So after contemplating getting one of these for the last couple of years, my wife just presented this very plane for my b-day. The sexiest plane that anyone ever stuck a propeller on! Amazing wife!!! I haven't taken it out of the box yet but will get started on it next week I hope. Thanks for making the video. I'm making it part of my "training track"!
I have an older one and did a few mod's to mine also. Locked the flaps in an up position and did not connect the aft vent on the Fuse. Really love flying Bunnie. one of my favorites of my Squadron of 545 Planes. A serious HOBSESSION.
you have 545 planes?? That''s like 5 times how many we have here! Since I know how much space they take up, here's the question- where do you put them all?
@@Killerplanes Good Morning Sir. I have been collecting R/C aircraft for the past 50 years. As per where do I keep them. Everyone asks me that question. I live in a 1200 Square foot house, with 2 Br's and a large Glassed in front room. Most are hanging from the props. Also 2 enclosed Trailers and the Hanger where I keep my Full Size Seaplane. N32DQ. You know that I have to be a Bachelor. No Women would stand for it. Married once , but didn't take. 35 drones, 40 Surface craft, boats and even a Jet Turbine Tornado, sitting on my Pool table. Fly each week and cycle through them to keep them happy. Seriously HOBSESSION. Even convert friends planes from Nitro to Electric. Otherwise I hope you have a Great Day. They refer to me in town as " Captain Morgan". Retired Rum Promotional of 26 years. Arrgh!
Very impressive and gorgeous plane. Love the way it sounds also! The P-51 has the absolute best flying characteristics of any plane I've ever flown, and it's not even close. I think I'm going to try to talk my son into buying this for my Christmas present! ha!
Love the logo! You got my subscription. I've been A "gasser" all my life. When electric first came out , they had no power, you needed lightweight Plastic spoke wheels and maybe had two minutes in the air and half hour recharge. And the planes were small. It is amazing how for they've come in ten years. That is a beautiful ship. Keep up the good work. Again, as a military aviation historian of a senior age, LOVE the logo.
+Spawn 1960 Thanks! We have the shirts for sale on the website, or you can get one for free with a plane with SUPERMAX Crashproofing. And yes, it's SERIOUSLY amazing how far they've come in 10 years- like this baby, for example. And with properly designed reinforcement, the foam actually DOES absorb impacts like a shock absorber. Love it!
About time someone realized we are not all Chuck Yeagers. How much weight did the mods add? Nice to hear a woman cohort. Not enough women in the hobby . Shows the family friendly side to it. Instead of "the guy going off", the family having a good time together . Been to too many meets were the women seem to be bored or just "tolerating" the experience Great post.
I'm not Chuck Yeager? But... SUPERMAX level reinforcement adds about 10% weight on this plane. In my mind, the math always goes "let's see....10 times harder to break for 10% added weight? I'll take that on everything I own!
That is such a beauty! Bummer that it's so expensive to get those things to Germany. And excellent work behind the camera, Denise, you are pro centering the shot even when Steve is at erratic-mode... ;-)
Hi mooq! We sure wish we could just "fly" one over to you! This plane really had us standing with our mouths open. She looks SO REAL in the sky! And thank you so much for your kind words about my (this is Denise) camera work. It's people like you who keep us going! : D
When you have sixty seven inches, size definitely matters! And that thing flies scale without trying. Beautifully smooth. According to Wiki, the best ones have a Packard built version of the Merlin engine with twin superchargers. But this one sounds like it just has one massive supercharger! And that four blade prop adds something cool to the overall sound.
Way to go Steve..Bigger planes do fly better.. And with crashproofing it's even better.I've seen beautiful planes have one crash and they're not the same afterwards..Almost done with my Dynam Hellcat with your crashproofing and I can see the differents crashproofing makes..Keep up the good work..
Hi PatBALEX, Thank you so much for viewing and commenting! I do hate to admit it, but bigger is better! Glad you "get" the concept of Crashproofing. Gosh it just pains me to see those giant beauties nose in and smash into a bunch of pieces. OUCH! Good luck with your Dynam Hellcat and keep us posted on how she files and holds up with the carbon fiber reinforcement. We love to see vids and photos on our FaceBook Page too!
Forgot to mention- I devised a new method of protecting the nose on "removable cowl" planes like the Hellcat, which adds protection for about another 5 or more MPH. Another thing that had me asking "why didn't I think of this 3 years ago?"
+Nate Wallinger We can't show anything else on the video- it's already done! The SUPERMAX Crash kit has some plastic parts, and there's an additional kit for others, like the extra nose upgrades
Geez!, get a room you two... LOL. Very nice plane (almost as pretty as mine, lol) and great flying, Steve. You had me a little worried when you were landing. Good thing you have a huge runway to go with your huge.............plane. Awesome work behind the camera as usual, Denise. Crash proofing is a must on something that large. Did you test it? I hope not. Love the video.
davedeja LOL! Oops! Too risque on screen? LOL We're happy to report we DID NOT test the Crashproofing this time around. That would have hurt, but not as much as if we did not install Crashproofing! You're so awesome! Thanks for all of your participation! And Denise says "Blush"
