    Your experiences on and praise for this ride are what I also remembered having when I rode this for the first time 5 years ago. Later when I became a true enthusiast and part of the community, I was taken aback by how much hate it got as being overrated, boring, and “forceless”. I was always skeptical of these claims, but I now fully realize that the hate is mostly unfounded, and riding Millennium in good conditions makes it undoubtedly a top 30 coaster.

    No idea how the TH-cam rabbit hole landed me on roller coaster reviews. But, here I am.
    As an Ohio native, these Cedar Point videos really make me want to get back to the park. It’s been years. Think the last time I was there was shortly before Maverick debuted. So it’s long overdue.
    As far as Millennium Force, I agree completely with your rating. And it is kind of odd. There’s nothing I remember as being remarkably noteworthy. Yet, it’s probably my favorite coaster of all time. From start to finish, it’s just fun. And it doesn’t get old.
    I remember the first year it opened, the place my dad worked for rented out the park for their company picnic. Which meant the lines were basically non-existent.
    We rode everything that day. But we kept coming back to Millennium Force. To the tune of 8 or 9 rides. And each time was just an absolute blast.
    On a separate note, I definitely enjoy your videos. Yet, the way you talk through the experience is kind of bizarre. Floaters, ejectors. Flowjectors???
    It feels like an attempt to professionalize. As if it’s commentary on some dry, esoteric sport. Like dressage (sp?) or professional canoe ballet.
    I don’t know. Maybe it’s normal for hardcore coaster enthusiasts. It’s just odd. Reminds me of when I was like 10 years old with my family on a beach vacation.
    Thinking I’d become an expert in body surfing, I decided to start categorizing and classifying prospective waves as they approached.
    “Oh, here comes a class 3 roller. Those can be deceptively tame. Better hold out for the class 4 or 5 breaker that normally follows.” 😂
    Hope you don’t take this as a slight. I just found myself continually becoming distracted from the substance of the review.
    It’s a roller coaster. Literally intended to be fun for all ages. Impressions of the experience don’t have to be like listening to an NPR podcast on genome sequencing.

    I love this ride too! It has a special place in my heart since I live in OH & I grew up going to Cedar Point. Maverick, Steel Vengeance & Milli are all amazing!! My kids are 8 & 9 & we took them there for the 1st time a few weeks ago, Milli ended up being their 1st coaster they had ever road & they fell in love with coasters just like their dad & I! ☺️ Some teenagers near us were shocked that they went on it for their 1st coaster ride.

    the straight section of track was used to make the unload station. also in the middle row the last overbank gives a little floaty sensation, at least for me.

    I marathon the millennium force 3 times in a row before, I was highly trying convince my little brother to ride it with me and my cousin,but he wouldn’t ride it. So we quit marathon it. Next year my little brother finally rode the millennium force. Before he rode the Maverick,Cedar Creek Mine Ride,pipe scream,Gemini,Blue Streak and iron dragon the previous year. The millennium force made him into a ride warrior. I put him on the 2nd to tallest rollercoaster at park because he was scare, got off and went straight to the Rougarouu(His Favorite),and now he will ride the steel vengeance with me. Now his 2nd year he came back and ride all the rides besides Top thrill dragster,valravn and wicked twister right after his first ride on millennium force .Came back the next year,which was last year and got the wicked Twister credit he was waiting right before they took it out.
    2018:
    Maverick
    Cedar creek mine ride
    Gemini
    Iron dragon
    Pipe scream
    Blue streak
    Woodstock express
    2019:
    Millennium Force
    Rougarouu
    Corkscrew
    Magnum XL-200
    Steel vengeance
    Raptor
    Gatekeeper
    2021:
    Wicked Twister
    Now, if we do go this year he wants to ride the Valravn first to earn that credit. And after that we’lol probably ride the millennium force again.

    I agree with all you said in this review. I was very impressed with Millennium Force on my first rides in 2014, and that was validated on my 2018 visit. The fun factor is what puts it over the top for me as my favorite giga. I've ridden all 4 in North America now. It's not the most intense, but it's easily the most fun, imo.

    I love this review, I rode it for the first time this year on opening weekend and went back in October, being a So Cal local I really wish we had a giga like this out here. To me, by definition any ride that makes me grey out is forceful, and MF does every single ride from every single seat. I love the speed, the turns, the tunnels, it's a really great ride and for all you haters out there calling it "forceless", I will gladly send you our half giga Goliath from SFMM and trade you for MF any day of the week. Great job on the review Drew!

    I rode Millennium Force for the first time this year, as well, and I had basically the same experiences with the first overbank and the first and second airtime hills. I only got to ride twice, but both times I grayed out in the first overbank, felt sustained floater over the first airtime hill, then had a pop of ejector into sustained floater on the second-- which I'd say was the best part of the ride for me as well. I also came into it knowing about the "forceless" criticisms, and was pleasantly surprised to find myself disagreeing with them.
    Maybe it was just running particularly well in 2019?

    Absolutely phenomenal review! With Cedar Point being my home park, I have been on this ride countless times, and I absolutely love it. I agree it is more forceful than people give it credit for. I also get fantastic airtime on every single one of my rides on the two camelback hills. I always get HUUUUGE amounts of incredibly sustained flojector on both of them. I would personally say The first drop has great ejector and the bunny hop has a decent quick pop of ejector as well. But the two camelbacks are definitely my favorite parts of the ride. As you said, the first huge overbank and the third overbank have pretty good force! I love Millennium Force. Was it overrated at one point? Yeah, I would say probably. But it is so hated on by enthusiasts now that I don't think it's really overrated. Out of my 86 credits, I still have it in my lower top 10.

    • @coasterdaddy7123
      @coasterdaddy7123 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do agree though that it is a weaker giga. I've also been on I305 and Fury 325 and have both of those ranked higher. Just wanted to note that. Doesn't make Millennium any less spectacular though!

    • @WCfanboy
      @WCfanboy ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this is old, but from my morning rides, the back row gets decent floater down the drop, and in the back the camelbacks are really weak, you get very mild sustained floater, and better, decent floater up front, the speed hill has a decent flojector pop

  • @Mechum22
    @Mechum22 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Perhaps it was simply the fact that I visited when the weather in Sandusky was on the cooler side, but I unfortunately missed out on the bountiful airtime you guys got on Millie. The height of the first hill and the well sustained speeds make this ride fun to me, but other than that, I didn’t find most of the ride particularly thrilling. But I’m glad to hear that the airtime moments do deliver some of the time. Nice review, as usual. 👍🏾
