size as possible and you won't have any issues with the pump intake.
Question for ya I'm putting 160 jingle tech in odyssey I'm getting whistling when top throttle I moved the turbine pipe back does it need to be moved further or do you think the turbine is not straight blowing out exhaust..please help thanks
If you can, send me a couple pictures via email. thelightersideofrc@gmail.com. Initially my thoughts are if the pipe has a big bell mouth than the further out of the bell the turbine is the more whistle you typically get. But send me some pics and I’ll look at them.
The important thing to think about is what can the turbine use for fuel. In all my kingtech turbines I can use Kerosene, JetA and Diesel. I prefer Kerosene or JetA myself. I have used Diesel but it is stinky and there is quite a bit of smoke on shutdown/cooldown.
Oh boy! There are really so many options now with different sport jets and scale jets. Really comes down to what you want and what your comfortable with. That engine would be a perfect fit for the AD Diamond I just built or the CARF L-39 that we just switched to a KT210. When you say PNP your looking for something prebuilt?
@@skinnydip6784 not sure of the kit manufacture but there are a few 3D Jets out there with vectored thrust. For the smoke system just need a nozzle a the hot section, smoke pump and a tank. I did a video on how to install a smoke system recently. About 5 or 6 videos ago.
Yea the original turbine that we took out was a 160 as well. So it won’t have any more power with the new engine but it’s lighter and better throttle response
Thanks for the videos. I am new to turbines and your installation videos is helping my setting up my HSD F16 Turbine in the Belgian Air Force scheme.
Awesome! That’s great to hear! Thanks for watching them!
This is amazing. Thanks for posting such complex and explanatory videos about RC jet planes.
You're very welcome! Thanks for checking it out!
I want to say thank you for all of your videos espcecially me im new and want to join the turbine world. 😀❤️
Thanks so much for your kind words and for watching!
Very technical Jonathon but you make it look easy!! Great idea about hitting the thumb down button twice👎👎😉 Great video👍
Thanks Ian! Trying to be thorough!
👎🏻👎🏻😂😂😂
Awesome 👌
Thank you so much for this wonderful video👍🏼
You bet! Thanks for watching!
Really cool tips thanks a lo! Subbed 🤙🏻
Thanks!

It’s a good video because it’s going to help people
Thanks 😊. That exactly why!
That’s orsum, can’t wait till I get a turbine one day. Will look out for the rest of the build 👍🏻
Thanks 😊
i realize I am kinda off topic but do anybody know of a good site to watch newly released series online ?
@Zechariah Donald i would suggest FlixZone. Just google for it =)
@Zeke Malachi yup, have been using Flixzone for since march myself :D
@Zeke Malachi Thank you, signed up and it seems to work :) I really appreciate it !!
thank you very much for uploading this...
It's my pleasure
Great series, now subbed and liked. Love your build series also, keep up the great work 👍🏼
Awesome, thank you for watching and subbing!
Looking forward to part 2 😁

@@thelightersideofrc Wow Jonathan, extremely prompt reply. Very nice. And a simple suggestion. I like that too. Thank you very much.

@@thelightersideofrc ok I will tonight
what kind of fuel do you use on the turbine and whats the best and cheap.

i definitely dont need this but i just felt like watching this video😭😭
LOL. Thanks for watching!
I fly off grass. I am new at jets.this will be my first jet..i was thinking i need the extra power to fly off grass
a little extra power doesn't hurt! We upside quite a bit as we are at 3200 ft above sea level so we loose about 15% of our thrust.
Will the 60b be good for a sebart avanti 90mm jet ???
The 60 will be a lot of turbine for that plane. Typically you would install a30-45 size.
What is the best fuel to use in g4 turbines mixed with king tech oil? Diesel or kerosene?
Both will work great. I personally don’t like diesel as it’s stinky and smokes a lot on cool down but lots of guys around me use it and it’s perfect
What is recommend for the "hold down bolts"? I have a Swiwiwn 80, I got 2nd hand (no bolts) Can I use wood screws?
Yea wood screws will work great. you can also use blind nuts and appropriate hardware but i'm not a fan of blind nuts myself.
@@thelightersideofrc okay, I wasn't sure if I should match the screws used in the bracket.
i have jet engine ATJ 220sv, do you have recomendation the best PNP body for that engine?
Oh boy! There are really so many options now with different sport jets and scale jets. Really comes down to what you want and what your comfortable with. That engine would be a perfect fit for the AD Diamond I just built or the CARF L-39 that we just switched to a KT210.

Plug n play i mean, you know the link whre to bought KT210? i want shipping in indonesia
th-cam.com/video/hhwv-Hos8xA/w-d-xo.html do u know what the engine and body in this videos? and how he can blow some smoke if he want to? thats dope!
