This is one of the best reaction channels on TH-cam. Most reactors watch a movie, say some non-insightful stuff, and then say, "Yeah, I liked it." You do a deep, deep dive with multiple watches, research, and a deeply considered commentary. I wish they were all as good as you.
I concur
Agreed. If we're wishing (and why shouldn't we, on Whimsory's channel), I'd wish for them all to be as thorough, and as watchable. I'd settle for half as watchable.
She's fantastic
100% keeps me coming back.
I agree! I'm so impressed with the amount of work she does and she is very insightful. My favorite reaction channel!
Can we all just take a moment to acknowledge how much effort Whimsory puts into her vids, watching the movie several times, reading articles, watching documentaries about the movie etc.? She goes the extra mile compared to every other reactor out there.
and she's as cute as a chocolate button.
@@user-sh6gz8ms6w Cuter.
whim does her homework & I respect that
@@skatedurr i'd do her homework for 'er.
Well said @llaauuddrruupp
Whimsory sets the bar high. I appreciate her unique formula/format in creating her YT Reactions. It is so easy to watch her videos, among other things, she is consistent and entertaining which, for some of the many other YT Reactors, seems to be a challenge, even some of the 'good' YT Reactors, they can't match Whimsory's level of consistency & attention to detail nor her exceptional editing, background information and intelligent opinions.
The reason Mia gets all messed up from the drugs is because she was snorting heroin (which is really dangerous to snort). She thought it was cocaine (which is fine to snort). She got confused because cocaine is usually packaged in little baggies while heroin is packaged in balloons or paper bags.
Earlier in the movie the drug dealer says "I’m out of balloons. Is a baggie alright?"
I think she knew which drugs, from her research, but was trying not to say them by name to avoid TH-cam flagging her video.
Snorting heroin is actually safer than IVing it (use to date a junkie), the reason she got messed up because she has no tolerance for opiates, whereas if Vincent snorted the same amount he'd be fine.
@@novah589 She also was already on coke, and the interaction can be fatal.
@@novah589 Vince also bought the really potent stuff because he had a tolerance to regular heroin.
Heroin is fine to snort, the problem is Mia thought it was coke as she uses coke regularly and has a tolerance to coke, she didn’t know it was heroin and didn’t have a tolerance to heroin and thus did her normal coke dose in heroine instead and OD’ed.
Favorite line: "So pretty please, with sugar on top, clean the fucking car. " I love Harvey Keitel's delivery of that line so much. One of my all time favorite movies
“When you little scamps get together, you’re worse than a sowing circle.”
That line lives forever on my head, lol
My favorite line from the Wolf is just that look he gives after sipping that excellent coffee.
@@ThreadBomb ha ha, kind of like, "mmmMMM!" ha
I use a sanitized version of this all the time with my kids. Only one or two people have picked up where it is from.
My favorite line is "He died of dysentery" (with a totally straight face).
😂 The way Kathy Griffin just turns around and walks away like nope when Ving pulls the gun has always cracked me up.
She's most of us in that moment. I too would make a big eyed run for cover 😱
"I'm wet." - Kathy Griffin
OK. Mental note: don't drink water whilst Whimsory is giving out her awards. "The best story about travelling jewellry since Lord of the Rings" made me shoot water out my nose.
"What if he can't dance??"
Clearly she hasn't gotten to Grease on the list yet 😂 Can't wait for that one!
Or indeed, "Saturday Night Fever".
That's JOHN TRAVOLTA Whimsory!
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it in the comments, but one of the moves Travolta does during the dance is the Batusi, which was invented for the 1960s Batman TV series. The name is a parody of a popular early 60s dance called the Watusi (named after an African tribe).
Umm, the character she means, not the actor - you do realise they are different things don't you?
@@Lacessit He will always be Vinny Barbarino to me. Up your nose with a rubber hose
32:38 - Your award to "this lady" for best extra character...that's comedian Kathy Griffin, by the way. In the film credits she is actually listed as "Kathy Griffin as Herself", so she's actually playing herself having witnessed a car crash.