Killer Planes That IS a BEAUTIFUL plane and you both enjoyed it very much and THAT is why I love watching your videos. You can't fake that kind of enthusiasm. Well...Steve probably couldn't. :O Seriously, you two are some of the most entertaining of all the RC YT channels and we (the subs) are the beneficiaries of your passion. Thanks for all you do and share with us.
Put it this way- that plane has a total of 6 tubes and rods in the wings from the factory. We add another 16 tubes and rods in the wings. The factory fuselage has zero tubes and rods, and we add 26 there, reinforcing the fuselage from the spinner to the tail in every important stress area (that means parts that will hit the ground in a crash), and most "less important" areas, to reinforce them against shock damage. You can also easily do high stress aerobatics that will damage or break the wings in the factory versions of any of the planes we reinforce. The SUPERMAX kit adds about 12% weight for an increase of 300% to about 1000% in strength, depending on the area. And yes, those numbers sound outlandish, don't they? They mean this: in the nose, you need to drop 60 to 70 pounds on the reinforced nose to equal the amount of damage to the unreinforced nose by a 5 pound weight. (I know- that's actually 1200 to 1400% strength increase, but that just sounds MORE like bull, doesn't it?)
WOW!! That is what I'm looking for. I want to do a Gasoline conversion by installing the Evolution 10GX.,10cc Gasoline engine, in the FMS Corsair 1700mm. Either the Corsair or the P-47 will have a larger Cowl to accept this little engine.... Foam-gas conversions have been done before. Do you think this conversion is workable ? If so, is it possible to order a Super Max Crash Proof FMS 1700 ARF warbird with just the servos and retracts installed ??... :)
Hey you two.. Always nice to watch your vids.. Somehow when I get on youtube and see a new one from you always look forward to what you are doing .. Like Oh..!! Goodie..!! Cliff
Click the link in the description above (you may have to click on "show more" to see the link)- it will bring you to the P-51 page on the Killerplanes website
DarkLord Sky - The base plane is about $460, and our reinforcement kit is $120. You can have us drill for all the rods too, if you’re not well versed in drilling (For instance, we add 3 rods to each wing from wingtip to wingroot center, as well as several other wing rods that don’t go all the way like those- a total of 7 rods in each wing, plus 4 full length fuselage rods, and a LOT of others) Our SUPERMAX kit offers protection against damage from impacts up to about 35 MPH. I do love stuff that works!
The plane is about $450, and the reinforcement kit is $105. We also do full installs, or what we call "Foam Prep", where we drill all the holes and you glue the rods in. It's a good deal, since there are, for example, 3 holes drilled in each wing from the wingtip to the centerline of the fuselage- close to 30" on this baby.
Thanks! And, of course, The Lovely Denise is simply the best plane shooter on the web. If it was me shooting and her flying, she'd crash and you'd never see it on screen.
WHOA! That sounds like the movie "Misery". Sounds tasty, too- for the dog! (I'm assuming that she would cut them off before dropping them in a hot frying pan- because she loves you!) Clunk, clunk, sizzle. Here, Fido!
FMS 1700mm P-51 Mustang Red Tail with Killer Planes Supermax Crashproofing! Big beautiful doll? No, it's the "Red Tail" but she is BIG AND BEAUTIFUL! Size CAN matter when you are talking about RC Foamies. This beauty looks REAL! She is super sweet and loaded with scale details -- check out those shock absorbers on the landing gear! You are definitely gonna wanna carbon reinforce this baby. Either get the kit and do it yourself, or try Foam Prep where we drill the holes for you or just have us install the reinforcement for you. But don't just take our word for it. Put her up in the air and give her a spin. We know you'll love her too! Get one at Killer Planes NOW and check out the other gorgeous 1700mm FMS warbirds too: bit.ly/1ugjNvp
yea, maybe a little disrespectful to the tuskegee airmen - i certainly would want a more "scale" pilot. but hey, its his money, so to each his own. on the brighter side, at least these lovely models are available in red tail trim for us to fawn over.
O yes that would be cool you have the best Channel ever buddy very funny dude and how you edit your videos with sounds and shit I shared some of these people just crack up like I do
Haahahaha that's hilarious if you can laugh at yourself that's pretty damn cool some people can't do that LOL hey man I did an unboxing 4 - plane but it wasn't the best and I forgot to get my landing gear out I put it all together last night I have to adjust the rear Servo horn this bad boy is big wish me luck and I have been telling everybody about your Channel I mentioned you in my video and I was just talking to a friend in Australia about you as we speak I was watching your videos last night out here on the porch with a few people they were cracking up man

Yes Sir. Love the Red Tail Tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen. Thank you Sir!
You're welcome! (And you're the most polite and literate cat I've ever heard from, Sir)
Maybe one day their will be a tribute to the 41,000 who lost their lives flying for the 8th. Army Air Corp. Believe it or not they flew P51's also.
That is such a beauty!

morris mercier The1700 does rock, but the 1450 is still my fave- great in the air, and travels to and fro in one piece in the car

Frank Nap Can you put gas engines in foamies? This performs rather nicely on the stock electric motor ESC and prop. The prop is also VERY scale
Beautiful, I want one just like it, but with blue instead of red..how much and where!!! Love the sound
David Salas We sell them with reinforcement- but they only come in red tail or ferocious Frankie (yellow hilites)
I have just three word's for you and your Plane,"I LOVE IT!"
