Drew- you’re one of the only people on TH-cam who agrees with me that Cedar Downs is a sleeper hit. I was so pleasantly surprised by it.
I’m not sure if it’s just because of the novelty, but riding it with friends was just super fun!
@@ParksBros No restraints, since it’s an old ride. You feel like you’re gonna get thrown off (in a good way). Basically it takes a regular carousel and makes it thrilling.

Just spent 3 days here for my first visit to the point ever. As a lifelong coaster enthusiast the hype was obviously insanely high, yet it still blew me away. I can’t wait to get back and enjoy everything again. Also Cedar Downs is actually pretty scary I enjoyed it so much.
Maverick for the win!!!
Maverick is my #1 in the park. Its Unique blend of elements makes it a very rare coaster. It may never be matched in this regard... Most modern coasters pick one thing (airtime, inversion, positive cheese, Etc) and drive it into the ground. Maverick gives you just enough of each to keep you coming back time and time again.
I was using speech to text and didn't realize until after I posted that it came out as "positive cheese" instead of positive G's.
Ironically, positive cheese sounds like a strange element on an RMC coaster! ;-)
Everyone needs some positive cheese in their life! 😂

Maverick isn’t better than Steel Vengeance, but it’s close enough that I wouldn’t fight about it.
But in my opinion the worst crime committed by the voters is Monster not being dead last. The only ride I legitimately hate. 😂
What makes it so bad?
@@Zatoka. I hate the way it loads. Being in the first half and then sitting there baking in the sun for 5 minutes while the second half loads. I'm dizzy before the ride starts.
Or being in the second half and sitting there baking in the sun for 5 minutes while the first half unloads and then loads it's next run. Even worse because now I'm getting heat stroke AFTER the spinning ride.
Just loading everyone all at once would make the ride 95% better.
Heck. Putting some shady trees around it would probably be good enough.
And it's kind of uncomfortable the way you are crammed into it with the feet area folding in on you. But I could live with that.
Omg same! I went on a monster ride at another park and I HATED it!! It was so hot out and it loaded like a Ferris wheel!?!? And for the record Steel Vengeance is the best roller coaster I ever went on, it being behind Maverick is a disgrace!

IMO pipe scream is more of a coaster than Superman at SFMM, but I feel like both should be some kind of drop tower ride. Then again if an impulse is an undisputed a coaster at this point and the Mack power splash is a coaster; pipe scream is just like an impulse or power spash with spinning over the track trains.

Cedar Point, the self avowed and widely accepted Coaster Capital of the Workd lists Pipe Scream as a coaster so that’s enough for me and my credit list thank you very much 😊

Hersheypark lists their water park's water coaster named Breakers Edge as a coaster, so does it count as a coaster to you as well? 🤣🤣
Six Flags also calls all of their Larson Loops as coasters too
My question is: bobsled coasters count, and alpine coasters count, why do people not count alpine slides as coasters?
Maverick has the advantage over Steel Vengeance of not having to have anal cavity search every time you ride.
I love Steve, but it's such a hassle to ride even with fastlane.

I’m supposed to be going for the first time in June. Possibly moving the date if top thrill is still down. I’m so excited to see whether Maverick or Steel vengeance is my favorite frontier ride lol.

Cedar Downs is the largest (64 Horses) of the three remaining racing carrousels. The others are at Rye Playland (NY) and Blackpool Pleasure Beach (UK). These are 56 horse models.

I will never forget when I was 7 or 8 back in the late 60s that I refused to go on Blue Streak. My younger sister, though, stuffed her shoes with tissue paper, stood as tall and straight as she could, and got on it. When they came off, she was beaming. My dad called me "egy nagy csirke" (a big chicken). I was shamed into going on. I loved it. My favorite remains Gemini.

go to the back of the park first where maverick and steel vengeance are, ride the rides around that area because the back of the park usually has the smallest queues at the start
or if you can afford it just buy unlimited fast lane fastpasses are almost always worth it
Wildmouse always gets a massive line at the start of the day
I went on new top thrill dragster and that turned into my number one besides Maverick
Fun fact. The dragster announcement will happen on the second day of my first ever trip to the park. Totally not planned

yes, most fast coasters don’t go upside down. The 2 fastest and tallest coasters at the park don’t go upside down.

i went recently and I gotta say the giant wheel sucks... the operator stopped it every 5 seconds to let more people on the ride. we spent like 30m on the thing

In all my experiences at Cedar Point Top Thrill Dragster was the best ride I've ever been on in my life
I must have missed something with Maverick. I can't imagine how anyone could think it is better than Steel Vengeance. I would even put Raptor ahead of Maverick in my ranking. I was really surprised after riding Maverick. I thought it was the most overrated coaster I had ever ridden because I found it to be forceless and frankly boring.

Corkscrew is NOT the worst coaster-it’s Cedar Creak mineride. No way that the enjoyable arrow looper that doesn’t physically bruise me doesn’t beat out CCMR
Woodstock Express should be with the coasters since its a family coaster, not a kidddie coaster. In my opinion, anyway.