Funny thing about Vincent when his talking to “Paul” about his impending date with Mia (it’s not a date), he says his gonna mind his own business, chew with his mouth closed, and laugh at her stupid jokes. When at dinner he intrudes by asking about the Tony Rocky foot massage debacle, DOES’NT chew with his mouth closed, actually talks with his mouth full, and then promises Mia that he won’t laugh at her old, corny joke…
"Paul" is English Dave, by the way.
And it's spelled "doesn't" not "does'nt"
You do a great job. Nobody does it quite like you. Keep it up and subscriber base is going to climb
Who cares about a stupid typo.. U got nothing interresting to say, so u sit and look for typoes, just so u got something to say@@JohnSmith-qn3ob
@@JohnSmith-qn3ob You should have a comma before the word not.
The best story about travelling jewelry since Lord of the Rings. -That was epic. Thank you.
Seriously our girl needs to write for comedians.
One of the funniest lines ever
I was so weak when she said that 😆
THAT WAS AND BRILLIANT WHIMSORY!!!!!!!
Carrying it up his arse would have spared Frodo a hell of a lot of trouble.
"Oh man, I shot Marvin in the face" might be the greatest delivery of dialogue in movie history
Yup. The way he says it like he just spilled some beer while covered in blood and brain matter.
the whole car dialogue was great, shame she didn't react to it.
And it wasn't even written that way. Travolta came up with that.
@liamlacey4085 That scene has probably saved hundreds of lives by being shown in gun safety courses. This is why you do not put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
I wanna agree, but Eartha Kitt saying "AH-HAHAHAH'I'LL SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER!" in THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE is technically the best line reading ever.
"He died of dysentery... he gives me the watch..."
The most horrifying line in Captain Koontz's whole story 😱
I guess he found a way to sterilize it, since he didn't also die of highly communicable dysentery 😅
Is dysentery communicable from person to person? I thought it was from consuming water tainted with animal waste.
@@MP197742 It can be transmitted from person to person by oral contact with infected fecal matter (or water tainted by such). Handling the 🍑 ⌚ of a man who died of dysentery means he would need to sterilize the watch or risk dysentery infected waste every time he 💩, which would require a lot of hand washing (unlikely for a POW) to survive contact with for years.
@@MP197742 I think the point is that you can get it from contamination. And humans are animals.
“The best story about travelling jewellery since Lord of The Rings”. 😂😂
That’s some comedy writing talent right there 🙂👍🙂
Even though Travolta didn't get paid much for his role in this film, his real payoff was that his career took a big jump forward and brought him back into the spotlight in Hollywood. This reignited him as a box office draw and he certainly made his money after this.
My favorite acting delivery in this movie is not even dialogue. It's when Harvey Keitel (Wolf) first sips the coffee Tarantino (Jimmy) makes for him, and then gives him an approving "Hmmm!" and a little nod. Too funny!
Makes me laugh every time I watch it
Yes!
Yes- I agree! ..you might also like to notice Vincent's face when Wolf is admiring the cleanup job they did on the car.
"I gotta stab her 3 times?!"
"No!"
🤣🤣🤣
The overdose scene is so darkly comedic, I just love it. Travolta dragging Thurman around, Stoltz in a frenzy and Arquette adding to the chaos.
And Trudy doing bong hits on the couch.
@@MarcosElMalo2 It's why she's the calm center of the chaos tornado 😉
Christopher Walken's first role was a small part in the Woody Allen film 'Annie Hall'. And in it he gave... you guessed it... an unhinged monologue. That's what he's known for.
That scene where he gave Little Butch the watch was okay. But to be honest, it could have used more cowbell!
😜
“What if he can’t dance?”
You know? That’s the first time in 45 years I’ve ever heard anyone ask that about John Travolta.
If there’s one certainty in the universe, it’s that John Travolta can dance.
yea Ive suggested Urban cowboy to several reviewers here, They would love how Travolta acted in that film and especially Country & west music fans since it has a GREAT soundtrack
@@michaelceraso1977 Clean your spacebar! 😂
“… with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch.”
