I have had my shampooer for 30 years. Only used it once. (Have tile throughout the house now) I have two area rugs. I really needed a refresher course! Thank you so Much! ❤❤
Thank you for the great video. I am getting ready to do my first carpet shampoo job with my new Kirby Avalir 2. Very thorough explanation. I am excited to get the job done since my wife wants it done before Thanksgiving.
Thank you! I honestly didnt think i was going to find a video to help me with putting this together. My bf brought this kirby home with a box full of parts and left it to me to figure out. 🤦♀️ Now i can finally clean my nasty carpet
I'm here to let you know social media works using this G2000 finally for cleaning my carpet. My box of tools had a VHS but we know what happened to those machines 😅😅😅😅 Happy Thanksgiving
So this carpet shampooer is only to freshen your carpet and not really clean it. I bought this thinking I could really clean my carpet that is very dirty after 5 years. Is there another kit that does deep cleaning, or can you do another video where you demonstrate this on a dirty carpet? It seems you're demonstrating it on brand new carpet.
Fabulous video. My husband and I had a Kirby distributorship and I personally followed up each customer with a “How To” visit. Never knew about this video😢
You seem like you know all about vacuums. I’ve been looking for the most powerful suctioning vacuum made for my home. I have come across too many vacuums that the suction is not powerful at all and it does not agitate the carpet the way I would like it to move. Can you suggest the most powerful suctioning vacuum there is on the market today?
Hey AJ, yes i do know a bit about vacuums. I should I’ve been doing this for 40 years and we actually have two retail shops where we sell all makes and models. I can give you an unbiased, impartial opinion on what we believe would be the best vacuum for you. When it comes to cleaning power it’s more than just the size of the motor. What’s important is Air Flow and the Brushroll. If you’re concerned with deep cleaning the carpet you should get a canister with a motorized power nozzle or a two motor upright(one motor for the suction and one motor for the brush). There are several good options for both. Our favorites are Sebo snd Aerus for a canister machine and a Lindhaus or Riccar for an upright. Of course there are other good options but that would be a good place to start your research. For how many I sold for the buyers in my area i gave them a coupon to contact me 1 time in the 1st year to train them how to use if they forget. It sold more when i added that. People are just too busy and many have back pain and hate bending to detach and attach parts. I wvwn gave a newbue a tip to by a stick vac and give it as a gift if they bought that day. Most Kirbys sat in the closet after that. Still sold. Less angry customers. Your demo even though more detailed and slow is a bit too much for most owners and those with attention issues and anxiety.
I wish this video wasn't so old. Chances are, nobody will see this comment. :( I have had 4 Kirby projects over the years. Two G4's, a G5, and a G6 2001 Limited. All had the shampoo system. I have wondered for years about something: on the bottom of the tank, under the tank removal "handle", is a rectangular well that has five 1/2" long nubs facing inward and a cutout at the rear, like something is supposed to slide or snap into that rectangle. What is it for? What's supposed to go there?
I beat my to death w hammer bc i could not get bottom of bag to disconnect it would not turn at all cd not find a way to unlock it nothing in the end yes i killed it by hammer
Hi Melissa, yes, the Kirbys are expensive but they do last a long time. Plus, if you use all the attachments and the shampooer, they are worth the money. Get good use of it and it will pay you back. Funny thing about those Kirbys, some customers love them and will use nothing else but some hate it because if it’s weight. My opinion is that, along with the Kirby, probably a good idea to have one of the battery operated stick vacuums like a Simplicity s65 or a Miele TriFlex for quick cleaning. Call us if we can help with anything. 1-800-263-5425
If you buy them reconditioned, you save a lot of money. However, if you are an original owner, you can send your Kirby in for a rebuild at any time for either no fee or small one.
@@KickassVacuums Great video. Some people need assistance when using attachments for their Kirby. We have had a variety of vacuums, including Kirbys, and I have to say I love my Kirbys. I have a model 519 (1959) and a Diamond Edition (2005). While it is convenient to have tools on-board, I wouldn't trade my Kirbys for anything.

Best video I have found telling me how to use this machine. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Thank you for making this video. Very through and helpful. We've got a hand-me-down G4 Kirby and your demonstration was great. 🙂
Thank you for taking the time to explain it. 😊
Many secondhand owners may not understand the Drive and Neutral for vacuuming.

Thanks for the input. The follow up is a great idea. Where do you sell?

Very good. Thank you
nice
I bought a used Kirby at a pawn shop for $300
We purchased our Kirby from a door to door solicitor in 2012. I wouldn't be surprised if we totally got ripped off on the price.😅

I doubt you got ripped off. They are worth it!! We still have one from the 70’s!!!
I bought mine in 2002 without all the extras... $1800. I still have it and runs like a champ, zero issues.
Power nozzle
Excellent video thank you so much
