You could always just drain your coolant and loop your heater lines so that its not going into your heater core, do the fix, flush it, then hook them back up. Then it never gets into your heater core. But this is awesome info. Cool to know it WILL work in a bind. Good video man.

Just don’t use mechanics in a bottle regardless. Just replace the bad part. If your excuse is you can’t afford the part then you better start walking to work. Trust me you cause more harm than good, I used to work at O’Reilly and if someone try’s to buy it I warn them, it usually offends them and they also usually come back in to buy the right part afew days later all defeated n shi.

I did this to my 2001 Saturn 2 years ago and its still being daily driven 30 minutes each way.
It used to eat coolant and smoke. Now it purrs like a kitten, and heat is still hot.
    Stuff worked for me.

I've used that Barrs Leak head gasket sealant to fix a leaky radiator on my old car back in 2012. Twelve years later in 2024 the radiator is still leak-free. And I'm still driving the car.

Awesome result for $20, I would treat her a new battery and some 91 pump and raise the car suspension a little.
I drove a diesel car here in the UK that had a weak head gasket for 6 years,. The heat would disappear on idle but return as soon as I started moving. I even had plumbers tape on the threads for the overflow tank. Peak torque is a shade over 2000 revs so it was never a major issue on my 50 mile daily commute.

NEVER DO THIS!!! I got a 98 Cherokee the old owner noticed a radiator leak and added this exact same brand to it. Still leaked which prompted him to replace the radiator. Then it overheated, costed the transmission and engine. It took removing the engine transmission flushing every cooling system I should’ve replaced the heater core but hey it don’t overheat anymore now that I fixed his f-up. So congratulations you’ve turned your $800 civic into a $2400 civic.

It will work , but I highly recommend a full tear down and rebuild shortly after .. I would call this a bandaid just to get u time to get funds and means to rebuild .. but im sure u know this ... entertainment is the name of the game .. ps keep that cold crap there , I don't like it. I moved to NC to escape cold .. thunk I need to go further south, lol .. na but all and all, brotha , respect and props to ya fam .. peace and love all, keep it rad, stay safe, and build on..l8r fam and keep having fun all

If it was my car I would have isolated the heater core from the engine and I would have cycled that engine from hot to cold at least 30 times and then I would have flushed the block and radiator before putting in fresh coolant. Even after doing all that I also know that this is a temporary fix, eventually it will blow again.