“YEEEEESSSS!”
You rock, Whims. Thanks for the entertainment.
lifted from 'Charley Varrick' (1973) by the way. The Ezekiel 25:17 speech Tarantino also lifted from another movie: the American version of the Sonny Chiba flick 'Bodyguard Kiba' (aka The Bodyguard), also from 1973.
Your post mortem commentary is unique, funny and brilliant.
Whimsory reacting to Pulp Fiction makes my day better
Dumb ! Look at yourself, look at your own age.
Fruit Brute was in fact a real cereal. It was part of the monster cereal line, like Count Chocula and Franken Berry. Unlike Count Chocula, I don't think they make it anymore.
It came back a couple of times for special anniversary production runs, most recently in 2022. Fruit Brute (also produced as Frute Brute) isn’t currently in production, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t ever be back for another limited production run.
@@markhamstra1083 to add to that, the box there is one of the originals from QT's personal collection.
Frute Brute was actually available again this past Halloween. It's pretty mediocre. LOL !
Boo Berry.
Franken Berry was pretty good. Count Chocula was OK, but (if memory serves) it was like chocolate Rice Krispies.
The real question is, are you Quake? Or Quisp? (Both cereals were the same, but in different shapes.)
Fact: Travolta is an amazing dancer (Vaselina, Saturday Night Fever) and Uma Thurman was terrified to make the dance scene with this legend, but he was nice with her.
Thank you Whymsory for react to this masterpiece. I (F word) love your channel, I'm sure you're the only one who rewatch the movies and research more information about the movie. The awards ceremony is unique.
Whimsory: What if he can’t dance?
Barbarino (different Vincent, same Travolta): Hey, up your nose with a rubber hose.
Let's not forget the capital one dancing santa
Tarantino really changed the film landscape with his approach to filmmaking. The way this story worjed its way to the middle from both ends is pretty brilliant. And its such an immensely quotable film. One of my all time favorites. I love your method of analysis and observation of movies. Awesome work!
The only part I don't love is the French wife. She is just a drag as a character, and I don't think the performance is very good either.
BTW, watching this reaction is the first time I noticed Butch talks to a French female cabbie and then his French wife immediately after. Weird. Maybe the cabbie is actually an hallucination?
It's a gimmick that only works the first time you see the film.
Tarantino relies too much on shock value with the violence.
Entertaining film but no masterpiece.
"That's not a real cereal."
It was. Count Chocula, Frankenberry, Boo Berry and so on are all part of the same series of monster-themed cereals. Fruit Brute was the Werewolf.
Zed also played Redfoot in the Usual Suspects. The actor did have a bit of a criminal history IRL.
Cant believe i never noticed.
To clear it up for you - Mia was a cokehead, she was snorting cocaine - Vincent is a horsehead, He injects heroine, top quality smack, and Mia snorted his heroine, thinking it was just more coke, which could have screwed her up without having coke in the mix. But with coke in the mix... a Death Cocktail.
I dont know why but i always laugh when Christopher Walken starts talking about how he hid the watch up his ass for years. Its such a sudden and random thing in an otherwise emotional scene.
its an excellent monologue that veers into a Norm Macdonald-esque joke
42:07 "He could've left but couldn't do it" That's what makes the gold watch story even better, it isn't just a McGuffin like the suitcase, it gave Butch a moral background, he knew he had to help his enemy from those monsters. Plus what happened to him and Marcellus is in a way similar to what his father and Christopher Walken's character experienced
As far as pay goes, keep in mind that both Willis and Travolta were in down periods in their careers at the time. This movie made them stars again. I think Butch went back because of the gold watch story he heard as a kid. That story taught him about honor. Walken's character even starts out saying something like 'When two men are held prisoner...". I don't think it's a coincidence that we hear that story then later Butch is taken prisoner with Marcellus. Butch had that opportunity to redeem himself and he took it. That's why he gets to ride off into the sunset sort of. The scene where Butch runs over Marcellus is definitely a nod to Psycho. BUT the pawn shop scene is a nod to a scene in the movie Deliverance. I can highly recommend that movie. Even if you never do a reaction video with it, it's worth seeing simply because it's such a good movie and it influenced a lot of other movies.
I've probably seen this movie 50 times, and I've never noticed Vincent walking to the bathroom behind Hunny Bunny!
Imagine showing up to the casting call and getting the part of the gimp
Mia found Vincent’s stash. She snorted it thinking it was cocaine when it was actually heroin. So yeah, she took too much and the wrong way.
While heroin _can_ be snorted, that stuff was pure and too powerful (which Lance even makes note of when selling to Vincent) for the amount in the line she did.
Because it was in a baggie.
19:34
Good point. If my neighbor killed somebody in a boxing match yesterday, I might just remember seeing him today.
I've never assumed that "don't drop the soap in the prison shower" was a joke. I've always assumed it was advice.
Ohh Whimsory, she’s so innocent. She deserves all the likes and more subscribers for putting herself through this 22:52 😂👍🏽
I love your reactions so much. Not only by the reaction itself, because it's so funny, but you actually take the time to read about the movie and watch it again after before talking about it. It's something I also like to do, so yeah. Great video as always
So glad someone else picked up on my favourite line, Whimsory's best comeback. Always loved that it's just a little throwaway and it instantly puts Jimmy back in his puny little place.
I can't quote my favorite line completely but is when Jules is on the Phone and says: You sendin the Wolf? Shii that's all you had to say😹😹
When Mia is talking about her TV show, she is describing "Kill Bill" in which she (Uma Turman) plays the main character.
I was going to argue but realised the similarities as i started typing.touche
Actually Vincent heard the door opening, but he thought it was just Marcellus who went to buy some donuts 💀
Fun Fact: the reason Vincent always in the bathroom in the movie is because a common side effect of heroine constipation.
Constipation backs you up, so you visit the bathroom less
@@4Kandlez Not if you're body is constantly trying to get things going. @OhitsGeo Appreciate the insight about heroin constipation.
@@4Kandlez It can also means when you do go, it takes longer to move everything - hence Vincent always bringing a book with him
@@4Kandlez You feel like you want to go but can't, so you visitr the can but nothing comes out - that's constipation.
Where's the evidence Vincent heard the door?
He didn't hear the screaming during the diner robbery.
Hi! I just found your channel and love it! I thoroughly enjoy seeing people's reactions to movies for the first time! I wanted to mention a fun fact I didn't see anyone else mention- John Travolta was instructed by a recovering heroin addict to drink tequila and sit in a hottub to get the closest feeling of being on heroin without actually having to do so...
Such a perfect reaction and reactor in general. I hope many more people find your channel. You deserve so much more support. Amazing work.
Marsellus' line "I'm gonna get medieval on your ass!" was huge in pop culture in its day - a meme before there were memes.
You're kinda the best ever on movie reactions. Just recently discovered the channel, and I love the fact that you genuinely care enough to do a post-react review to come back for a for a breakdown. Good stuff!
Also trivia: it was in the oldies cafe sitting at tge "car table" where between scenes Uma Thurman and Quentin Tarrantino came up with Kill Bill, which they loosely reference her character b/c her pilot show is the rough draft concept for Kill Bill. 😁
Go back to her first one to see her mission statement when she says she loves movies but realized she hadnt seen anything on the IMDb top 250, it's awesome, she really is the best react channel 🤟
The cafe is a copy of Ed Debevic’s, which was on North La Cienega in Beverly Hills. It was a 50s style diner with the theatric wait staff as well.
great reaction. i learned some things in your outro even though ive seen this film several times. 1 thing i'll add that you didnt mention. when vincent says "aw man , i shot marvin in the face", it was travolta who added the clause "in the face" to the script. he said to tarentino "trust me its funnier this way", and tarentino said fine. personally i think that change improved that moment immensely.
Mayo is really good on most potatoes, including french fries. Most people of most countries think we're pretty weird for putting ketchup on fries. They ain't wrong. Great reaction!
A lot of people consider it blasphemy to put ketchup on a hot dog, lol
Fries/crinkle cuts & ranch, now that’s my favorite :3
I prefer plain fries to mayo or ketchup, but chips with gravy is god tier.
You are all correct.
A lot of reactors don't appreciate this film like you did, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Its hard to imagine where Tarantino comes up with stuff like this but he is a master at writing dialogue and building tension, as well as dropping you right into the middle of a fascinating conversation
I love that you knew John Travolta from hairspray.
13:14 - Frute Brute is a real cereal (at least it was at some point). Part of the "monster cereals" from General Mills like Count Chocula, Boo Berry, Frankenberry, Yummy Mummy...
Marcellus was on a coffee-run from Bruce Willis' apartment, it was HIS gun lying on the counter.
32:54
I nearly peed on myself laughing.
Never change, Whimsory.
"The best story about traveling jewelry since Lord of the Rings". That thar is some quality content! I was really pleasantly surprised how you participated in the movie instead of judging this or that or trying to guess ahead what would happen. I think Tarantino's style suits your style.
I really enjoy your reactions. I follow a dozen or so reaction channels. While they all provide the reaction, you take it further with your outros. Your reactions are quickly becoming one of my favorites. There are many movies that I wish reactors would watch. But three movies I never see with the other channels that have a small cult following.
1996 - Desperado - Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek - Action, Comedy, romance.
2006/2009 - Crank / Crank: High Voltage - Jason Statham and Amy Smart - Action Comedy
Not top 250 but I think you and your followers would thoroughly enjoy them.
Keep up your work... Peace ✌️
"What if he can't dance!?" Said the young kid with no idea who John Travlota is. Love it. And the azz watch "Best story of traveling jewelry since Lord of the Rings" GOLD. Stealing that one.
23:54 He played the villain in The Mask.
"The truth is _you're the weak._ And I am the tyranny of evil men." Favorite line.
33:24 You're correct. The other coffee was for Vincent. Jules has just left the picture, so Marcellus was staking out Butch's place with Vincent and went to get them breakfast. Who knows, if they'd known Butch had toaster pastries in the cupboard, maybe Butch would be dead and Vincent would've survived.
I always wondered if Marcellus would still have let Butch go if he knew that Butch had just killed Vincent.
"say what again!!!" is my favorite line... "that's my wife" always gets me chuckling too.
Amazing reaction yo
How did you not crack harder during the Christopher Walken scene?? The dysentery line gets me every time.
Quentin Tarantino did another movie previous to this (Reservoir dogs).
In that movie there is a character called Mr.Blonde.
The actor who played Mr.Blonde was going to be the one to play Vincent Vega, meaning
Vincent Vega was going to be Mr.Blonde. But the actor Michael Madsen passed the roll because he was
in another project at the time. Instead the roll was given to John Travolta, and the new character
was named Vincent, which is Mr.Blondes (Victor Vega) brother.
Was just typing this.
In a movie full of epic one-liners, my favourite line is: “Zed’s dead, baby! Zed’s dead!” Great reaction as always, Whimsory!
Says of John Travolta, "What if he CAN'T dance?" That's precious LOL
OFC, it would have been hilarious to have Travolta play a character that couldn't dance, but at this point the director and studio and Travolta himself absolutely needed the marketing angle of Travolta's return a the dance floor on the silver screen.
45:20... AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH LOL!! THAT'S why he looks so familiar lol!! I thought he just reminded me of Owen Wilson lol. Nah that's it, the evil dude from The Mask!! Good catch!
\O>
In the 90s a lot of movies were made by creators inspired by Pulp Fiction telling the story out of order from the perspective of different characters. Go! was probably the best of these other movies.
Go! is another wild ride of a movie. I don't see anyone reacting to that one, though, sadly.
Go!
Is pretty damn good. I need to re-watch that!
Go! is wildly underrated, with a great cast and rave soundtrack.
I haven’t thought of Go! in years. Definitely will have to rewatch that.
Im proud of you... and Ringo is proud of you.
Christopher Walkin is the only actor who could have done that watch story justice.
This movie absolutely blew my effing mind when I saw it in the theater. I can only call it a revelation. The tension it builds up in various scenes was palpable, like the whole audience was holding its breath, especially when the needle was poised over Mia. ...Zed is also a bad guy in Usual Suspects, which is another must-see if you haven't seen it yet.
Who else smashes the like button before watching the video?? 😁👍🏽
How could we not? Whimsy's the sweetest reactor out here, there's no way I won't enjoy the time investment ❤
Just did it 😂
FUN FACT: There are those that believe that Butch remained in the pawn shop to save Marcellus because he saw a subliminal message that compelled him to do so. As Butch is exiting the Pawn Shop, he grabs the keys to Zed's Chopper off the counter. The keys are attached to a key ring with a large "Z" attached. Immediately after this, Butch glances over his right shoulder as he walks to the door. Looking over his right shoulder, Butch's view includes, among many things, a neon sign that is sitting on one of the shelves. Now, while Butch obviously didn't study the neon sign, he would have been aware of it on a subliminal level. This neon sign is usually hung in bars to advertise a brand of the alcoholic beverage ale. The sign reads "Killian's Red." However, on this particular sign, the portion that reads "ian's ed" is burned out. This leaves a neon sign that reads "Kill ed." If you combine this neon sign with the key ring for the chopper, you get a message that says, "Kill Zed."
"KILL ZED."
I'm sure that this was intentional and not simply an accidentally message.
That sounds like a serious stretch.
Butch isn’t evil, & knows it would be absolutely cruel to leave Marcellus to stay tortured. And in the end he leaves with his life & his personal honor.
Yes, the internet is full of morons...
I can’t explain why Butch went back. Maybe was some Stockholm Syndrome thing?
Your explanation was as good as any.
Fun fact: travolta started as a dancer, and has training as a dancer. He got he debut in a movie call3 Saturday night fever about a young man who lives for disco basically. The famous “you can tell by the way I use my walk” scene as he goes down the street, popped collar, buttons undone and chest out.
So he always has a dancing scene or number put in his movies
“THAT’S NOT YOURS!”
“You’re driving like that!”
🤣🤣The love for Whimsory is boundless.
lol, totally forgot about the old school view of the city during the cab ride. Man I love this movie and I played the shot out of this soundtrack on cassette tape.
It's funny, I had just watched a couple channels react to this within the last week or so. And I actually went and checked your channel to see if you had done a reaction to it as I think you're one of the best, if not the best, movie reaction channels out there. And bam, here you are today uploading a reaction to it. Serendipitous indeed. Or maybe I should be more like Jules and take it as a sign from God that you are the best reaction channel out there. After all, Vince just saw coincidence and nothing else, and then he got shot coming off the crapper :D
Mia incorrectly assumed Vincent's heroic was cocaine.
I love it when you're not sure if you should laugh or not at certain scenes. You make your reactions really unique and witty and you are so likeable and really sweet......this is no cheap flattery, i honestly mean it.
Greetings from Germany
My favorite line is: Winston Wolf - "So pretty please, with sugar on top, clean the fucking car!"
Favourite line is "You're the weak", Jules in the restaurant. It's like he's saying it to the audience, and that anyone thinking if getting into that world IRL is going to deal with ppl like the characters we've just seen. So be humble, get a regular job, and avoid that world as much as possible
Why didn’t Jules make them leave everyone’s wallet there and just take his $1500?
"I was ready to go save Marcellus myself!"
😅
Butch's weapon selection scene comes around to some of Quentin's other movies. Still waiting for him to use a chainsaw in something.
The famous brief case of "Pulp Fiction," predates the "Pulp Fiction" movie. It is believed to be the same briefcase that is in both "Repo Man" and "Heavy Metal." Also, please watch Quentin Tarantino's best movie "True Romance." He wrote it and Tony Scott of "Top Gun Directed it.
Repo Man would be a good one for all these reactors to watch. I'd be interested to see how many of them could 'get' it.
I love how Whimsory is so innocent that she didn't recognize the ball gag as a sex thing. Great reaction!
Awesome, Whimsory! So glad you caught the Psycho reference. Most younger people will miss that, but it's definitely an homage from Tarantino to Hitchcock. Also, I love your observation about Butch's humanity in going back to rescue Marcellus. Very perceptive!👏
Yeah, I think Marcellus was out getting coffee and donuts for himself and Vincent and he was heading back to Butch's apartment when he happened to walk right in front of Butch's car.
Heckuvan awesome cast in this iconic flick, and I've just realized that Whimsory is the greatest character in this whole movie! 🎥🎉
The square/rectangle thing is a popular kid/bully meme from the '50's. They always draw a rectangle and say, "square," to get you to prove that you're a square when you correct them, so you'd look like a fool to their throng.
Whimsory had an amazing transition when she went into post-editing, I loved it
John Travolta can dance just check out Saturday night fever from 1977
Antoine Roccamora a half black/half Samoan organized crime figure known to some as Tony Rocky Horror. A character that doesn't even appear in this movie had been stuck in my head since I saw this in the theaters when it first came out, it's the little flairs of dialogue that make a QT script so fun to watch, i can't imagine anyone else would have come up with that name in a million passes at this script, but it is so evocative and makes perfect sense when you hear it that you can't help but think that it can only be the name of an actual person.
I can't believe I've never noticed John Travolta in hair spray 😂 I've seen it multiple times too 👽
Never seen _Pulp Fiction_ before?! Oh, this'll be good!
I still remember renting it as soon as it came out on video back during my first year of college in '95, with my two roomates in our apartment over the weekend. We had just seen _Reservoir Dogs_ for the first time the weekend before, so we were extremely excited to see Tarantino's next film, especially after the way it had been plastered all over every TV show and magazine cover for over a year.
We were not disappointed.
For probably the better part of a decade after this movie was released, college creative writing class assignments across the entire country ended up being full of dialogues between a pair of criminals in a car full of random pop culture references. Not to mention the number of actual movies that sprang up after this full of '70s-vibing cool criminals spouting pop culture references.
Magnum means "Big" or "Great" and Opus means "Work." Magnum Opus means "Great Work," in other words the greatest piece of work a person does in their life. _Pulp Fiction_ could be considered Tarantino's Magnum Opus, but it is _definitely_ the work that fully cemented him as something special, after _Reservoir Dogs_ caught everyone's attention and put the spotlight on him.
Pulp Fiction. A violent F word Ridden classic. With dialog that is so well written. While it is much more graphic and violent, Kill Bill actually has an origin in this with the Fox Force Five scene with Uma. It is also excellent and worth a watch.
Love the recap part of this reaction. Just the best.
This is now one of my top-three favorite reaction channels for giving me several new phrases to use. I can't wait for a situation to arise so I can call in my "hard pipe-hittin' associates."
First sight of a ball-gag and Whimsory says, "Oh no." Good call!
It's a great film, I'm glad that you liked it, Whimsory. I like most of Tarantino's films and this is one of my favourites along with "Jackie Brown" and "Inglorious Bastards".
Vince purchased heroine, whereas Mia was into cocaine. She saw the baggie and thought it was coke... it wasn't. Her snorting up a big fat line of it was basically an instant OD.
PS - Nobody... and i mean NOBODY... writes dialogue like Quentin Tarantino.
In addition, according to their conversation it was incredibly high quality heroine
John Travolta made little compared to what the movie made but I assure you he didnt mind....he was a completely forgotten actor since his late teens/early twenties during his "saturday Night Fever" days.
Once this movie dropped you begin to see him in all sorts of movies like Face off/Punisher/Micheal etc etc etc
THIS MOVIE was the single most important reason for his career revival....so in a roundabout way he made out the best of all the actors who were in this...BY FAR.
The best introduction: "I'm Winston Wolf. I solve problems". Everybody needs a Winston Wolf in their life.
I think it's great that you watch a movie multiple times and even do some research after whenever you do a reaction to a movie. I can't think of any other reaction channel that does that so it's just nice to see someone go above and beyond 👍
